worse target i have ever been to. they had 4 mins to closing, and they told me they were closing and i couldn't look around while there were other people looking around and paying for things in line. i told them i only needed 1 minute to grab something and it was an emergency and i knew exactly what i wanted and needed, instead of telling me where that item was, they tried blocking the isle and the shelves from getting me from picking up something, they spent more time, trying to follow me around and say i can't pick up items or purchase anything, then they did trying to help me, after i told them i would report them to their district manager, they stopped following me. so disgusting! i had like 3 female workers follow me around, telling me i couldnt buy anything, and what do you know? i found what i was looking for in under a minute and they had 15 people in line! the only person who was nice was this girl named michelle, who rang me up and did her job normal, she did more work than anyone who followed me and didn't help me look for a specific item, which would have taken them and myself half the time if they just told me where the item was instead of making me look for it myself. another time i went in here, they refused to return a speaker for me, because they said electronics are highly stolen items. so i drove down to the college grove, where they actually tried to process the return, and gave me a gift card bc i lost my receipt. read more

This was by far the worst Target experience I've ever had. I had hopes for this Target to be my new go to instead of the one over in Rancho. While it is clean and well organized the cashiers ARE THE WORST! I spent more time in line than gathering the items I went in for. May as well go to self check out if the cashiers are going to take 10x as long as I do scanning my own items. Save yourself the headache and go to any other Target or just go to self check out. Seriously annoyed with this location. First off, while picking up an order, there was a man standing directly behind me. He was not distancing himself and the target employee did not tell him anything. I had to say something and the man still wouldn't move. Then I ask the employee to remove one of the items that I didn't need after all. She said she couldn't remove it and I would have to go back and return it in 24 hrs. Wtf? I know she can because I called before to tell them that I ordered something by mistake and they told me I could just ask them to remove it on arrival. I left because I didn't want to continue arguing with the other guy breathing directly behind me. Rancho SD has a better target anyway. read more

Not a fan of this Target. It's half the size of the other Targets in the area, and has half the selection. The aisles are super narrow and so are the parking spots. I'm also disappointed that there is no Starbucks inside. I expected so much more from a brand new Target. I would rather drive the extra 10 minutes to the Rancho Target than waste my time here. read more

I bought a Nintendo Switch at this Target's website and put it in as an order pick up. When I bought it it said that this was the last one in stock and that it would be ready within two hours for pick up. Once I got there they spent almost a whole hour trying to figure out what happened until they gave up and said that someone came into the store and bought it. TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT- I had to go there (item was out of stock in my normal store) to pick up an item i had purchased on their website. The employees made me wait in the returns line. The pick up area with the Tablet was filled with shopping carts full of returns, when i mentioned it was an online order and i had to use the tablet, i was told they don't do that there because it's a small store.. weird since that's how online orders are design to work. I asked for a manager and the door employee refused to call one. THE CASHIER DID NOT CHECK MY ID, JUST HANDED MY PRODUCT, all she did was ask for a name. While yes this is indeed a small target it certainly provides this area of Spring Valley a much needed face lift as well as extra convenience for the the surrounding communities especially during this COVID-19 situation. I seldom visited this area when it use to be Kmart but now that it's been changed to target I find that if the big target in national city doesn't have what I need this will be a back up. read more

My mother in law came home upset & crying after she went to this target location to buy a card for a babyshower. Im mad because she has high blood pressure & she was shaking when she got home. Basically what happened was after paying she forgot her keys at the cashier station & when she realized she went back to ask for them. The cashier told her to go to the lost and found .. thats when things got bad.. the short security guy asked for the description of the keys & when she told him he lied & said they didnt have it ? she told him "the cashier just told me to get them here" ... he got upset & rudely said they didnt have them & you need to leave . Then she went back to the cashier & the cashier went & got them for her. On her way out she showed the security the keys & said " these are my keys why didnt you want to give them to me?" He got really upset & told her she needed to leave & if she ever came back they would call the sheriff on her. He made her feel like a criminal & my mother is law is never problematic or rude??? Who trained this little boy? Why didnt he just give her the fucking keys & move on? So shes banned for asking for her keys? What the fuck TARGET!!!!! read more

This is the smallest target I've ever been to! Should be called like mini mart target. I only came here cause I missed my exit so figured why not check it out . I walk in and there are two male employees at the only entrance and they don't greet you( same when your walk out btw). While the store is neat , the selection is lacking. I was able to see the whole store in five minutes and not one employee said hello. Poor customer service , lack of merchandise and in a sketchy area, not coming back here again. I ended up driving to the Rancho San Diego to do my shopping. read more

Haven't even got in the door yet and I'm Here to write a great review . I take care of moms with a walker senior citizen and we struggle every time we gotta shop and get electric cart to shop. Shame on Walmart as today 8/14/20 we just had front door associate lie to my face they had no electric carts and if I got one they can't leave the store . Moms can't walk . I walk up front and 4 carts dude didn't wanna go get one one !! We go to Target and a employee named Rob right as I walked in asking for cart assisted me , let me take electric cart out to front and stayed with moms helping her get out the car and into electric cart to go shop . What a great associate and customer service to the max . Thank you . And just to put it out there , there's gonna be a time in your life when you can't walk or get around and hopefully when that time comes there people like Rob to assist you . Yes, it's small, but so what. This town needed a department store. Under the circumstances, they have a good selection of various goods. It's convenient if I just need a few basic items. If you want more selection, just go to the one in Rancho San Diego or College Grove. read more

This target is very unprofessional. They don't close until 10 but closed at 9ish I came into the store at 8:30 there was never any announcement saying they would close for that whole 30 mins . They said 5 mins, and literally a minute later they cut the lights down low. Which made everyone go to self check out. I had to go to A cashier since I had wine. Honestly some of the worst attitudes at any target in SD, the SUPERVISOR was super rude and walking away from me when I'm trying to ask her a question. This location needs to keep a close eye on its employees and mainly the higher ups because I can see where they get the attitude if the SUPERVISOR can be so ignorant and rude. Small target with luxury items. They do give you a hard time with price matching but stick to your guns. The parking lot is kept kinda clean for as much foot traffic going in and out of there. I would like to see more of the workers to stay off their phones tho read more

This Target is small, but mighty! They may not have a huge selection as a bigger Target might, but they're fast and efficient. The store may seem to be packed at times, but only because the store is small. During this pandemic the store has gotten more business, which sadly means less employees being at work. I understand they stay home for their health and safety as well. Considered they're human beings as well and deserve to get to choose if they stay home or not to not get sick. It's unfair to hear people treating the cashiers like crap bc they only have one lane or only self check out. The real world is real in Target too and they deal with call outs! Especially during this time. So if you'd like to wait in a much larger line, go to a bigger Target since this one doesn't seem to be the best option for people. read more

Honestly I've been to this store a couple of times now. I don't know who hired the employees, but the majority of the employees are beyond rude. They have zero customer skills. The manager, which I unfortunately did not get her name, was zero help. When I asked if she could help me locate an item, she said if I don't see it in the shelves they obviously do not carry it. There have been countless encounters with other employees as well. These employees need proper training ASAP. read more

For some reason people are misunderstanding the point of this spring valley Target. It is a Target express just like the ones in ocean beach and north park. The only reason it does not have the express sign under it is because it is much larger than the others. If you were to go to the others then it would be almost like a 7-11. I needed a few items for my homemade chili, I found everything I needed including one can of beer. You have to self checkout and I had no problem with that, I scanned everything and the last item was the beer. The screen said an associate had to enter a code, I'm 66 years old and look it. A young person came over and entered a few numbers then told me alchohol can't be checked out here and I would have to go to customer service. That's not convenient so I gave her the beer back and paid for everything else. I like the store but not the inconvenience of the checkout. read more
