I am trying to find the place to write a review for the Cranberry Optical Center. I think this is the first time in my 45 years of life that I have taken the time to write a negative review. Unfortunately I have a bad taste in my mouth. I live 30 to 45 minutes away depending on traffic. The ONLY reason I chose Target optical was to get new BIFOCAL glasses and my insurance offered a deal with Target for FREE frames. The only positive experience was the "independent" Dr. Lawson. She was outstanding with the service, and assisting me with getting the right eye wear. An associate, Michelle, started the process on July 20. She was very personable. After my eye exam, she stated that her shift was over and the office manager, Jodi, would assist me. That is where is all went down hill. She was very aggressive with her sales technique, and was almost condescending in her approach with "shaming" me for my choice of bifocal instead of progressives. She also questioned me on my pricing that I could get on contacts and knew that Target could not match the price. I had to actual show her the receipt I had from the other company to prove the price I told her was actually the price I paid. My husband was with me and observed how she even arrogantly spoke with the other new associate while I was in the exam. I recapped with her the pricing that included a bifocal and what my insurance would cover. She processed my HSA card incorrectly and had to issue a refund. I NEVER received a call when the glasses were in. I had to call in twice to check on them. Finally I received a call back from Danielle that stated they were ready. I drove to Cranberry to pick them up wearing my contacts. I patiently waited while the same manager, Jodi was assisting another client. I heard her speak to that client in the same aggressive tone, trying to upsell her. Almost "shaming" her for not wanting polarized sunglasses because they impaired her driving vision. Finally I got my glasses and not being able to see out of them due to my contacts being in, and I was on my way to a surprise birthday party and was in a hurry. When I got home, I found out my glasses did not even have a bifocal. That was the whole reason I made the appointment. I stated that when I originally entered my appointment, when I talked to the doctor, told Jodi I wanted the line for the bifocal and not the progressive, recapped it again with the manager. She did not place the order correctly. When I called back on Sunday, August 11th, I spoke with Stephanie, who stated I had to come back into the office to get remeasured. Stephanie stated there my be an upcharge. I told her we recapped the price and my husband was present, the glasses I paid for included the bifocal. I said, Jodi did all that and it should be in the system. She said it was not. So I had to drive in another hour and 30 minutes on the road to get remeasured for bifocal. Stephanie did state on the phone if their is an upcharge, she will waive it to get me to drive in. I came into the optical center on Tuesday August 13. Stephanie was there but stayed back in the stock room. Danielle handle my remeasurement. Now I have to go back for a 4th time, driving for another 1 hour 30 minutes to have my glasses corrected due to Target Opticals Mistake. Truly I understand mistakes happen. However, NO ONE has apologized to me. NO ONE has been accountable for the mistake. They just kept pushing it off, NO ACCOUNTABILITY! No offer to make it right. Except for no upcharge, which should have NEVER been charged in the first place, Jodi quoted the $130 after insurance that included the bifocal. First, I would appreciate accountability for the mistake, an apology would be appreciated. But more importantly, the staff needs to be respectful to clients. read more
