Hello. I am a single mother on disability income only. I do not have vision insurance, so I had saved money for a month to be able to schedule an eye appt for new contacts. I have very poor vision, and was down to only one contact in my right eye. The situation was desperate. I was so excited to be getting new contacts. Every place was booked for weeks except for Target. I got a next day appt. I go in, with my four yr old daughter, and Dr Conway asks a couple of questions (yes, I hadn't been able to afford to take proper care of my eyes since my daughter was born, but had saved $ for this), then berates me and makes me feel terrible for not having the money to get new contacts sooner. She briefly looked in my right eye (the bad one) and exclaims "GROSS! That is just GROSS! I am not touching you. You're a liability. When you go blind I'm not being held liable for it." Then tells me to drive my one-eyed self and my daughter to Knox ( after telling me I'm a danger) to buy a "cheapie" pair of glasses, and THEN she'd see me. So although in her assessment , my eyes were horrible and "gross" yet she refused any kind of treatment for me whatsoever. All she wanted to talk about was how she had just sent the person ahead of me for a corneal transplant. She spoke to me so rudely, I left the office in tears. Even my little daughter asked, "Mom why did that lady talk to you so mean? She said you were gross." No wonder there was no waiting list. This dr Conway needs to be taught some people skills or shown the door. She was rude, condescending , and made me feel like I was receiving a verbal thrashing (I was). There are much more helpful and friendlier eye doctors than this woman. She's probably one of the worst doctors I've ever seen when it comes to dr/patient rapport. Awful. I'd give negative stars rating of possible. read more
