It's so convenient that the optometrist is here! Their website is so easy to use in scheduling appointments. I actually decided to come here since I had a poor experience with another local optometry office's staff. The layout of the optical area is very organized and clean. The staff were very friendly and efficient. They did call me a day in advance to confirm my appointment and to remind me to bring my glasses and contacts. They also did call me a week prior to confirm my insurance. Once I got there, they had me fill out a form regarding my health. Thereafter, the optometrist, Dr. Jennie Nguyen, saw me. She was very friendly, patient, thorough in her exam, and made sure my questions were answered. Unfortunately, you cannot pay with your Target card for copay, but you can use it for purchase of your glasses or contacts! It's pretty cool they have a range of brands for glasses, including the Target brand, A New Day. The staff didn't pressure me to purchase anything the same day, and were patient in explaining to me my insurance's optical benefits. In fact, it might have just encouraged me to come back and purchase from them. Overall, I was very happy with my experience and I would highly recommend! read more

If I could give no stars, I would. My family was seeing a different doctor elsewhere in Elk Grove for 13 years until our insurance switched. Decided to give Target Optical a try since it's down the street from my house. My experience was so unsatisfactory, I am willing to pay out of pocket for another exam elsewhere. I showed up 15 min before appt time and it wasn't even open yet. I like to come early to appointments in case there is paper work to fill out. Anyway, I'd just like to say that as soon as I was taken back to get my exam it just went downhill. I swear I heard the Dr huffing and puffing if I didn't have a fast enough response to "1 or 2" "3 or 4" when she didn't even repeat the process enough for me to decide which looked clearer to me. And then after giving me the trial pair of contacts and then doing the vision test, I couldn't see out of my left eye, and when I said that it was really blurry, her response with a bit of sass was, "I'm pretty sure I got the right prescription, but I'll go get another one". I mean, what? Then she said that I could possibly be losing a little vision in one of my eyes and that I have glaucoma and should get it checked. Well, I have always gotten a yearly exam with an optometrist as well as an opthalmologist due to my risk of possibly getting glaucoma. Her "results" were quite extreme compared to what I've been told in years past. Especially since nothing tragic has happened to me since getting checked. I felt so rushed out of my appointment and left feeling like, "what just happened here?". I told my family not to bother even making an appointment here because it's not worth it. If you read all the way here, thank you. PS it wasn't the named doctor that saw me. It was a different lady not Dr Nguyen. read more

I had a great experience at Target Optical! Khrizza and Miguel were such help when I asked if they could fix my glasses since they were getting a bit wonky! They were quick fast and super nice can't wait to buy my new glasses there after my next eye doctor apppointment ! read more

Horrible customer service including lies about what the warranty is and what's included. Penny wouldn't help me obtain any of my information regarding my prescription for vision. I was waiting for a fax and she never intended on sending it either. After knowing I wasn't coming back she kept me waiting. Never called me back with the information either. I will never come back! read more

Dr. Nuygen, Jennie is a diamond - She thoroughly took her time addressing all my concerns Im starting to see floaters more than average and I started seeing flashing lights at my peripheral vision. Dr. took her time and truly explained everything in a simple medical term and she definitely eased all of my concerns and genuinely really wanted to make sure all of my questions were answered. I did have a lot and I was really interested on division process it's really interesting and it's always nice to see a doctor give feedback on the actual anatomy with passion. Dr. Nuygen is 100% the best optometrist I've seen and I have been wearing contacts since 13yrs old- thank you Dr. See you near year read more

I wish my decision on writing this review was different but unfortunately it's not I gave this place three chances an it's been the same song an dance sad because I really did like Dr. Nguyen she was awesome, sweet, an professional an because of her I purchased three pairs in the last two years but the thing that ruined it for me was Penny the store manager she's very unprofessional, passive aggressive attitude, an her demeanor toward me was just all wrong we should feel comfortable coming to places like this, an well informed but she made it feel the complete opposite not just to me but to my wife as well made us feel like we are wasting her time I had to call other location to get information I needed which I should not have to do but not here nonetheless this was my last visit an I will be taking my business somewhere else. read more

With a change in insurance and a move to Elk Grove, I decided to look for a new eye doctor. Had no idea that Target had an optical office inside so I decided to try it, this wasn't listed on the approved doctors list but i figured if there were three other Target optical stores listed, Elk Grove should have one. They did and I had a great experience with Dr.Nguyen. She took her time with my contact fitting since I hadn't worn contacts in awhile and because of Covid-19, wearing a mask constantly made wearing glasses not easy. I still wanted new glasses and I got the prescription for those too. It was easy to find a pair that I liked, just had to remember that if you try one you have to put it in a bin to be cleaned before they put it back out. read more

The eye exam and experience with the doctor were amazing. The selection of frames was great. HOWEVER, I patiently waited three weeks for my glasses to be done (was told it would take 2-3 weeks) and when I called was told it will be AT LEAST another week. I was given the excuse that Target had to close two of their labs so there is a backup. This is unacceptable to me. I switched from my regular optometrist to Target for convenience and the experience has been anything BUT convenient. If you can wait 4-5 weeks to get your glasses, then pick Target Optical, if not, DO NOT GO HERE. read more

The doctor is awesome. Don't get me wrong. she's very knowledgeable and explains things thoroughly. Also the price isn't bad for an eye and contact lens exam. The one receptionist penny is my only issue. I called to ask a simple question she tried to tell me I was wrong when I literally have proof. Then proceeds to look and see I was right and changed her whole attitude. If this business wants to thrive I suggest telling penny to fix her arrogant attitude. I wish I could give 5 stars but after my call today it went down. Anyways, thank you doctor for the easy and fast appointment. read more

Please do not waste your time coming here. I have never in my life been treated so dismissively in my life. I came here and got a prescription for contacts and glasses. I bought a pair of glasses elsewhere and ordered my contacts through my insurance. Once my contacts ran out I started wearing my glasses and I noticed the fish owl effect would never go away. It felt like my eyes would cross every time I put my glasses on. I went to vision works to order my contacts through VSP and told them about my glasses and the fish bowl issue. They checked out the lenses and said they are set for a bad astigmatism. So, they tested my eyes and said the astigmatism I have is very minor maybe the other place had a typo. So I take my report and go to this place and speak with the wretched lady up front and she blows me off and says the test is subjective and it's my fault?! Then she goes and speaks to the Dr and comes out and says it's been 7 months you need a new prescription anyways and there's nothing we did wrong and there is nothing we can do! Just a complete lack of accountability and professionalism. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. read more

Such a wonderful place and wonderful and friendly workers here. I bought my glasses here and everyone that was there helped me pick out my glasses. I wanted something light but durable and of course looked good. Took about 15-30 mins to find the right ones, but they were so patient with me. Also, take advantage of their deals that are happening every so often and use your Targrt Red Card (you'll save 5%!). They also clean your glasses for free and are always welcoming. read more

I give target optical five star because Dr. Jennie Nguyen was nice, patient and took her time to explain every procedure. Everybody was helpful, from scheduling to picking up what frames and lenses. I didn't feel pressured to buy any of the add ons, not like other optical shop who works for commission. I would definitely recommend this place for their excellent customer service!! read more

Amazing! I was shopping at target and I lost one of the nose pads on my glasses, I went to ask if they possibly had one I could buy or something and the ladies there took my glasses and gave me 2 new ones, and even put a new screw in where I was missing one. Very very friendly, the place I get my glasses aren't even this nice and I'm not even their patient. :) thank u Michelle and penny!! ! read more

Thanks to natalie. Great customer service and helped to quickly resolve and issue I had... great place to get an exam and frames

Dr. Nguyen is awesome and so thorough! If you need an eye exam, definitely go to her. She took her time to listen to my concern and even offered different type of contacts for me try because my eyes were being dried out. Make sure to book an appointment in advance because she is usually booked! read more

Oh, how I wish you guys opened sooner before paying almost $300 for eyeglasses at another Optometry center in Laguna. The selection of men's glasses are affordable and their selection of Ray-Ban is amazing! I was able to bring my prescription in and purchase glasses (ray-ban in particular) at a great price. Employees were very nice and accommodating. They stated that it takes ten days for your glasses to arrive but mine came in five which was awesome. The only issue is how I wish they were closer to the entrance rather than next to the Pharmacy. I didn't need the Target employees staring me down as I exited the store without buying a item. read more

The entire staff was amazing and friendly. They made my first eye exam so smooth and easy. The doctor explained everything so well and was very friendly. Choosing glasses was fun, the staff helped me pick the perfect glasses and didn't rush at all. They were very knowledgeable of all the promotions going on to help get me the best deal AND they worked with my insurance even though it was out of network! I would recommend to friends and family without question. read more

Had a great experience at Target Optical. Penny was great and cheerful and service was quick! Would definitely come back to get my glasses fixed. A1 customer service! read more

I want to acknowledge Penny who was so accommodating & knowledgeable. When I called regarding loosening up my glasses... she flat out told me just to bring them in... they were in such HORRIFIC condition... she honestly said she didn't think could even do anything about them but she would try if I gave her 30 min. She did tell me there was a possibility they may end up breaking and if so would that be ok. I put my trust in her & came back in 30 min. Penny not only fixed them but cleaned & provided a case! There was no charge for her service! Now that's GREAT SERVICE! I would also like to mention her co-worker Linda as well who made me feel comfortable & was also knowledgeable. They are both GREAT! read more
