I know there's a meme floating around that's along the lines of "Target, where you pay a little more so you don't have to go to Walmart." So true! I'm pretty pleased with this Target. Women's clothing here is actually fashionable and nice. It's a bit expensive if there isn't a sale though. I just paid $29.99 for a two tone maxi dress, but it was too cute not to get. Anyway, if you couldn't tell I like clothes... And what's great about Target is their red card. You can get a card that ties into your checking account NOT a credit card. You get 5% off every purchase. Yay, Target! read more

Target - Shopaholic! ;o) - Department Stores Near Me - Reston, Virginia

Decent size. Kind of dirty though. The reason why I made this review a one star one is because more than the appearance, I was appalled by them not following safety guidelines during this global pandemic. There was one target worker that wasn't wearing a mask in store or when he was grabbing all the carts outside to put them away. He wasn't wearing a mask when he was stocking or just browsing at the store and even smiled at my son 2 feet away from me without his mask. During a time when sanitation procedures are key, all workers should be wearing masks inside the store especially since they are handling all the items that we touch! read more

Terrible customer service. Absolutely terrible. The staff at this location has treated me so bad that I no longer shop at Target. I've shopped at Target form many many years. read more

Great store that has evolved from a smaller store to a larger one over time. CVS did take over the medication and the staff there is still great. Well organized, likely well paid employees a mark you can tell from the same satisfied people working there over time. I'm surprised there are so many shitty reviews but I'll guess it is a reflection of the high number of angst filled narcissistic millennials throughout Reston. read more

Very close to my work so worth a stop for not just Starbucks but to pick up items I don't have time to shop for during the day. That early in the morning no lines and its a quick trip in and out. read more

Hey Target Manager. Here's an idea. Institute a standard that employees can't be in the bathroom FaceTiming in front of the urinals. Seriously, I can't make something like that up. Maybe another one, though not quite as urgently needed, is that when an employee is in front of the self-checkout registers, and one of the lights is blinking and the screen is locked, they can do something other than just stand there and stare into space. Like, you know, fix the issue with the register, which in this case was that it needed more register tape. Is it really that hard? read more

The checkout clerks have always been friendly and kind whenever I have shopped here and I have greatly appreciated them. However, when I shop there, it's hard to find an employee on the floor to help me find items I need. If I see one, they're often on their phone or seemingly not interested in helping customers. I feel like I'm inconveniencing them by simply asking for help, even though I ask gently. This evening, I tried calling the store to speak to a manager about an item I purchased. I tried calling various departments, but nobody picked up the phone in any of them. Actually one did pick up (after the phone rang about 20 times), but when I said "hello", he or she hung up. read more

I miss the expanded linen section -- sheets. Although I did not need sheets often, I always looked for sales --was looking yesterday for percale twin sheets. FYI sheets on entrance display had no prices that I could find. I miss PIZZA HUT Express -- I got used to their pasta marinara and would pick up a quick meal when I was out after a long day and tired. Now I surely will miss it when I cannot ask a neighbor when going to TARGET to pick me up a pasta marinara and breadsticks when I am homebound after surgery. :'-( A clerk said they didn't get enough business. I wonder how much business they are getting compared to before they enlarged the store and increased the categories of items but cut back on items within other categories. I would have liked to see a better quality of clothes -- not k-mart cheap fabric. Groceries look better, but I do not shop there for groceries. Florida has huge Targets that are a better model to include grocery store. I miss the smaller store which had everything,-- layout was practical and efficient, but did not try to be the be-all for everyone. I also think some of the department floor layouts might look good on a blueprint but not very functional/eye pleasing to me, seem like an obstacle rather than a focal point. I guess your data supports your business model. Thanks. IMHO read more

I like this store. I have had a lot of interactions with so many of the staff. Generally speaking, all of the staff is really good to extraordinary. I had one truly horrible experience with a barista at the Starbucks here and I yelped about it. Yelp removed that review. Fine with me. I don't think that person works here anymore anyway. In 6 months to a year, I may make this a 5 star review assuming I have zero bad experiences in that time. read more

There are two ways to check out: cashier or self check. Available cashiers are usually found at the entrances to their lanes. Take advantage of this. I've gone through the self-check twice, both times the register wigged out. The first time they had me use a different unit and they reset the one I had been on. The second time I had gotten as far as swiping my card when the machine froze. They couldn't get it fixed or tell me if my transaction went through (it hadn't), so I had to go to customer service to get it sorted out and pay. Those things have been at this location long enough to have bugs worked out. The staff is always super friendly and the location is as convenient as any other Target. read more

This Target is the worst. I wish I could give negative stars. It's much bigger than the Merrifield one that I go to, but it's much worse service. I had to go twice on two separate days to change clothing sizes out and I had a few questions about trying on clothing during COVID and exchanges / returns since the fitting rooms are of course closed. Everyone was giving me one word answers and stumbling around like they didn't know how to answer me. That same first trip, I mentioned to this young cashier that I wanted to open a red card because I was spending $350 for buying all the clothing to try on at home and return sizes later. I wanted the 5% off on the purchase and to use the card when I shop now and again at Target. He legitimately told me he didn't know how to open up a red card for me and that he didn't want to deal with his manger so he advised to come back another day to do it. I've never heard that in my life and I wanted to take it up with his manager but it was already 10 PM when the store was closing, so I let it go & decided to open a card at my usual location. The second time I came, I needed to find another size so I asked a representative if they had the size I wanted in the store. She told me her scanner was broken & said "Sorry maybe try Guest Services." I should've started there because the most competent people were at Returns and Exchanges. read more

Overall I have numerous bad customer service in this Target Location. One of the last ones was when I ordered through the target app to pick up 3 boxes of mini ice cream sandwiches. I got an email saying my order was canceled because apparently someone else had grabbed the items and there were none for me. My husband and I decided to go to Target for some light grocery shopping that same day within an hour of my order being canceled and I found that there were at least 10 boxes of the mini ice cream sandwiches located in the freezer at one of the ice cream freezer locations. I was annoyed that the Target worker couldn't find the items for my order and when I went to the store that same day (within an hour my order was canceled) I was able to find what I ordered online. read more

The selection here is great. The value is like that of any other Target, so reasonable. Other than that, the store is typically in disarray, e.g., clothes in heaps on the floor near the clearance section, boxes of clothes out near the plus size section and fitting room. The area that it's located typically has issues with panhandlers. One saw me leave the store and as I was buckling my seat belt in my car, they knocked on my window - this startled me, I reversed so quickly out of the spot without finishing the buckling. For some time, police have had to monitor the parking lots for exactly this. The team members are lacking as well. One team member was annoyed when I was searching a rack in the clearance section. Apparently, they and other team members were stocking the section during shopping hours and did not want me in the area - the member rolled their eyes and tersely said "excuse me". I got the message and walked away. Still fairly close to that area, I overheard that team member telling their coworker that was also stocking that section with them that they were sometimes petty with customers. This segued into the teammate detailing to the coworker a time they purposefully "misheard" a customer asking for the location of toothpaste and asking the customer to repeat themselves a number of times. I know retail is hard, but there's no excuse for unwarranted rudeness. It's unbelievable that Target would have such low hanging fruit work for them. read more

Though I got what I was looking for, this store is very disappointing. The problem I had was that many aisles were not labeled properly which made it difficult for me to quickly find the things I needed. I only came in for four items and it should not have taken 40 minutes to find them and check out. There were also not readily available team members to ask about where these products were located. Very disappointing. read more

This is a review for Gary at the Reston location. I had to go to target to get a bicycle and the one that I chose had a flat tire but was the last in stock. Gary went out of his way to make sure that not only the tire was fixed but answered my questions very knowledgeably to make sure that I'd have a safe ride and treat the bike with care. Exceptional customer service! read more

I'm normally a "it is what it is" guy with big box stores and I guess this one is no exception. The person who designed the parking lot must have been a heavy drinker. They layout of the store seems odd and quite different than a lot of other locations. But the largest issue just seems to be keeping the shelves stocked. Long before supply chain issues, this location has struggled to keep the grocery section even half full. It is completely normal to walk by empty freezers and shelves. If you think you're popping by to pick up a few basics, you may be making a trip elsewhere to grab what was missing. read more

I just had the worst customer experience I've ever had in a Target at this location today. I've been to this Target before, but not recently. Today, I was appalled at how far it's gone downhill. Trash in the parking lot, hardly any registers manned, and the kicker was an extremely rude barista working in the in-house Starbucks concession. Target needs to shut down this location. It is hurting their brand, and there are other much better Targets in Fairfax County. read more

Wow. And I thought the cvs/target pharmacy in mosaic was bad after being put on hold for an hour. I stood in line waiting to drop my script off for 20 minutes. Meanwhile, people were buzzing by me in the pick up line. However, I stood there, and then was told to back up because they needed the space I was standing in at the counter to help another customer pick up. This is ridiculous. Pretty sure I won't be coming back. read more

Terrible customer service. I called three times with a question about whether a certain item was in stock and nobody answered the phone.

I've been going to this Target for years and years. They recently added more self checkout stations, which is awesome! Their self checkout systems are very fast and easy to use. I have a few complaints that really isn't Target's fault. -There are homeless people that have set up at a choke point in the parking lot. This choke point is the *only* place you can use to leave the parking lot. They also trade off usage, so you'll see a different homeless person there nearly every time you go. One time one was wandering around instead of sitting, they actually walked up to each car waiting at the red light and peered inside. I believe there's a camp nearby in the woods or something. -The parking lot is dangerous with oblivious drivers, you'll want to go into the lot slowly and check both ways. I've had countless soccer moms pull out in front of me paying no attention at all. People have no clue how to properly yield in that parking lot. There should be one way lanes implemented. read more

Did you know that Target sells booze in Virginia? I did not. Stopped in here to get a few odds and ends and was surprised at the racks of booze. The good: 4 pack of Boddies for $7.95 The bad: Sonoma Cutrer for $27.99 ( little ol' Rodmans in Friendship Heights is now selling that beauty for a jaw-droppingly good $17.99). I must also point out that I picked up a little wine filter at Williams Sonoma the other day for $20, and I saw one in here - I was afraid to look at the price and see how much I had been ripped off - to my surprise - it was also $20 and it wasn't as nice. Score for Williams-Sonoma. But of course there's lots of other cheap and good stuff too - great hip flasks and cocktail stuff hint hint. Actually I have all the cocktail stuff and hip flasks I need I just want stuff to go in 'em read more

One friday night I went shopping at this target with my fiancé. We started our friday evening with a HH at starbucks followed by a trip to target. Adventurous, I know The evening eventually took a turn for the worst when I realized my wristlet that I came into the store with was missing! Unsure of when this had occured I grew frantic and started panicking and when I told my fiancé what happened he immediately alerted the store manager. Brian came to our rescue and after about an hour of helping us retrace our steps and reviewing the cameras in the back Brian helped us find exactly where I had carelessly left my wristlet. I was almost ready to give up but with Brian's patience and persistence we were able to find it. There was nothing taken even though it was left out in the open in the toys section. Just want to say thank you so much Brian - he definitely went out of his way to help us and brought us hope when I was ready to give up. read more

I have a secret ... I love Target. Okay, you got me, that's not really a secret. I live in the suburbs ... it's a rule that we love Target. Anyway, this Target is one of my least favorite Targets in the area. 1. It's always ridiculously crowded. 2. It's crowded with soccer moms and their screaming (and I mean screaming) kids. 3. Said soccer moms let their screaming kids run amok. 4. They never have good clearance items. 5. They are always out of something. Yes, they now have a grocery area ... big deal. The pharmacy closes at 7pm. Some people don't even get off of work until 7pm (not me ... I get off at 4pm ... hehehe!). The women's clothes section is pretty nice and pretty big, so that's what the second star is for. Bottom line ... keep driving to the next Target. If you don't, watch out because you'll probably get run over by a stroller or a cart being pushed by a screaming child. read more

It is a good Target. Sure, we all know Target, right? It is like rating Starbucks, Subway, or other chains. This location is a little bit fresher, cleaner, and happier than average. There are some snazzier locations and some sadder ones. The parking lot is huge and dedicated but I really hate entering and exiting it. There is only one way in and out. Well, I actually sneak out through the new Sunoco's exit so that I do not wait at the traffic light. Most of the year there is no problem but around the year-end holidays it is just a nightmare simply trying to leave the parking area. read more

There were literally no registers open except for the self-checkout ones where the customers work for free. I had a cart full of items but abandoned it because I don't work there. You need to hire more employees. If you're having a hard time recruiting, raise wages until someone is willing to do the job. I'm out. Not worth my time and effort. read more

I shop at Target quite often and overall it is a good store But on a few times I have found the produce and meat sections lacking. I recently purchased two heads of lettice and when I got home I found they were soggy and unusable. The meat section didn't have any fresh fish which consumers are eating more frequently. More attention needs to be focused by the Target general manager and produce managers. read more

Disappointing for a Target!! :-( It's a super messy store and the staff are college kids only. Nothing against college kids but all of them are very untrained, clueless and not helpful. For this I blame the management. Also they will ask you 5 million times at check out if you want the Target card. I said no thank you several times before the lady left me alone. What the heck? I usually enjoy Target, but no one can ever help me out when I'm looking for things and everything is always so unorganized. Then being asked a hundred times if I want the Target card makes me feel super uncomfortable. I really really hated that. In addition I called them once about an item I was looking for. I was passed on five times (!!) and put on hold for about 20 minutes. I finally hung up and decided to get the item somewhere else. Too bad, since I live next door and would love to shop at Target. But will not as long as I they don't improve. read more

Ok- I love me some Target! The Target in Reston also happens to be my favorite Target in the whole area. It has great dedicated parking. It is a huge store and has always been super clean when I visit. This Target went through an expansion about a year ago so now they have even more stuff! I used to always stop and buy stuff I did not need when I went to work in the area. One can decorate their home, themselves, their pet, their backyard, and anything else they want with gear from Target. The best part is most people have no clue whether what you buy came from Target or Macy's or one of a million other overpriced stores. Give me a T! Give me an A! Give me an R! You get the idea. I can;t wait for the DC Target to open. read more

If you are a mega corporate retail giant (killing any chance for a traditional retail business to succeed anywhere within driving distance of any suburb), the law should require that you must keep a full stock of seasonally popular "emergency" type items. In the winter, for instance, jumper cables should be stocked up in the automotive section. It only makes sense, as car batteries frequently fail when it's really cold outside. Of course, this would make sense to anyone who's IQ beats the speed limit. Of course, I only have myself to blame for not having cables in my Honda Element. It's a very reliable vehicle (I have never had one issue with it until today), but I should at least have the cables onboard to help someone else who needs a jump start. Today, my own battery failed at the local Sunoco station, where more than a dozen customers were also without cables. Lesson learned. New batter and cables, tonight. I sprinted (in the freezing weather today) over to Target. I thought, surely, they would have jumper cables-a-plenty, but they were completely out of stock. Two clerks pointed out the grey dot on the shelf that signifies an out of stock condition when I asked if they normally carry them. The empty, bottom shelf space was about 10 inches wide. At this time of year, I would expect a full pallet display at the end of one or more aisles for jumper cables! After acknowledging their explanation of the grey dot, I bit my tongue and left the store. I later thought that this maybe a new strategy to sell more batteries? In any case, Target won't be on my list of places to check first for the things I need. Seriously, out of stock conditions with that much space is inexcusable. Note to self: Target sucks. read more

This Target actually renewed my faith in the chain stores. The ones in Richmond were depressing and encouraged me to stay away (plus Wal-Mart was much more convenient). But after making a break for it since there isn't a Wal-Mart near me for 30 miles, I found a pleasant surprise. The staff could use a little work - the last time I went shopping for a bookcase, the lady walked off and forgot about me. I had to walk into the 'employees only' area to go find her only to be lectured about the sign on the door by the same lady. I wanted to up-end her into a trash can but I really needed the bookshelf so I controlled myself. Otherwise, if I'm looking for smart-assed little t-shirts in men's sizes, this is the place (besides the kiosk in Tysons near the Sprint Store). I just haven't tried their nachos....mmmm....nachos.... read more

I love Target, but this is not one of the best ones in the area. I feel like they are constantly restocking and rearranging, which would be nice if you could still find the things you're looking for. I also despise the entrances and exit from the parking lot. People just don't get it (somewhat understandably), so when it's crowded (most of the time), it's a pain in the butt to get out. I've walked through their new grocery section and am generally impressed. It's clean, but they really only offer the basics. But then again, I don't know many people that go grocery shopping at Target. :) read more

I frequent this Target often since it's in my neck of the woods, and it is among my favorites. Here's why: * Starbucks in the front of the store. Any trip to Target is made better with a latte. * Grocery section. Seriously, between Trader Joe's and Target, I rarely go to the regular market anymore. The Target Market Pantry brand is great quality, and there's a nice selection all around. Skip the fruit and produce - it's never great. * Clearance end-caps and kid's clothing clearance. Always good deals to be found! Stop by the $1 Zone for seasonal fun - books for kids, little gifts, mini-treats. read more

This store has exponentially downgraded into chaos. Compared to other retail stores, they do not have it together whatsoever! This used to be my store since we moved into the area last year; every hair was in place and my kids loved seeing all the cool displays throughout he store (bought mama have some extra shopping time!) But the past couple months have been such a disappointing experience. First off, I've seen food items piled up in stacks, pushed aside within the backroom doors. People desperately need these things and the staff could care less when you ask for help. And the store just looks a mess and no employees seem to care as they walk over items spewed across the aisle. Management needs to buck up and get their act together ASAP. If other stores can do it so can you. read more

Update: I swear this location looses a star every time I visit it. Buy1 get 1 50% of women's, kids, toddlers, and accessories everywhere through out the front apparel. So after spending an hour with my daughter trying on clothes we go to checkout and it's not the case. Guest Service proceeds to tell me it's just A specific brand. When I asked how that is seeing as how there's not a single brand in all 3 sections, she got snippy asking where I "think" I see the sign. I said everywhere and she scans them saying no, it's not part of it. So we just left the few hundred dollars of merchandise there. I need to find a new place to shop I guess. Store is normally kept decent. There seems to never be enough cashiers when I come in. Went to self checkout and for some reason the associate "overlooking" the area needed to stand two feet away from me watching my every move, literally would not look away at anything else. No smile, nothing. It got to the point where I wanted to ask him if he wanted to know my panty size. He made my daughter and I uncomfortable. All I was purchasing was underwear, dog food, and a couple of totes. Marvin at guest services was good, tho:) very nice man. read more

All Targets are not created equal -- this one is nice. I make a point to go here, even though I live in Fairfax, because I have always had good experiences. Granted, I am going during the week, it is probably a madhouse on the weekend. But they have a good-sized parking lot, and BONUS! There's a Chick-fil-A right across the street, along with Chipotle :) The Target itself is large, with a well-stocked grocery section and a good selection of produce. They seem to have more "clearance" sections at the end of aisles than the Fairfax Target, as well. Especially near the pharmacy; I've found some great deals on deodorant and razor blades. Also, an extensive shoe section as compared to other Targets. But my real shout out goes to Lisa, a youngish woman who is a cashier. After seeing me a few times, she always made a point to ask about my dog. She answered my questions - I am suspicious by nature - and walked me through the application process for the Target RED debit card. It is not a debit card, really, just a supplement to your current debit account, and you save 5 percent on everything... well, now that I have the card and go there more, whether I am saving anything is questionable.... but it's a rock solid store, I have never been treated rudely, and I have returned two things (tendency to buy pants without trying them on when in a hurry). read more

I dont really shop at Target that much because of their prices. (Im a walmart kind of girl) But since I live in Reston, Target is a lot closer to me! I went there the other day because a friend mentioned to me that Target had some shoes on clearance. I ended up getting a pair of black biker boots for only $11!!! I also think their selection of clothes in the junior section is very cute and trendy and good quality. I have purchased a few articles of clothing. Keep a look out for the sales! My most recent experience at this Target was a return I had to make. I was really surprised at how fast I was in and out of the store. I am not exaggerating when I say it took me less than a minute. There was no line so the gentleman took me right away. I didnt have ny reciept but he was able to look it up with my card. He scanned my return, swiped my card and handed me a reciept. I was on my way in under 60 seconds! read more

Ok, my middle of the road score comes as an aggregate on-the-whole from the various parts of the store I have patronized. Pharmacy: This is my pharmacy, yet I hate it. The staff is generally unhappy to see you and generally in some stage of disorder. There are a couple gems in the bunch, but all they seem to do is fill the bottles, not work the customers. Perhaps if they hired people who actaully want to help you at the registers, I would enjoy going here more. 1.5 Stars Market: I used to go here for their .99 Michelinas entrees but now I hardly go here anymore. Why should I go here when I can go to my home grocery store and get it on sale? 3 stars for being decent and having good selection. Electronics: Someone runs the electronics department, but I've never seen them. There's almost never someone there and what target.com says the store has is almost never actually on the shelf. I think there can be improvement here.... 2.0 stars Checkout: I've a good strategy, whenever the store gets busy lets close down all our registers so that people can wait in line longer. They appear to try and 'time' when the registers will be busy or not, but all that I ever notice happening is a buildup of lines just when the lines should start moving faster. 2.0 stars Thus you have it. I have to go here so I do. But I don't like it. read more

I once again returned to my Target to purchase my new cell phone. The tech I worked with, Rice not only went the extra mile, he went the extra 100 miles! He willingly spent the considerable amount of time helping me get things straightened out. His patience and guidance were remarkable all the while he was multitasking helping other customers while being completely attentive to my account issues. This target rocks - mainly because there are always a bunch of staff members on hand(plenty of cashiers) to assist. I was able to locate everything that I needed in a jiffy and even had various staff members offer assistance.
