OK, total clownery. I ordered a couple of items online, to be picked up in the store. I wanted curbside pickup. This was done in the Target app. I received a notification that the order was ready and to click a button to let them know I was coming - only the button then took me to a screen that said that no order was there to be picked up. Again, screen 1 says that the order is ready for pickup, screen 2 says that no order is there. So, I get in my car, drive to the store and go to customer service. I third in line, waiting for a woman with a cart full of Christmas decorations to return each and every item in the cart - all of which were obviously used. The poor clerk was alone and was struggling to scan all this stuff while she was shuffling through her receipts trying to find the correct receipt. Totally outrageous, she decorated her place for free, returning all this stuff. No surprise stuff is expensive when there are abusers of the system like this. Meanwhile more and more people lined up behind me. When it was my turn at the counter, the clerk had to leave the counter to go to their stockroom to get my stuff. By then there were probably 15 people waiting. So, something broken in the app and way too generous return policies lead to bad service. We all pay for this nonsense. read more

Self-checkout is convenient, though it can get a bit busy. They have a good amount of selection in the grocery section. We spend thousands at Target but not anymore!!! Target is a joke. I had my babylist registry linked to Target and has so many people purchase gifts for me. I received a welcome baby box gift offer and was told even though it says redeem in store I couldn't. I had to pay for shipping. I also made a $200 purchase and was told that the 15% registry discount couldn't be applied. I called customer service and they said I couldn't have used the discount and I would have to take everything back to the store to have them apply the discount. When I already tried to do that. NEVER AGAIN!!! I'm returning everything getting my money back and never shopping at Target. I'll stick to Amazon and kohls. read more

Used 3 gift cards at this store back in April, but one couldn't be used because I was making a purchase of another giftcard along with other items. I couldn't exceed the value of the items and apply it to the new giftcard I was buying, so the associate used two of my three giftcards and gave me back the third one. I thought the one she returned to me was my $100 giftcard, and put it in my purse. I came back a different day to shop and took out my final giftcard to pay and they told me it had a $0 balance. I immediately realized the associate had apparently given me back one of my used giftcards with a $0 balance instead of the $100 one. I went to customer service after and they couldn't help me in person and referred me to a customer service number. They couldn't help me either because I didn't have the card information. I said well obviously I don't have the giftcard number as the associate kept it (hopefully accidentally and didn't sneakily steal it). They said well do you have the receipt? I said no because it was a gift from my baby shower, which was over 3 years ago. They told me to go talk to the person who bought it...are they kidding? I had 50 people at this baby shower from 3 years ago. I forgot who gave it to me and I doubt the person who gifted it to me has their receipt or even remembers anything about it. The customer service rep. said they couldn't do anything (and that she was the "highest" level of command), even though this is a huge store chain. I have no doubt they have the power to rectify the situation. I said well is there anything else you can do because this isn't my mistake but a store mistake. I didn't lose my card, or misplace it at home. I trusted your associate with it and trusted her to give me back the correct giftcard. Custom service said no they couldn't do ANYTHING and said "well we have no information to go off." Again, whose fault is that?!! Target has systems in place to track these giftcards, so please don't tell me that you can't do anything. Obviously, you guys just don't want to rectify the situation nor did you even try to accommodate me for the mistake or give a lousy 5% off next purchase or even apologize in any significant way. What a terrible terrible giant chain store. Walmart is so much better at customer service and service in general. Apparently Target is okay with $100 being taken from the customer due to a mistake by their employee and don't even care to try and salvage the relationship with their customer (Walmart does way more for their customers for way less, by the way). I'm a loyal customer of both chains. Target is a total scammer if they can't figure out how to track this down. Obviously there is a full $100 giftcard with their used ones that they recycle and yet they can't figure out how to get me back my giftcard nor try to make ANY type of amends. Conveniently located right off the freeway to get any last minute items. The store itself can get a bit unruly and messy at times, I've never had an issue finding anything I've needed. Decent prices, good selections across a variety of brands. Parking lot can be a bit chaotic with all the signs to help pedestrians cross into and from the store front. read more

Nothing extraordinary, however being asked unprompted, not even in his department, if there's anything he can help with was a refreshing surprise b/c it doesn't seem too happen often, including at this store. I came to target this morning, nice and early to beat the crowd go and do my shopping only for them to tell me that their system has been down. They can't accept gift cards. They can't give you your rewards. They basically can't do anything, but instead of posting something on the damn door, they allow all of us to waste our time shopping only to tell us they can't service us and when you ask them, why isn't there a sign? Oh it would require us to talk to a team leader OK we'll do that.! read more

Escondido's first Target (the other one is in the mall), and it's busy from open to close. This store is one of the locations that has it all; Starbucks, food court, clothing, household goods and appliances, toys, sporting goods, seasonal, automotive, electronics, crafts (cloth, yarn, etc), hygiene, pharmacy, and a well stocked grocery section (complete with produce, frozen, dry goods, dairy, snacks, and alcohol). It's a one stop shop. They do a pretty good job at checkout. They have two large rows of self checkout with one or two employees on hand for those pesky errors. They also have a well staffed customer service desk. The traditional check outs seem to always be staffed very well too. For the volume of customers at this location, the store is surprisingly clean. There are always staff around to help and they appear to do a good job keeping the place stocked. My wife loves doing the "car pick-up" option. Sometimes I get the honor of taking her phone with me to conduct the actual pick-up of our order. The whole process is very easy; park, select here on the app, enter parking spot number, and they are usually at the car in 5 minutes or less (usually less). The staff are always very nice and place everything in the trunk for us. The parking lot can get crazy as there are a lot of stores in this shopping area people also frequent. Pro Tip: Avoid the main entrance by Chik-fil-a. Enter and exit via Auto Parkway down by the Starbucks. read more

Accessibility: disabled parking across from the entrance, ramps to get up to the sidewalk, and motion-activated doors. Inside, the floors are very slick/smooth, and it is well lit inside. They do have larger, accessible bathroom stalls, but many times I have been, they don't have toilet paper and it is dirty. Why have a phone number or phones if you aren't going to answer them? To be honest, shopping at Walmart is preferable to shopping at this Target. The parking lot is a total deathtrap at all hours of the day, seven days a week. This location appears to be understaffed, and the staff that are there don't really go out of their way to help. The store inside is very disorganized and the layout is anything but intuitive. Not only that, but to only have a couple of self checkout registers open when you have 10 available is pretty inexcusable, especially during the busier parts of the day. A man asked about it and the manager said, "it's not up to me" with a smirk and walked off. I tried to call guest services later on to ask about something and the phone line disconnected; I called Target corporate and they couldn't get ahold of this store either, which is wild. I don't really know what the problem is at this location because I have not had issues at other locations around North County. But I will only come here again if I am desperate. read more

I don't go to Target that often, but I was driving by and remembered that I needed a few things. I always thought targets were upscale stores, like the one in the mall. Nope! The Auto Parkway store in Escondido was gross and lacked a variety of products needed, like Method brand dish soap. I needed a push cart, but they literally looked so filthy, like there was a dust storm and then a drizzle of rain. I opted to use one of those red hand baskets instead. We've been coming here for years. But the last maybe year and half, they are always out of stock on a lot of things we need. And when we go to any other Target, they practically have full shelves and everything we are looking for. So I'm not sure what's going on with this store, but I'm tired of always coming and seeing all these empty shelves!! Also their on hands are very off too. I visited the Escondido store recently and bought an item that was advertised as being on sale. When I got home I found that not only was the item sale price not honored, but the item rang up for a price 15% higher than what the Target app lists the item. When I completed the "inform Target survey" the manager contacted me and said they would make it up to me if I came in with receipt and asked for the night manager. He was going to let the night manager know and I just needed to give her my name and show the receipt. When I came back to the store that night the night manager said she knew nothing about it, so I left feeling like a fool for even wasting my time going back to the store. I recommend that anyone shopping this store or any other store location check to ensure the store is honoring the advertised sale. I also found that store also charged more than the prices listed on their app, so that should be looked at as well. read more

What is going on at the Esco Target? I spent five minutes and had to leave. The messiest store I have ever visited. Merchandise all over the floors and on random racks and shelves, overflowing go back carts, lots of empty shelves, sticky, dirty floors as well as the carts. Yikes. I couldn't reach anyone in any department! The guest services line would pick up the phone and hang up on me multiple times. They would let the phone ring for a while, then answer only to talk to each other in the background. I kept saying "hello," but they would hang up to avoid helping me. I needed assistance because my mom accidentally left her phone in the cart. I don't think anybody was on cart duty either because when we drove back in traffic for over 20 minutes, luckily, our cart and her phone were still in the cart return where we left them. The store is just a regular Target store. But, the restrooms are FILTHY! And that is very unacceptable to me.

This location is pretty busy and has probably the most difficult parking lot of all the locations that I have been to. The snack area seems to always be a mess. They may need to hire more staff just to help clean up the place. The customer service though is very good. The associates that are on the sales floor are always willing to go the extra mile to help out. I try not to visit this location as it has been on the decline. With so many other Target stores near my home, I've decided to steer clear of this one. read more

I never had to deal with a long wait for a pick up order. When I left my house at noon I put I was on my way. Pulled up at around 1210. Left around 1245. Come on seriously? I had enough patience waiting that long and tried to give them the benefit of it being busy. The girl working was just walking around. She got my confirmation number even before giving me my order. Her and another guy walked up twice and still didn't have my order. She walked out of the store finally and didn't even have my entire order. There was no reason for someone to drive up and get their order right away while I still waited. And yes not that many of you working but you are not working and the other guy is helping everyone else. Every spot was full when I came and nobody was leaving because you all are slow. You don't do what you get paid for. If you don't want to do your job correctly then grow up and go find a new job. Horrible service and this target is so sketchy. I was in search of a red polo shirt for my new job at Family Dollar as assistant manager and I asked 3 Target employees and nobody helped me until Daymon came and walked with me to the men's area and we couldn't find any and as I'm about about to check out and Daymon comes to me with this red polo shirt and says he found 1 but it was only in size XXL. I said I will take it. I'm very grateful for him he went out of his way to help me and I think he was only the security guard at Target but still he needs some kind of acknowledgment because I'm a very satisfied customer because of him. I have never been in a target where every worker looks either bored, miserable, or angry. Their restrooms are atrocious and smell as if someone picked poop as paint... in the clothing aisles, especially near the fitting room, clothes looked disheveled... the checkout process was chaotic... and that's a nice word to describe it. There were some nice areas, like the food and the home decor, and the Starbucks drinks were great! Hence why I'm giving at least two stars... Management, are you ok? Such a bummer from Ashley over at the service desk. I know Target is paying y'all minimum wage, but Ashley looked so miserable and apathetic. All I wanted was to exchange some canisters for my soda stream and purchase a few small items. She made no attempt to be friendly. Maybe she was irritated that I had more than one canister to exchange. Or maybe she was having a bad day? She looked super inconvenienced, couldn't even try to smile or be friendly at all. Even still, how hard is it to scan a few items and try a little bit? Target, do you need to pay your workers more or something? Or maybe Ashley needs to find a job that she likes. Purchased 2 cell phones Friday November 23rd. Went to return them on December 7th exactly 14 days later. I was told the receipts wouldn't scan and to come back the following Monday when a manager was in. They sent the manager emails and confirmed they would honor the return. Returned Monday and was told the manager knew nothing about it. Then I was told that 14 days is actually 15 days in their world. How do you get 15 days from a Friday to Friday? Called customer service and they confirmed that it was in fact 14 days and I would be able to return them. After 6 calls and two months I was told 14 day return policy starts the day you make the purchase and ends a day early. So you only actually have 13 days to make a return. The managers at target refuse to talk or even return a phone call to discuss. Piss Poor Customer service from a national retailer and illegal business practices. read more
