This location is constantly out of stock of half my shopping list. The last 2 times I've gone I have not been able to complete even half my shopping as the grocery items I went for were expired. Definitely one of the worst targets out there. Everything is now locked up from ibuprofen to $1 toothbrushes. You've got to wait 10-15 minutes just for an employee to respond to the button call, to which they don't even have a key for. Makes the whole process really long and uncomfortable. Then your 10 min errands turns into a half hour plus. At that point I'll go to Walmart where everything isn't locked up. Locking up basic health care needs for customers is dehumanizing. This location has always been stocked with items on my shopping list along with great customer service. Associates are actively stocking shelves and more than willing to stop and help you find an item. I also find myself ordering through "drive up" and my orders are always on time and rarely do they have to switch out items with a similar product. By far my favorite location! read more

I came to target and found a phone case which was priced at 38.99 in the target store. I always check Amazon to make sure it's not cheaper there, this item was 7.52 on the Amazon Speck store and when I told the employee she would not match the price when it specifically says online if you show them a product on Amazon for a lower price they have to price match it. The employee then proceeded to tell me some dumb excuse about how they couldn't find the price on Amazon on their end. It was literally the very first option on Amazon when you search the product. Clearly they have no idea what they're doing. I would rather drive to one of the locations in Roseville or Citrus Heights than continue to give my business to the incompetent employees at the Madison location. The employees are always wipe there nose and not using sanitizer to clean hands. They employees also ways say there out stock in back room when the app and the scanner says they have it in the back room. Some of employees are friendly but most are not. They constantly have expired food on the shelves. One I found was chocolate chips that were a lot on the shelves the top bags Expired 2023, the bottom ones expired 2022! Stopped by here on an impromptu overnight trip to Reno (turned into a two-night trip). We needed a change of clothes and some toiletries since we didn't pack anything. Found a tank that was cute for only $5 in the clearance section, it was size XS and that NEVER fits me but I guess Target runs big! This review is for an employee named Donuts! AKA Eli: I was looking for a certain baby Yoda toy for my daughter. I stopped at a few other stores and couldn't find it. I was getting the same response "If it isn't out on the floor we don't have it." I came to this target and asked one of the employees Donuts if they had the toy I was looking for and he took the time to look in the back for me because the scanner said there was 3 on the floor and they might not have been put out yet. (Note when i approached him he was working in a different department of the store.) I WAS SO HAPPY TO FINALLY BE ABLE TO BUY IT! I appreciate the genuine customer service that was given. Hi, I was in store 0311 in Sacramento today, and had a very unpleasant interaction with a Starbucks employee there. )The Target on 5001 Madison Ave). The employee at Starbucks, I was told by a manger, is Justin Nix. Justin made us wait while he had a full conversation on the phone, at the register, with an employee about no call, no shows which I felt was unprofessional. He could have taken that phone call in the back, and the second employee just stood there not asking if she could start on our drinks. The main complaint is that Justin was not wearing his mask properly. It was under his chin, not covering his face or nose. I politely asked him to wear it over his nose and mouth at least while he was making my drink, and he gave back attitude and literally walked off the job and said screw this. He left only one employee at the counter and she told me she was only a trainee and when I asked for his name she told me she didn't know because she was new. The second comment is that at the register Target had a sign in bold that per state mandate food and drink consumption was not allowed in the store anyway. When I asked about it Justin was cavalier about it, and said just ignore it, this was before I asked him to wear his mask while just making my drink. I do not think that's an unreasonable request for him to wear it seeing as it's literally your store policy. When I asked the manager about the sign, I didn't get his name, he said that it was a mandate but employees couldn't really enforce which is a confusing message. If drinks and food are prohibited and there is a bold sign at the register saying so, it seems like that's asking for trouble, especially when your employees tell customers to ignore it anyway. I'm really disappointed and frustrated that an employee would be so unprofessional and disrespectful, especially at a time like this when everyone else is trying to stay safe from covid. I don't think it's too much to ask an employee, who should have had a mask on properly anyway, to wear one while touching my drinks. He was not the only employee who wasn't wearing a mask either. There was a female employee on the store floor who wasn't wearing a mask, and only put it on properly when she overheard me talking about Justin. She immediately took it off when she thought I was out of eyesight, and was laughing like it was a game. Again disrespectful to everyone else in the store abiding by the rules you have put forth. I understand you cannot enforce customers to wear masks and I understand that enforcing it put employees at necessary risk. However, I feel it unacceptable for your employees to not be abiding by the rules that the company is putting in place. It gives the wrong impression that masks don't need to be worn, and that covid is not being taken seriously. How can you ask the public to wear masks in your store when your own employees won't? It's really a slap in the face to all the employees and customers trying to stay safe and wearing masks and social distancing, and it is a health issue. I very much understand how these are frustrating these times are however, what I saw today was unacceptable, and I hope it is addressed. The one postive thing I can say is the manager I spoke with, I didn't get his name, was extremely respectful and understanding, and I appreciated that. Would give 0 stars if I could. This is the worst customer service I've ever had. I made a mobile order for curbside delivery, called and spoke to customer service who confirmed that they had enough of the item in stock to fulfill my order. I drove an hour to the location after that phone call to get my order and when I got to the store they said there was 0 in stock and refunded my order. The customer service rep even admitted that it was 100% the stores fault and that that's all they could do despite my hour drive after confirming my order with the staff. This place is horrible!!!! I waited for 15 minutes to get melatonin which is locked behind glass. Ridiculous! I tried calling customer service to get help and I kept getting hung up on, so I walked up there. She said she'd get someone. No one came. I asked An employee doing a customers shop if she could get someone and she said she would. Waited and finally someone came but she went by me and help a guy that just walked up. Still standing there now about 25 minutes. I went to customer service to talk to a manager and the customer service girl walked right by us not acknowledging us. Then after a couple midge comes back and I asked for a manager which I never got to talk to. I called Targets corporate number and filed a complaint. I then tried calling to talk to a manager and I've been on hold for 19 minutes so far. I got my melatonin and other groceries at Walmart. Took an employee maybe 2 minutes to come help me. Everyone who works here is super helpful and friendly. Since the option became available, I've been doing the "bring my groceries to my car" pick up thing where you can roll up in your pjs and bed head and they'll just put your stuff wherever you ask them to. The store is in filthy condition. There was a homeless encampment in the parking lot, tons of trash all over and an unmasked woman on drugs pacing around between the front entry and the lingerie department (hat pulled down and sunglasses on at night, scratching at all her open sores). She passed right by "security" and I alerted a store employee about her and was told "oh yeah....she has been here for hours". If this was an isolated incident, that would be one thing. But this store has been a filthy eyesore and down-right dangerous for several years now. Inwon't shop there again. Not even to pick up items from my car or in the store. When you walk in, the cafe is to your left, fully loaded with Archer Farms goods and Pizza Hut-- I, myself, always gets some ghetto piece that does their job but with some lip smacking and attitude. But, nonetheless, I have seen some decent staff help OTHER people.. I just have that kind of luck. The store is a bit of a mess but manageable. Let me start this off with saying I love target. It's my preference as far as one stop shop type of stores. I actually worked at one for a while many years ago and enjoyed it. This is the Walmart of Target's. It's horrible. There's always tweakers hanging out in the parking lot. This is a great place to come after dark if you're looking to get harassed, mugged or your car broken into. There's not any security presence. The last time I was here (about a month ago) someone was about to break into my car. I wouldn't recommend parking on the side of the store or anywhere in the parking lot that isn't well lit and clearly visible from the front of the store. After my last experience here I won't be back. They seriously need to hire a real security guard to patrol here before something horrible goes down. As far as the store itself I have never been particularly impressed. It's kinda small and the selection isn't as good as other targets. I've never been particularly impressed with the employees or service here either. I lived in this area for many years and have shopped at this location a ton of times. I much prefer other locations. I usually go to the one on Douglas in Roseville or the Sunrise location. read more

Don't go to the Madison Avenue store if you're 65 and older. They have listed on their website that seniors can shop between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. I went in there at 8 a.m. yesterday everybody was in there and some not wearing masks including employees. I asked an employee why and she said it was because of hippa, they can't ask any questions regarding age. They why do they have the 1 hour of business sit aside, if they don't follow the guidelines. This is probably the least appealing Target I've come across in Sacramento. It's rundown, the parking lot is a haven for undesirables, and the selection is subpar compared to the Broadway or 65th street locations. It won't keep me from coming back, but it's certainly not my first choice when it comes to this mammoth superstore. The few items we were looking for for a hiking trip were out of stock, including some decent bandanas for men and a hat for a child under a year old. Surely they would stock hats for children that small, don't you think? But no, they don't carry them at all. I came to this Target location on a Monday after work to pick up some items which I was going to re-do my bathroom with. Since there was a sale going on online, I used the "Buy Online, Pick Up in Store" option because I really wanted to get my project started. I didn't have too much trouble picking everything up (there is a separate line at Guest Services for Store Pickups) so I only had to wait a few minutes. I arrived home and got swept up in making dinner and all that jazz so I didn't have time to put out the bath mats and towels before Wednesday after I got home from work. Believe me, I thought about it a LOT during that time because this stuff is super exciting to me. So you can imagine my disappointment when I took my items out of the bag and saw that they had given me the wrong bath mat. The one I had ordered was 2" bigger on each side and $4 more expensive. Don't the employees have to scan the item when gathering the store pick up order and again when picking it up to ensure it is the correct one?! Somehow I think that they do and didn't care enough to find the correct item hoping I wouldn't notice. So I wasted 30 minutes of my evening after work driving to the store and back AGAIN as well as another 10 minutes at the store getting the correct item. I usually try to avoid this Target because it's pretty ghetto and not very nice, and now I know why. read more

As a fellow yelper, i believe my reviews render useless against corporate stores like Target and Walmart, and would rather focus on small independent stores. However, variety is the spice of life and quick review on Target is necessary. This Target is like any other Target. The layout is pretty much the same; product placement can draw familiarity to the common 'Targeter'; customer service and security are on par despite the "OK" area. I came here during lunch to get some shampoo, detergent, toothpaste, chips, shaving cream, and gum. In my humble opinion, i think most Targets are atmospherically better than other BIG stores like Walmart, but why!?!? WELL you KNOW WHAT, i think its the lighting. The lighting decor at this Target and others are quiet relaxing. A majority of Walmarts are just blinding due to their fluorescent lighting and sometimes you wanna gazelle out of the store just to avoid any "conflict". Overall, 3/5--there is nothing really extravagant, just good lighting and easy to access to your usual products. Is it me or do you always have to get gum when shopping at target? read more

Went to customer service and there was no one there and it was a mess. Waited a couple minutes. Pressed the help button well I attempted to and it fell apart.
