Today I had a 6 week follow up at their office located in the Surgery Center (next to House of Chen). I was checked in promptly. The waiting room was very large and spacious. I did have a rather lengthy wait today though, my appointment time was 3 PM and I did not see the doctor until four and I didn't get out of there until almost 430. However, I feel that the staff at this practice is much more professional and thorough than the other two eye care providers that I've seen between 2020-23 in Cranberry Township. This is where they do surgeries and have ophthalmology appointments. It gets confusing because the same doctors are also often at their Good Looks Eyewear location for regular optometric appointments.

I repeatedly contacted them within the first month and told them my glasses were not working out. The Dr. for some reason changed my prescription then had to re do it again. I got regular glasses and sunglasses. Unfortunately, I moved in July of 2024 and continued to have issues with my glasses. I called 7 times to get assistance. No one ever called me back. Four of the calls went into voicemail and 3 I talked with different woman who were working at the time. They all assured me that they were going to take my message to the Dr. and she would return my call. This NEVER happened. My sunglasses that I paid a very high amount for, broke. I called again to tell them that the glasses were only 6 months old and the arm broke off. Nobody got back with me. I am livid about the service. These glasses should have been under a warranty. I am now in Colorado and went to another eye dr., and they expressed how this office should have replaced these glasses. I called again and left another message with no response. I also called to have my prescription faxed to my new eye doctor and no one returned my call. This is UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!! I paid out of pocket over $1,000.00 for my glasses. I tried contacting through the website and all remarks are blocked. Hmmmm???? I wonder why??? Doesn't take much to figure that one out. The glasses were not suitable for me as they caused me to trip and stumble due to the poor design. Should I now get an attorney? I feel I deserve my money back. I went Pittsburgh Optical(formerly Cranberry eye care) on 6/6/2020. When I entered I saw a very…read moreclean and open office that displayed hundreds of different glasses that patient's could try on. The receptionist (and everyone in the office was wearing a mask Covid-19) and were very friendly. She kindly asked me to fill out some paperwork and took me to the testing room right away. There she instructed me to thoroughly wash my hands while she cleaned all the machines as well as the chair(including the arms) that I was about to take a sit in for the tests. She explained to be what each machine was going to test and answered any questions I had. I later was taken to the exam room where I met Dr. Michael Huert. He was such a friendly guy! He took his time to address all of my concerns and made sure I would have a new pair of contact lenses to take home that day. I suffer from severe seasonal allergies and he gave me his recommendations to keep my eyes healthy. Check out went very smoothly and in about 1 week I got an email to pick up my contacts. I would highly recommend Pittsburgh Optical because the staff and the service is top notch!

I called my insurance company and confirmed the doctor and facility were in network and got a referral. I was called from the office that my appointment needed to be canceled and rescheduled and the next available was 2 months out. I alreadyed waited 4 months but ok. Showed to the appointment and was turned away because they wouldn't accept my insurance. I asked why when this was verified at scheduling? The receptionist could only say i was told no. I asked why they didnt call me before hand? Why didnt you verify my insurance before I showed up and wasted my time? She said i dont know, i dont do that. I asked to call her billing department and she said theres no department, just people who work from home. I asked if they had a phone number and she did give. No one would tell me why they wouldnt take my insurance and waiting 6 months for this appointment to be told then. Absolutely ridiculous. The receptionist had little to no knowledge and could only offer me a sticker for my trouble. Then 3 days later i received and automated text stating it was time to schedule my next appointment. This place is a joke. I cant speak for the doctors but the office staff are costing you time and money.
