There are two Target stores in close proximity to where I live. I opted to go to the Hicksville store which is the one closer to my house, a few hours ago. I usually go to any Target anticipating a frustration free experience but this time it was different. I used my app receipt and I did not want to hold up the line searching for how to scan to return. When I asked the older lady with the glasses for help with finding the barcode she shrugged her shoulders and said "that just says that you purchased it but there's nothing for me to scan." (Uuummm... Lady it's a receipt, of course it says that I purchased it, that's what receipts do). The younger employee who had her hair pulled up knew how to do it because she was simultaneously processing an app receipt and I told her that. Instead of her asking her coworker, she shrugged me off. For a can of damn near expired carnation milk? I only bought it December 5 and when I went to use it the expiration date is the 24th...definitely not to my expectations. She should have happily offered to her employee for help. Instead she acted like it was $1000 item without proof of purchase. I've never heard of that in my life. I am showing her my app receipt and she doesn't know how to process the return. That doesn't make sense to leave a customer hanging like that when it's the Target team that pushes for the use of the app in the first place. I walked away so I wouldn't hold up the line any further and I figured it out myself. At the top of the receipt was the return link that I didn't notice at first. Thank God the younger lady was the one who processed my return in the end. That ticked me off because as a person who works with the public I would never leave a client hanging like that. And the solution was too simple to not address expediently. read more

This is probably one of the worst Target stores I've ever shopped in. They are under stocked and very unorganized. They never have what I am looking for and I have to wind up going to the Westbury store. I asked a salesperson why they are so under stocked and they responded to me by saying this is a smaller store and most of the items get shipped to the bigger stores. That is just poor management every time you walk into a Walmart whether the store is big or small they are always stocked fully with merchandise. I shop here weekly since I work nearby and I have to say this location probably has the WORSE cashiers! It's like they hire the slowest of the slow!! Turtles could ring you up faster and more efficient! Every time I have to tell them to put the cold groceries in their own bag and not in with the shaving cream/eyeliner/ other crap i bought... this should NOT be rocket science and should be COMMON knowledge... I mean I know they are paying minimum wage, but really?? Do they get any training? Do they know that I'd really like to wrinkle up my brand new shirt by putting it in with a bag of oranges? if you go here, pack patience like I do and realize that once you walk in you are SURROUNDED by STUPID! read more

I don't think I've ever walked into a Target I didn't like... not even one in New Jersey! This one is pretty solid. It has all the staples necessary for a Target; a great electronics dept. funny graphic tees, good men's department and a starbucks. Win win win. Allow me a rant for just a minute though... what's with the new craze to make those awesome graphic tees in JUST "athletic style" being a person of the husky persuasion, I simply cannot wear athletic style. The sheer fact that they make XXL's with the athletic style racks my brain! What true XXL would want this? Why are they not making classics any more?!?! Just a simple classic fit t-shirt of some Angry Birds, or Kramer and his famous Seinfeld portrait, or Yoda with a backwards hat saying something about how gangster he is. C'mon people! Probably the thing keeping Broadway Mall alive at this point. Your one stop shop and part time parking lot. The train station parking lot cost money and its always full right away. You can park in the Target parking lot all day. They don't care, they expect you to be in Target for hours on end anyway. If you need everything from pre-packaged meat to windshield wipers to subpar kids toys come to Target. They even have a bathroom. Listen New Yorkers don't need to go into Target. We got a nice selection of stores as is already. The Targets down south are so much better anyway. They sell guns and fireworks! I mean its aight. The huge plus about this Target is on Black Friday its not as crazy as the other Targets. If you are trying to get a deal then hitting this Target up is a good idea. read more

You get 3 hrs of free parking ! That's a rarity! Especially in 2nd Chinatown. But they made it that way to lure people like me to go! The place is alright. Reasons I say is cause it gets so crazy over here that I rather travel further down to White Stone and shop there. At least I don't feel like I'm being attack by other shopping carts. I like this Target. They're always stocked well they pick up clothing that falls on the floor immediately unlike some stores where it stays all day on the floor for people to step over it. And a big plus is the bathrooms are always clean at least from the man's side. read more

why is it that there is NEVER any staff on the floor? Took me fifteen minutes just to find an associate on the floor for her who did not help me because it was not her department. And when I went to customer services and told them I had a hard time finding an employee on the floor the employee gave me a passive-aggressive attitude. There were also five or six other employees just standing behind the customer service counter with no employees on the floor. Terrible management. Wow. Apparently Target's online orders are now fulfilled in stores, and I had the bad luck of being chosen for a package to ship from here. Slow as sloths is a good phrase for the process. I have orders that were placed days afterwards that are well on their way, but this one is just sitting there. Maybe they forgot about it, maybe it's lost, or maybe they're just too damn lazy to hand it over to UPS. I'll go with the last option. I know it's the holiday season, but it's been almost five days. If I could give it less than one star I would. When getting on a self checkout there was a nasty worker making racist comments referring to Asians in a derogatory manner. This checkout worker then tried to get another Caucasian customer talking bad and calling me a rude and nasty person with no morals. The worker then proceeded to talk to another worker who happened to be of Indian decent saying "I can't take these people we aren't in the country!" They then proceeded to talk negatively about my mother and I while trying to rile up other people on the checkout line. How degrading !!!! What happened to customer service and being nice. One of the workers was nice and told us he understood and would get the manager for us and apologized. (at least there's a few people who know how to treat customers) Just because you are partially Asian doesn't warrant that you don't speak English and are not a citizen. I am horrified. I myself am half Asian and half Caucasian. I am a U.S. Citizen. I was born here on Long Island and ONLY speak English. I have a Masters Degree and am not an uneducated person! Racially profiled at this target. It took everything in me not to report these ladies at self checkout. She moved to my checkout right when i came. And stayed there. Then she had to go on break and another lady came and asked her if she has to look out for anything and the other lady looked at me. So the lady covering stood by my checkout. Will never go here again I used to love this target until the "guest services" manager showed me exactly how a customer service manager should NEVER act and conveniently the store manager was not there at this time either or so she said. I have never see anyone use such little common sense and unprofessionalism in my life. Bought something damaged and could not even get help from anyone on something that should have been so simple. Corporate will be sure to hear about this matter as well because I think a few more training classes before becoming a manager is needed. On Nov 8th at 3:40pm, Bonnie from The Broadway Mall Target in Hicksville felt the need to lecture me on the three different types of shelves and its merchandise in such a sarcastic and extremely rude manner when I placed an item one shelf over. I felt this was unnecessary, uncalled for, condescending, and unprofessional. I never would expect this from a well known store such as Target but it was so rude that I also felt the need to post this in all social media outlets. She needs better customer service training or replace with employees with a better attitude towards work. Great place, your typical Target plus produce. Yummy fresh baked bread. My only complaint is that the Starbucks is horrific, but I suppose it's not a stand alone so maybe should lower my expectations. Two memorable incidents. 1) Barista rings me up for my drink only to inform me that they're out of the sweetener for my drink. When I ask for a refund, she is confused why I want a refund. Hmph. 2) Here my drink is frequently made with lemonade, which I don't want and costs extra. The barista rolled his eyes today when I asked for my actual drink and a refund of the difference. That .80 morphs into 2.86 for my drink! Maybe I should stop going there? I just can't resist the Starbucks pull. read more

This review comes after I took the Target survey on their receipt & received an email from Michele Graham, the "Guest Experience Executive Team Lead". I wrote a lengthy email addressing why I was dissatisfied, had no further correspondence received from this person, so therefore, I'm expressing what happened, on here. I did email Michele Graham back letting her know I would be writing this review. First let me say, it's Target; it should be a relaxing, stress free, fun place to shop at, but in recent years, my love for Target has diminished & I do not frequent this company the way I used to. Based on customer service, I don't foresee myself going back to being the Targetaholic I once was. I will continue to shop here (the Hicksville location) despite it being out of my way, b/c this seems to be the ONLY place that sells a particular yogurt. I was actually IN Levittown (where there's a Target), but came here, for the yogurt. The yogurts I wanted, there were only 3 & 1 was almost 2 WEEKS PAST THE BEST BY DATE. Delicious. I was able to have a raincheck, but I'm glad I checked dates before I made my purchase. I was seemingly forced to use the self checkout since there were only 2 'real' registers w/ long lines. The employee at the self checkout area, Christine/Christina...maybe she was having a bad day, but when I needed assistance (& during my extended time at the self checkout, 2 other customers needed assistance too), she wasn't even at the area she was supposed to be manning b/c she was getting bags. The register locked me out after I scanned just 1 of my handful of coupons. This employee seemed to have an attitude from the very start.She told me my coupon didn't work b/c I didn't scan the item. This comment came after obviously my items were scanned & bagged. I was spending nearly $100 & she essentially accused me of trying to steal a $3 chocolate. She then voided my entire purchase to scan it all herself. She also acted like she was doing me a favor by taking off the $1 coupon (I verified up the aisle that the item I picked matched the coupon), which didn't work for her either. Not sure if this location has an issue w/ theft/coupons at self checkout, but that's not my problem. When I asked her about the credit I received for using a bag I had bought in, she told me that this isn't Suffolk county & they don't charge for bags. You have an employee w/ attitude & doesn't know you give credit for using your own bags? I had 2 more coupons (for covergirl) that didn't come off & this employee claimed she couldn't take them b/c they were "high value" ($2 & $3) & I had to wait for someone else to come over. The entire time, she kept saying, "I'm trying to help you", really? That's why I was at the self checkout for over 15 minutes!!! When the employee Carmen finally came over, I was told the coupons didn't come off b/c the items were clearance. She took the coupons off, but someone please explain if something is clearance, on sale or regular price, what does that matter when the manufacturer pays it back? I left here after this debacle embarrassed, annoyed & basically twitching. Customer service & open registers in most Targets seem to be an issue, but the way I was spoken to & treated here on this visit isn't acceptable. Please have more registers open during volume times & train your employees not to have an attitude/give a customer attitude. read more

Target is Walmarts classier sister. Im going to Texas next month and needed some stuff. Swimsuit, sandals, sunblock etc and found everything i needed and more. You go to Target for milk and come home with a popcorn maker, candles, waffles and sheets. You cannot go to Target and just buy one thing ever. They also have a dirt cheap snack bar so i might have had a pretzel and soda too. Love it. read more

I think Target is a good store for the most-part. I was in target in Broadway Mall in Hicksville, NY on Friday to buy Chanukah gifts for my little cousins. In the process of shopping, I wanted to buy Chanukah wrap and cards. Could you believe that they did not have anything for Chanukah. Due to the location of that store, many Jewish people shop there. There is absolutely no excuse for a store that big, and that popular, surrounded by towns where many Jews live, not to have anything for Chanukah. read more

My friend and I wanted to get the wubble bubble but they didn't have the right one. So we asked a Target team member to look in the back. We waited for 20 minutes and nothing. The "team member" went out the other door and didn't say anything. The least you could do was lie and say you checked but there was nothing and not waste my precious time. All we wanted was to have a fun time wubbling and this lady ruined our day. It's such a shame because I love Target and now I'm pissed. That's 20 minutes of my life I'm never getting back. So after going to Hicksville target a 6th time, one of the managers named Shawn resolved the problem in less than 5 minutes which had me mindblown. Audini who is a main manager at the Westbury location in New york, which is one of the best operational Targets across the country, helped resolved the problem as well. Target mobile at Hicksville really screwed me over big time. Never ever buy devices from any target mobile because it is separated from Target as a whole. I had spoke with Shawn on the phone and described my situation which he did not know about, he apologized and solved the problem very well. Even made up for some of the money lost from gas through apologetic coupons. I do not recommend hicksville target however some of the employees there i know are well but work for a location with a bad reputation. read more

This target is pretty organized compared to most. I also noticed the prices are better here than the one's in Levittown, Garden City, and Whitestone. The employees are usually helpful and if you cant find what you need here they will check stock at other stores for you if you ask nicely. read more

If there was an option for 0 stars I would've chosen it. Yesterday (April 10 2016 at 7:50pm) my parents and I went to the local target to pick up a few things before we were heading over to a family members home for dinner. As we picked up our pet food and supplies, that we regularly purchase from target, we decided to pick up a toy for my nephew. Once we chose the toy we continued on down the hallway with our cart. As we were passing the electronic section my parents insisted that they wanted to buy me the Samsung gear 2 watch for my birthday. I am a disabled veteran and just retired from the Army on March 25, 2016. This is the first birthday my parents get to spend with me after 4 years. After initially saying no because I didn't want them to waste money my parents convinced me to have a look and see if I like it. There were female two associates standing there. A black female and white female. The white female looked somewhat busy with her register and had a customer come up to her with some question so my dad decided to ask the black female what she knew about the watch and if they had it. Instead of walking over and telling us about it she stood at her spot and told her that it was in such and such cabinet on the bottom. Took us a minute or two to locate it ourselves and had more questions about it. When we asked about the price she didn't know it from the top of her head (which is fine) but came over, looked at the tags on the bottom shelf and decided to point it out to us using her feet. Are you kidding me? She had no motivation to be there. She looked like she was lazy and probably hates her job but still takes the hourly paycheck home. The best part of this entire thing was when I asked her if she could let me see the box or if they had a sample piece like the rest of the watches so we can see it before purchasing it. Her exact response was "you have to buy it if you want to see it" I was annoyed at the way her facial expressions were made and decided to let that slide because some people just have the "resting bitch face" but the tone in her voice had me ticked off. I asked her "how can I purchase the watch without even seeing it in person" and she replied saying "well we don't have it on display and we can't take it out unless you buy it so if you want to see it you have to buy it" I just want to say that if that is really a target policy then I will probably never shop there again because if I can't see a watch that cost over $300 (according to the sign my parents and I were pointed towards by her disgusting feet) then why make the purchase there? While my parents and I kept a confused look on our faces we were more annoyed than any thing else. My dad then said at least let's just pay for our stuff we have and leave and the white female interrupts him and says "unfortunately we can't ring up those items here so you will..." I just interrupted her and said I wouldn't want to get it scanned here anyways and walked off with our cart to the main checkout aisles. The point of this long story is that I have never seen such horrible customer service in the entire New York city area. Customers should always be taken cared of and respected. We run your store and help you make your goals and pay your salary. Don't talk to us like we are beneath you. I'm not saying I should be favored because I'm a veteran or anything like that but at least have the common sense and common courtesy to do your damn job. If you don't want to do your job right then get out so some one else who needs a job can fulfill their duty. I really hope anyone from management looks at their store tapes and takes strict action.
