They checked my insurance and i was eligible for $300 from insurance. I picked out a pair and paid the $12 above the approved amount. Then Target billed insurance for $350, insurance is billing me for the extra $50. THIS SOUNDS LIKE INSURANCE FRAUD TO ME. BEWARE when using this company. Tomorrow I will see how Target attempts to make this right. They were highly recommended, so we will see. read more

A couple of weeks ago, I left a five-star review for this store, but when I received my eyeglasses and sunglasses, I started to experience headaches and pain in my right eye after just one day. While driving, I couldn't even open my right eye, and everything was blurry! I went back to the store, and she told me my right eye was dry and gave me some drops. I wonder why I can see everything clearly with the eyeglasses I purchased a couple of years ago, but with your prescription sunglasses, my eye is dry! I spent $500 on glasses and $200 on insurance, and after paying $700, I'm still wearing my old glasses! I just wasted my time! "They charged my insurance plus $39 out of pocket, totaling almost $115 for a wrong eye exam, and prescribed a magnifying lens for my right eye! Now, I have to pay another $80 for a different eye exam! If you have an accent, go somewhere else! I will send the results of my new eye exam to Target Optical customer service and also call the insurance company to resolve the dispute. read more

Thank you, Tate! One of the screws holding my lens in place fell out and I took it in to the optical department. Tate couldn't have been nicer or more courteous when I showed him my problem. He told me he'd fix it while I was doing my other shopping. Turns out, it wasn't a simple fix and Tate had to do a pseudo-custom job trimming a longer screw to fit. He didn't charge me anything and was just pleased that I no longer was holding my glasses together with a twist-tie. It sure made my day! (btw - nice ink, Tate.) read more

broke my glasses and brought them in. i went on a quick 10 min shopping spree and my glasses were fixed and cleaned and ready to wear again.

I do not like to write bad reviews, but I can't avoid this. I've spent the last 6 weeks and over 6 visits trying to get glasses and contacts from this shop. The first pair of prescription sunglasses needed to be returned. They couldn't do the return correctly so I had to come back again another time. The last 3 times I've gone to the store they aren't there. The first two times they posted a sign saying they were on lunch and the time they would return. I waited. Each time they were about 30 minutes past the return time. Today there was a sign they were closed because they are short staffed. I get it: everyone needs a lunch break and staffing can be challenging. But six weeks and what will be a minimum of 7 visits and I STILL do not have a pair of prescription glasses and a box of contacts seems unreasonable. I've spent a small fortune on these necessary items wasted many hours dealing with this. read more

I had a pair of very nice glasses from here that got smashed by my room mate. I needed them for a photo event I was having in 3 days. I went in and they found a store that had them. They were the only pair left in the whole nation. Seeing that I needed them ASAP they overnighted via air mail from 1000 miles away to have them not only in on time but with a window of time large enough to make sure they worked out for me. That right there is a sign of a great optical place. The selection is good and the glasses are trendy. The staff is out of this world. read more

I have never been so impressed with an optical store in my life. I have been using Americas Best for quite some time due to finances. I chose Target Optical because they were in my network.. or so I thought. The morning of the exam I was searching for my vision coverage information and found out this was going to be out of network. I called the store to find out how to proceed. Jon was very helpful with information and understanding of my situation. Looking into my vision plan I learned I could be reimbursed and chose to keep my appointment. When I arrived I was greeted promptly even thought they were busy. My exam was very detailed and I really felt like Dr. Borden had my best interests in mind. He was willing to go over Lasik information with me and shared information about many different contacts with me so I would have the best options. Because of their customer service and attitude I will continue to go to Target Optical in Sheridan even though it is out of network and I have to do I little more work to get reimbursed. read more

The woman who is the initial point of contact at this particular store was trite and short. She didn't offer to help as we looked for glasses. I then went over to Southwest where the service was much better and the sales people were much nicer. read more

When I was in the 3rd grade, I thought glasses were cool so I decided to fake a bad eye exam at the annual exams with the school nurse. It worked, and my mom took me to the optometrist who told my mom I had 20/20 vision. The disposable sunglasses I got to wear after were pretty cool. Flash forward to 2002. I figured I may need reading glasses, but since I hated even wearing sunglasses I ignored it. Then, when I moved to Boulder, I passed my eye exam at the DMV so it was no longer a concern. That was 10 years ago. As the expiration of my driver's license grew closer and my ability to see street signs from a distance was getting progressively worse, I knew I had to have my eyes tested so there were no alarms and no surprises when I went to the DMV. However, I had no idea where to go. After a bit of research, I decided I'd go to Target Optical as I could make a Saturday morning appointment and it was only $59.99 for the regular eye exam, $99 for contacts. The optometrists at each location are independent of Target, so prices may vary depending on the location. Dr. Borden is the optometrist at this location and he is fantastic. The exam was a real *eye opener* and this time I found myself struggling throughout the test. After we were done, Dr. Borden explained everything thoroughly and was really informative. He told me I was a good candidate for contacts and I decided to go in that direction while also purchasing back up glasses. I went through the contact training and both Mary and Patrick were extremely helpful and patient. Really patient. Putting them in and taking them out wasn't as easy as I thought it would be! Mary also took the time to show me their clearance frames which included the lense price and she suggested since I was planning to only use my glasses for back up. I also opted to purchase a polarized pair of Maui Jims, you know to protect my beautiful blues against macular degeneration. With my Target RedCard, the total came to $345.75 for 6 months of contacts, back up glasses and sunglasses. I'm new to this but my understanding from friends is that's a pretty good deal. All in all, I had a great experience with Target Optical. If there was one thing that could make my experience better, it would a bit more privacy while learning how to use contacts. But this is Target so there's only so much I can expect with that one! Another plus? Because I had a recent optometrist appointment I was able to renew my driver's license online. This Target Optical location is as good as it gets and I'll definitely return to see Dr. Borden for my vision needs. read more

Very knowledgeable and caring staff. Walked me through the special going on and priced out a couple different options for me. They also gave me a courtesy call the day before my exam to remind me (which is typically a good sign that the business is organized and on top of their stuff). The people who work here are extremely helpful and enthusiastic. However, Target, being the highly appealing discount store it is, does not carry that reputation over into their optical department. In other words, their glasses are extremely overpriced. I was in to get a pair, and possibly a second, but the pair I wanted were light weight Ray-bans, however, after...yes, AFTER my vision insurance, the frames and the lenses for my prescription the total came to over $300! I'd go here for an eye exam again, but would never get my glasses from here. Outrageous pricing. read more

If I could give ZERO stars I would! They are very nice when you buy glasses, but be prepared for your glasses to NEVER be there when they say they will be! I was told 10-12 business days....they weren't there!...then they said 5 more days....not there!....then they told me that they weren't even sent yet, so I had to wait another 10 days! What?!!!! 27 days to get my glasses that should have been here in less than 12! Incompetent to say the least!!!! read more

I really love this Target, but their optical center not only has poor customer service (with the exception of one girl who is very friendly and helpful,) but their employees are obviously not trained on procedure as they should be. My first visit was very pleasant and I saw the doctor, and got a great deal on some backup glasses for my contacts. I called a few weeks after wearing my trial lenses, to make a followup appointment, and the girl told me that there was no need. I could just go in and pick my contacts up because they had been ordered. My contacts were bi-weekly, so I put a fresh pair on when I got home. During that week. my eyes would get very itchy and start to burn within an hour of putting the contacts on. I assumed that I had a bad pair because the trials were fine, and I wore my glasses for a few days, then switched to another pair. After a week or so of more burning and discomfort, I went into the office in person. The doctor was not there, but when the helpful girl saw my eyes, she insisted that I throw the pair away and wear my glasses for the weekend, seeing the doctor on Tuesday. She told me that I was probably allergic to the HydraClear in the new lenses. I showed up today, thinking, oh thank goodness I can be seen and talk to someone about getting a new pair of contacts. I walked in with my boxes and a woman I do not remember seeing asks if she can help me. I told her that I came in after work last week and had made an appointment. The girl that was there had told me to just walk in after work. There was no appointment made, so I was asked to have a seat. The woman at the counter tells me that they will not refund me for the boxes that I have opened, and that she has no idea what gave the other lady the idea that they would. I explained to her that I had to use medical reimbursement for the contacts, and that my job would not cover another two boxes. She went into the exam room and talked to the doctor. He comes out and I start to follow him to the exam room. He turns around and says, "the trials aren't in yet?" (I guess they were ordered after I left on Friday.) I explained to him that I wanted him to look at my eyes because I have had ulcers and I just wanted someone to take a look. I thought that I could get some drops prescribed or something. He insists that he can't look at them until the contacts come in. He asks me, "what makes you think that you had an allergic reaction?" I explained that I came in Friday and the woman told me that with what my eyes looked like, it was probably an allergic reaction, and that it happens all the time. He asked me to explain the problems that I was having, and then interrupted me to say that it just sounds like dry eye. He and the woman tell me that I cannot get the open boxes refunded or credited. I began to ask about what they suggest I do, because I can't get them covered again by my insurace, as I am only allowed one year's worth of contacts at a time, and they are both really rude with me, and shrug me off. The doctor says that I should make a point to keep in contact with them this time, as I failed to the last. I tried to tell him that I did call last time and that my contacts had already been ordered- I was never scheduled. He tells me that he is not associated with Target optical, and is his own entity, so I am not to direct inquiries to him. From there, they send me home. I am not seen in the exam room, and I leave feeling like a fool because in my mind I was going to be seen for my eye issues. To them, I was there to get something for free. I just feel that I was brushed off, and now I am going to take a financial hit that I didn't expect. read more

On December 12th we ordered and paid for a pair of glasses from this Target Optical. Four weeks later we're still waiting for them to be sent from their manufacturing center. We're getting excuse after excuse but still no glasses. Don't get your glasses here if you need them any time soon read more

I had a horrible horrible horrible experience at a different Target Optical in Aurora (see my other reviews) and I swore I would never go back to Target Optical. But in the end I'm lazy and shop at this Target 3-4 times a week because I live across the street. I stopped in to this Target Optical because I had a lens come out and needed to use the warranty. Mary, the beautiful and awesome store manager, was a joy to work with. She was so super friendly and helpful that it was like night and day to my last experience. I have since been back several times for eye exams, contacts and glasses and I love this store. the eye doctors are great and all the employees are super nice and helpful. I try to wait for Mary to help me whenever possible, because she is a joy to work with and genuinely cares. But my experience with all the employees here have been great. I went from Target Optical hater to loyal fan, thanks to Mary Aguilar and the rest of the staff here. read more
