It has definitely been a long time since I've gone to a range and I must say Target Range is a great indoor range with really cool and laid back staff. The range itself is on the smaller end which for me is great. The guys up front are helpful and informative. Their pricing is extremely fair and you can bring your own ammo. Completely forgot the name of the gentleman helping us out who gave me some great advice on my Glock and took the time to take some Glocks apart and show me the internals. I took my first shooting class here and my instructor was so patient and understanding. As someone who had never shot a gun before, the experience was exciting/overwhelming/awesome and it was made even better by my instructor, who took the time to answer all of my questions and make sure I felt comfortable the whole time. Overall, the staff was courteous, professional, and very knowledgeable. I've also gone with a large group (8 ppl) during a busy weekday and the staff was very accommodating. They made sure we had what we needed and checked in on us periodically to make sure we were doing ok. I highly recommend this place for anyone who is new to shooting and doesn't want to feel judged lol. I liked it so much that I'm pretty sure I'm getting a membership next time :) read more

This shooting range has it's own parking lot that is well lit. Everyone there is friendly and knowledgeable. The other shooters there made the environment feel safe. Update here, although I could have purchased elsewhere for a bit of savings I went back and obtained my FSC here and purchased both a family membership and finalized my decision to a Glock 21SF. Again the experience was top notch, as I was finishing up processing I was able to observe both the staff helping other customers with questions, sales, transfers, phone calls and the range it made me feel I had made the right choice on where to bring my family as well as my business. Yesterday was my 5th visit here. I've been with both family and friends. This time we celebrated my boyfriend's bday. A private lot is accessible that holds about 6 cars but there's usually street parking available. Restroom & vending machines: snack/drinks. Also they sell fire arms! The staff is very helpful and knowledgable on what guns to experience & with rental your ear protection and goggles/eye protection is included. You sign a yellow card/waiver basic safety; DO NOT remove the ear protection as I was adjusting mine as my Bf fired his gun and I went temporarily deaf in my left ear . All ringing. Not the best experience! So be aware. Rental fee for non members is $20 per gun, $10 for members. They have bags of ammo reasonably priced& prices vary. You can bring your own ammo but there are restrictions so call first! Membership is $130 idiv. or $180 for a family. So that's a sweeeeet deal! (If you frequent). If you've never shot a revolver I recommend. Yess torque. They assign you to a booth, there is a test before hand. Your party (at least one member) does have to pass this test to ensure safety in the range. I believe if you don't know/pass they teach you and prompt step by step and then allow you an attempt. So be prepared. Awesome staff, it's pretty well kept they have push brooms to sweep aside the brass as it may gather. There are various targets to choose from prices vary from .50-.90 cents! The target distance is adjustable the furthest is 50ft. Beware: You'll lose track of time if you enjoy the range. Great place! read more

Happy Birthday to me, oh oops, it wasn't my birthday. Came here with my wife for her birthday. It was very easy setting up a class with them. Our instructor was Hector who was absolutely amazing. Was very clear and thorough on instructions on how to handle a gun. It was both our first times and we really enjoyed it. It is located in a quiet business street in Van Nuys by the airport which makes sense so people don't complain. The outside has some parking but there was plenty of street parking at the time of our session ( 6pm ) as well. When you walk in you are definitely overwhelmed with many options of guns. The guys at the counter are welcoming and offer to help right away. We did get there early so had to wait for a bit , in their test room, for our class but it was worth the wait. The prices are not bad at all either, not that I have been to others, but the classes for two people I thought was fair priced. It was a full almost two hours with the instructor and every bit of information was worth it. After having a few shooting targets with the instructor he left us to have fun ourselves which was nice. Many lanes available and many many options on guns, and options on what to use. I will definitely be back here asap to have more fun. If you are in the area and never tried this, make an effort to do it and see what you think about guns after trying this. read more

A really fine place, came there w/ my boyfriend and his brother, we spend there about one hour and half, was shooting Glock, fun gun, the ppl were nice over there. Did a safety check and let us in to our lane right away. Everything went smooth and fun. ( about 30 dollar to a person.. ) Renting the gun was $10. Love shooting. My cousins have been shooting and collecting guns for close to 20 years. I still remember the first time they took me here to shoot. I think I was around 14 when I shot my first round. I shot both a 9 mm and a .45 and loved how the .45 lit-up the entire lane. I knew that I'd own one in the future. Finally purchased my own .45 Sig and of course went back here with my cousin to test fire and also to pick up some goodies. Colby and crew run a good shop. They are knowledgeable and offer competitive pricing on ammo and cleaning supplies. I've only been to two target ranges in my life but this one offers lanes that aren't cramped. No need to worry about shells flying over the barriers and hitting you in the head right before you pull the trigger. Only complaint here is with the parking. I've only gone during the day and there is virtually no street parking and they offer only limited parking in the lot up front. read more

The staff at The Target Range was definitely the friendliest and most willing to answer questions out of all the ranges I have visited. A special thank you goes to MIKE TIONGSON for just being very friendly and making the experience of my two friends that much better, it was their first time shooting guns and being that they were female, they were somewhat shocked about the entire experience because it was completely counter to what they had heard about staff at gun ranges being unwilling to assist or just plain rude to newbies. Not only did they add a lil lube to it so I didn't ruin it, they hooked me up and straight cleaned it for me before using it. Love this place, can't find better service any where. Awesome shooting range! Hubby brought me here for my birthday which I wasn't expecting but so glad the first time was here! First of all Hector was our instructor and I have to say he was very knowledgeable and he made us feel completely comfortable since it was our first time. I was super scared at first but after all the talk he gave us I was ready. At first he was with us while we shot our first rounds just to make sure we were doing everything correct. Professional Customer Service from Hector & Luis made my first experience at this range safe and fun!Employees are very friendly and have no problem walking you through every decision regarding your firearm or just general inquiries. The selection of handguns and rifles isn't that large, and neither is the range itself, but they have a neat selection, and the range fee is super cheap. They sell awesome zombie targets for under a buck, as well as standard ones, and they have a nifty corner merchandise setup with accessories and such. Places I have gone to in the past have been annoyed by too many product questions, these guys welcome any discussion, which is greatly appreciated. Price to shoot at the range is only 10$. Checking around for places to shoot, I found that prices may vary all the way up to $20 per person for time on a shooting range, plus ammo and other extras at the Oaktree Gun Club in Santa Clarita. I wanted something more economical, and the Target Range charged $18 for two people at one station so long as you bought ammo from them. So, the firing line represented a good value for me. The pros were a knowledgeable staff and a good value. A bag of 50 reloads for a .38 was $15. The cons......even though there were only a couple other people on the range, the placed us right next to someone shooting a .45 cal. My wife had never shot and had to buy ear plugs in addition to the provided headset to be able to tolerate it. I could have asked to move but it was not a big deal. They do not allow rapid fire. I shot here before some time ago and they also did not allow you to draw from a holster and fire. They told me this was at the request of LAPD. At the time, I was licensed to carry a gun as part of my job, and my life could have relied on my ability to react quickly to a bad situation. So, for this type of activity, you will need to go elsewhere. Also, they were open until 6pm, yet at 5 minutes to 6, we had to stop shooting even though we had only 5 rounds left. I really did not want to argue with the armed staff over this one. Still, the great prices made me feel like I got a good deal so I will be back. They also offer gun rental for something like $10 per gun. It looked like they had a wide range of choices, which is really neat if you always wanted to shoot something specific. read more

NOTE: If you are flying solo and are planning on renting firearms, it's a no go here. :-( I went on a Saturday afternoon at 3pm. It was a great time of day to go, the place wasn't busy. This was my first time here. It is small but very clean and very well organized and it looked like they had a great selection of firearms. I had a couple of hours free between projects at work and the range is 10 minutes from my work. I found them on yelp, looked at their website, prices seemed really good so I figured I'd head over and get an hour's worth of target practice in... NOPE! When I walked in, the staff was very friendly and upbeat. One guy behind the counter asked how he could help me. I told him I am here to rent some firearms and shoot... the guy asked if I brought my own firearm... I said no... he said they have a STRICT policy that you need two shooters per lane when renting firearms. Then he said, if I brought my own firearm THEN I could shoot by myself, but if renting I need a second person with me...WHAT?!?!?! I have never experienced that. I've been shooting for about 30 years. I have seen some ranges require at least 2 or more shooters at all times because of how busy they are, and they will pair single shooters up with other single shooters on a lane... But never a stipulation about 2 shooters when renting. I shoot all the time at Oak Tree and LAX Firing Range by myself and rent firearms while doing so! I figured I must have missed this rule on Target Range's website.... When I got back to work I looked, and nope, not listed anywhere on the website. They even have a list of 17 range rules, none of them mention you aren't allow to shoot rental guns by yourself (which seems ridiculous to me). Anyway, I was going to give a 3 star review because the place was nice and the staff seemed friendly and I figured I must have missed the rule about solo shooters... but I decided to drop it to a 2 star after looking at the website. To the staff... PLEASE update your website... maybe add this as rule #18 or something. I could understand if it was busy and they didn't want to tie up a lane with a single person when there were groups of people waiting for a lane... but there were only 3 or 4 cars in the little parking lot (including mine). I could hear one person shooting, one person was looking at firearms when I walked in and one person walked in right behind me. So this just makes no sense, I can't understand why they won't let you rent firearms unless you have a second person with you!??!! Not cool. :-( read more

Had a family outing, this place is great, small but makes it up with their customer service skills. We were helped by a young guy, he knew his guns and was able to make some recommendations. I am a fan of Sig Sauer. My friend shot Smith & Wesson M&P. My friend wanted to try another gun so we tried the Beretta, not a fan, maybe it was this particular gun but it had a hair trigger, nice gun but just not for me. Every time I would change guns the guys were very helpful and knowledgeable on what gun to recommend. I will definitely go back soon. read more

Great place to shoot. Well lit, air conditioned and concrete dividers on the lanes makes you feel super safe. The staff is amazing and always friendly especially to new shooters. If you purchase a gun from them they give you $80 off your membership. This is definitely my home range now! read more
