We were unable to find the right size of a pair of shoes we wanted at another location, so we went on the website & found that a pair was in stock here. We ordered it online for pick up to secure it. When we drove to the store, the order hadn't been filled yet, but a worker said he would fill it at that point. He informed us that they didn't have the shoes after all. After we got home, we received an email that the order was ready. Before making the long, inconvenient drive back out there, we wanted to call & verify they did actually have it. We called TEN TIMES over the course of 2 hours & no one ever picked up, instead disconnecting after ringing so many times. There's no good excuse to never answer the phone. This review is for the Drive Up service which is what I've exclusively used at this location for the last two years. The workers who provide this service are always polite and work incredibly hard in the harsh heat and rain. The website itself is pretty accurate with stock counts and the pickers always find the right item. If I elected for a substitution, those were accurate also. I've never been inside so I can't comment on that. However, I've never had a bad experience in this aspect. read more

I LOVE Target. My 6 year old loves Target. She could happily spend HOURS in a Target. But this Target sucks. It feels more like a Walmart. Never thought I'd go on Yelp to review a chain store like Target, but here we are. If all you need is a quick Target run, and you've already checked that what you need is at this store, then it'll get the job done. In fact, I've always loved their Drive Up service. They're always pretty quick and friendly enough. But if anything happens that requires you to interact with their employees in the store, I'm guessing you'll be sorely disappointed. I've had small interactions with employees (I usually use self check out so it's pretty minimal) and they've truly always been rude. I've genuinely received friendlier service at Goodwill and The Dollar Tree. Here are two more memorable experiences: 1. Maybe a few months ago (I don't remember for sure) my ID fell out of my pocket while shopping, and I cannot begin tell you how unhelpful they were. I'm 100% certain I lost it there and I never could get it back from them. They weren't even interested in getting my contact info to let me know if they found it later. I still don't have it. 2. Tonight I went back to school shopping with my 6 year old. It took longer than I thought (doesn't everything when you have a 6 year old?) and I didn't realize it was even close to closing time until they started turning off some of the lights, once they were already closed. An employee later told me their intercom has been broken, so they have employees go around to tell people when they're closing. I mean, at least turn down the volume on the music a few minutes before closing to give people a hint. Don't most customers need some warning AHEAD of time? Am I crazy here? We didn't know the time until it was ALREADY closing time, so while my brain was ping-ponging in my skull, I scrambled to find the last necessities (if you shop in a clockwise loop like I do, that means the most essential items are last) and an employee literally blocked me from grabbing one thing, despite saying I already knew EXACTLY which item I needed, and was seriously rude about it. I told him I knew I only needed ONE minute but he refused. I asked why they didn't give any countdowns and he said they "never" do that, like it was my fault. So I head to the front, and of course end up waiting in line before checking out anyway. AND they quit selling alcohol as soon as they officially close, again, without any warning. Which is a real bummer if you've spent all day back to school shopping at multiple stores and ran out of wine at home I teach my daughter to be a conscientious shopper (she was literally putting things away other people left out on this very shopping trip), to put things back in the right spot, to not block aisles, etc, so I know we would've noticed if someone went around giving time countdowns (30 minutes until closing, 10 minutes, any warning at all). So it sucked for her to see people being so rude. I've had minimal experience with this Target until moving to the area a couple of years ago. My favorite had always been the Arden location (good hours, good selection, good customer service, etc), and this one is probably the jankiest Target I've been to, but it's always felt fussy to travel further to another Target. My husband goes out of his way to go to the Birdcage Target and I've always teased him for it. I will never tease him again and I'll just stick with Birdcage. Any time I've gone there I've liked it much much better. Call me petty, but I kind of wish I would've just left that rude employee with my very full cart to return everything back and then bought everything I needed at the Birdcage Target. (I'm not stupid, I know that's not how go-backs work, but a petulant part of me still enjoys the thought) Maybe they are super strict on overtime and need to get people clocked out ASAP but they could schedule things out better, not be rude, better handle their "fixes" for broken equipment, and also just get their stuff fixed. I have complete respect for people just trying to do their jobs but it really sucks when they can't even pretend to be polite. Ughhhhh this is such a long review to leave a CHAIN STORE. This feels ridiculous and makes me feel like a Karen. I have NEVER been a Karen. My hair is blue for crying out loud, that feels so anti-Karen. But I'm honestly so annoyed. read more

I stopped on my way home, 5:00pm on a Wednesday night. They were DEAD, no customers. We spent about an hour shopping and no doubt upwards of $300 in the basket. From paper products to cleaning supplies and food. Everything here is locked down. We had to wait several minutes for an employee to open locks, individually for toothpaste, laundry soap, and etc. Super Frustrating! I could get over this if it was just the waiting for several items. However, when we went to leave the lack of customer service was even more evident. We were waiting in the only checkout line available. After we stood behind the woman, the cashier announced he was closed. We asked what we should do, he said he didn't know, he was off and leaving and the self checkout was available to us, he shut his light off and we were clearly on our own. Guess what Target? On Saturday afternoon I came in looking for an umbrella stroller and I found a great deal on their Cosco Umbrella Stroller with a canopy for sun protection in a pretty teal color! Thank God we came in when we did, since the stroller was on sale for $17 and I got the last one left in their store, score!! My toddler is comfortable being strolled around in it, it's light weight which is perfect for the summer and it will last her awhile since it can hold up to 40 lbs! Some history.. I caught the security guard about to steal my long skateboard that I left against the back wall outside the store while I bought a couple items. I don't know what is wrong with that guy or what the real reason is that he was about to take my skateboard he said he thought it was trash I consider that an automatic 1 star review there is no excuse this skateboard cost around $100 the security guard should neither want to steal it nor throw it away and unlike every car in the parking lot this thing would be the world's worst Trojan horse for a bomb so please stop harassing customers. I've got a whole plan for how to shop there now with the security guard looking to get the 5 finger discount on my property, but I shouldn't need a plan like that. I happened to be in the Citrus Heights area I needed to stop in to target to grab a few things. This is definitely not one of my favorite locations. The store is actually adequate based on other locations that I frequently shop at, and I found the customer service to be below average. This target location doesn't seem to have many of the same offerings at the other locations do, in fact, they either don't frequently restock or just don't have the merchandise to put on the floor. Consequently, there are numerous empty places and displays throughout the entire store. If you're looking for just basic items and do you want them from target this is definitely a quick fix for anything that you might need. If you were looking for some of their more unique items or just for variety, I would encourage you to shop at some of the other locations. read more

I had a minor problem while visiting the store. I won't go into detail about the incident. What I can say is the managers, Abby and Ruby both came to the rescue and quickly solved the problem. I recently order a few items online with Target and although the products were great, I didn't need them anymore. I came into this Madison location to return the unopened/packaged items. I had a receipt or both, but unfortunately there was a problem scanning the barcode. And there was a huge line. Even with everything going on, this amazing employee Tabitha- was AMAZING. She was so kind and collected even when things were more crazy. She took care of all my concerns. She was so knowledgeable and literally solves close to five problems all at once. This is hand down the worst Target location in Sacramento. I love Target and been doing Shipt and Instacart for almost a year so I've been to all locations numerous times and this one is not at all up to standards. The outside is dirty like it's never been pressured washed and trash can is almost fill up with trash falling out everytime I go in. The carts are dirty with muck and grim inside the baskets like they haven't been cleaned since before Covid. The aisle are organized and the people working there are great for the most part but the store is probably the smallest and has less when it comes to selection. They apparently have a bigger shoplifting problem because numerous times while shopping for Instacart and Shipt customers I can't find a item and on the target app it says they have several so I have to ask for help (if it was something for myself I won't bother but if I don't get a customer's item my pay and tip will go down) so an associate will go and look and tell me they don't have any in back. Unless they going in the back to just chill and then lie to me (I don't think they do) they have a lot of shortage going on. I writing the review today because of that. I went in this morning for a Shipt order and they put about 3 aisles in the personal care section in locked cabinets. This is new. Soap, toothpaste, deodorants are all locked up and you have to press and button and wait for help. No body came for over 10 mins. I had to get a guy that was working on orders for other customers to help me. And then after that another item, they had 6 of on the target app but wasn't any on the shelves so again I need help. This time a woman I think was a manger helped me. She looked on the shelf as if I was wrong but okay. Then she looked in back and her words exactly was " they must have walked off." She said they may have took them up to the customers service so we went up there too and no. So they lock up the $2 soaps and make us wait for help but others are up for grabs. This item was small and cost $46. So 6 of them were stolen. I don't blame the people that work there except for maybe the security that only seem to be at the front door. It all just makes for a horrible and time consuming shopping experience. Maybe if they had more associates available on the floor like they used to it won't be so bad. And that brings me to my last issue which I have with most stores nowadays. They stock the shelves all day now. This morning they had pallets on the floor, blocking the aisle everywhere. I know vendors deliver and put out merchandise whenever but it's now the store associates putting things out all the time now. Why can't they have people to work overnight so the floors can be open for customers during the day? Most associates are mindful and will ask if you need help or move there stuff over so you can grab something but some don't and are just in their own world while they work or act like your bothering them when you tell them you need to get something that they are blocking. read more

Definitely one of the worst targets out there. Everything is now locked up from ibuprofen to $1 toothbrushes. You've got to wait 10-15 minutes just for an employee to respond to the button call, to which they don't even have a key for. Makes the whole process really long and uncomfortable. Then your 10 min errands turns into a half hour plus. At that point I'll go to Walmart where everything isn't locked up. Locking up basic health care needs for customers is dehumanizing. Associates are actively stocking shelves and more than willing to stop and help you find an item.
