I called and scheduled an appointment, gave my insurance information to the scheduler who verified they accepted. I called my insurance company and confirmed the doctor and facility were in network and got a referral. I was called from the office that my appointment needed to be canceled and rescheduled and the next available was 2 months out. I alreadyed waited 4 months but ok. Showed to the appointment and was turned away because they wouldn't accept my insurance. I asked why when this was verified at scheduling? The receptionist could only say i was told no. I asked why they didnt call me before hand? Why didnt you verify my insurance before I showed up and wasted my time? She said i dont know, i dont do that. I asked to call her billing department and she said theres no department, just people who work from home. I asked if they had a phone number and she did give. No one would tell me why they wouldnt take my insurance and waiting 6 months for this appointment to be told then. Absolutely ridiculous. The receptionist had little to no knowledge and could only offer me a sticker for my trouble. Then 3 days later i received and automated text stating it was time to schedule my next appointment. This place is a joke. I cant speak for the doctors but the office staff are costing you time and money. read more

To save time, I paid the $45 co-pay when I entered the Warrendale office . After being called to the Dr. under the wrong name, I returned to the waiting area for another attempt. That Dr. informed me that the issue I wanted to address was not under her purview and I'd need another appointment. I was given the usual drops and released--with dilated pupils--into an extremely sunny parking lot. I was not offered disposable sunglasses and I was not given a solution to dissolve the dilation (apparently the former solution was unsafe). I sat for two hours before I could see well enough to drive (and that was questionable). The office was very busy. Obviously too busy. read more

Large waiting area, and I can see why! My father and I waited for almost 45 minutes after his scheduled appointment time to be seen. Going to this office for my father's cataract referral, it definitely feels like a factory. You'll go from the main waiting room to an exam room, but after the eye dilation there, you wait in another area before being called to a different exam room to finally meet with the doctor. Plenty of people were waiting along the way. Although my father hasn't had his cataract surgery yet, scheduling took way too long. You're told to wait three weeks to expect a call from the scheduler, but I never did hear from them. Four weeks after his appointment, I left two voicemails for the scheduler who never did call me back. I finally reached them on a call five days later. Plan to not have your surgery until about two months after your initial visit, and pack your patience when calling the scheduling department; they weren't too polite. read more

Open waiting areas with an adult and kids section as your family needs necessitate. Staff is kind and professional. Felt adequate time was spent addressing our questions, and clearly describing any issues and steps forward. Reasonably short wait time, and staff was on the ball to get us after sufficient time passed for eye dilation. read more

Very disappointing to be at an eye doctor where you have to wait +45 minutes for a routine eye exam. The scheduling here really needs to be fixed. A lot of time can be saved by giving people the right appointment the first time. Names being called of people that aren't even here. I happily go somewhere else. Listening to the impeachment hearings for over an hour while I wait for someone I care about makes the time go slower. Great doctors terrible system in-front of them. read more

After spending nearly an hour (over 2 days) on hold to inform them that I'd be about 10 min late for my 2:50 appointment, I finally reached a live voice who advised me to come anyway and I'd be seen. Upon entering at 3:02, a miserable old brunette behind a desk told me that I was "very late" and she'll check if the doctor will see me. After what I expect was a fake check, she said I couldn't be seen because he's moved on to the next patient. She offered a reschedule which I refused. This place is a factory and won't miss my business but I'll never go there again, my son will stop going there, and I'd advise anyone to look elsewhere. read more

First I want to say how professional and understanding Dr. Hoover was. Unfortunately, the rest of his staff drops this business to a one star rating. This business agreed to see 100% service connected veterans for eye care. A veteran who has a 100% rating has lost two limbs, has been a POW, has extreme health issues due to Agent Orange, or other EXTREME deformities such as burbs, paralysis etc...The staff told me that because they were only reimbursed on the level someone one Medicaid was, I was had to pay for drops to in-dilate my eyes, as well as my prescription that Dr. Hoover had given me (Dr Hoover gave it to me, but I had to give it back to get the drops to get the drops to undue the dilation, which I refused to pay for as I felt this was extortion). Thankfully my mom lives in Sewickley Heights, and I could take back roads, and not wreck (as I refused to be extorted) to get onto her house. I love being with my mom who is 89 years old, but I wanted to take her to get her hair done, and I couldn't. It took 5 hours for my pupils to get back to normal. I guess this business has lawyers who advise them how to extort patients, because having a professional license myself I realize what they are doing violates the codes of any medical board (probably the reason they refuse to give the last name and licensed position of their employees). read more
