Honestly, Target is one of my favorite places. I love perusing the aisles-- Starbucks coffee in hand. But this location over the years doesn't have the best selection or bargains. A plus, however, is its groceries. I find them to be well stocked and at a great price. Additionally, online ordering via the app for pickup is a great option that is very well executed. (Be sure to check your wallet for additional savings!) This used to be my go-to for after holiday discount shopping but I avoid it now, as it's typically very picked over and just not worth the crowd. read more

Being in here the Saturday before Christmas was like literal torture for me. #1 I strongly dislike shopping. #2 the Saturday before the biggest holiday of the year. AGH! I did not come here because I wanted to, but because someone else needed to. This was not the day to 'browse' Target, so we were in and out pretty quickly. The check-out like was wrapping around the store. The person I was shopping with got everything she wanted, so the trip wasn't a total waste. Honestly though, avoid this Target at all costs. It's always busy. Not insane level of busy, but busy enough that I avoid it. read more

Very bright and clean! The employees are ALWAYS nice, even when they're rushed and busy. Loses stars for me because it's a regular occurrence for me to order things for pickup and items get canceled because they don't have as many as their system thinks they do. And I don't see the notification until after I get there, so I just have to do without them because I can't wait another hour or two for items to be picked. (90% of the time I have to use payment methods I only have available on PayPal). I am a huge fan of the Target Circle rewards program and the app coupons! Saves me money AND I can vote for charities to get money! read more

This particular target seems to be more concerned with shrink than helping customers. I usually go in here for groceries because I'm too lazy to go to Walmart. It's always busy on the weekends here. Update: Same deal basically. They sent me a car seat in a trashed up box and the car seat had to be exchanged for a new one. They gave me a hard time about looking up the order when I went into the store and didn't hold the car seat at the front desk like they said they would. This place needs new management and some consultants to come in and update their armchair customer experience processes. Lame! read more

Two complaints: (1) web site claimed inventory for an item; however, no one could seem to find it yet today the site still claims 4 left; (2) I left my cart at the end of an aisle to go down the next aisle to pick up some soda and browse that aisle for the missing item (coconut water), this being a matter of mere minutes, and when I returned to my cart it was gone. Thinking that someone was being "funny" I started searching all the other aisles looking for where my cart ended up. Not finding it I told a staff member that my cart had been taken, that it had cold items in it. She asked the departments to search for it only to discover that another staff member took it and put everything back on the shelves, done because of the cold items. I was absent from that cart mere minutes, 5 at the very most. Not only did I waste my time searching for it I had to re-shop all my items. The staff seemed to think that they acted properly. So my advice if you want to walk away from your cart briefly put a leash on it. This has to be one of the most stupid shopping experiences ever. Thanks for reading. read more

My Grandpa and I decided that he needed a new laptop - so we went onto Target's website and found one that he liked. We submitted our order and it was ready for drive-up about an hour. We drive out there and pick it up, once we get it home - we noticed that the laptop itself was damaged (in addition to the box)! My grandpa was disheartened by this and we ended up having to return the laptop to another Target to get a replacement. Customer Service at the other Target was shocked something in that condition went out the door. They took care of it very professionally and I now have one happy Grandpa! :) read more

Although this isn't labelled a Super Target, it's pretty darn close to being one. The produce section is small but has a little bit of everything and the grocery section even has a baking aisle, so it's more than just your bare essentials. The checkout is always a slow process since there are never enough cashiers on hand. Since this location is connected to the Coral Ridge Mall, it's always busy and tends to have a cumbersome number of browsing shoppers. read more

Although conveniently located in the Coral Ridge mall I'm not loving this Target. It's too busy for its own good. It feels like a worn out dirty sock. The employees are generally oblivious and in all my trips into this store over the last two weeks I've mostly been ignored by every employee I've passed. I went in on a Monday for a bag of wintergreen lifesavers. It was empty. The next week I stopped in for the same thing on Thursday: 11 days later and still empty. Today I bought a pair of kids shoes to donate in the back to school donation bin in the mall. Throughout the entire shoe department there were large signs that said "all kids shoes 50% off". I bought a pair directly beside the sign. Looking at my receipt later I see I was charged full price. One morning I stopped in and was running a bit behind but I wanted a bottle of water. After looking in 3 of the coolers by the front checkout and seeing all of them virtually empty and zero with a bottle of water I gave up. I'm glad this is not my regular target store. read more

Not my favorite Target....ailes are small and congested...I don't care for the layout either. Parking is a pain in the rear, but this is attached to a mall. I agree with another reviewer that said it's odd that Iowa City/Coralville doesn't have a larger, detached Super Target...I love the SW one in Cedar Rapids. read more

I cannot believe I'm giving a Target a one star rating...but this Target totally deserves it. This is hands-down the worst Target I've ever been in and what kills me is this is the only one in all of Iowa City and Coralville!! And it's not even a Super Target...just a piddly little extinct "regular" Target store. Blasphemy! So what's my problem. This Target is cramped and crowded, ill-kept/dirty, there are never enough lanes open, the selection is not nearly as good as the Targets in Cedar Rapids, it's in a freaking MALL for crying out loud so parking is just a joke. This Target makes me feel like I'm really in a Wal Mart...that should give you an idea for the disdain I have for this location. read more

Pros: 1. Clean store, a bit smaller than the ones I'm used to in Minnesota, but you can still get a few grocery items here in addition to other essentials. 2. They tend to have good clearance end caps and is our go to place for clearance holiday decorations after Halloween, Christmas, etc. I also usually have to look at their electronic clearance. 3. I'm slowly becoming a bigger fan of their men's clothing section. Especially as they have added a Haggar line. 4. I like the addition of their new self checkout machines, perfect for when I only have a few items. Cons: 1. Checkout time can be slow during busy times, really slow. Hunting down for the quickest line has turned into a game. read more

I have always been a fan of Target, but the new set up & floor plan is really confusing. They don't have any new signs up yet (and it's been over a month). I go to one section for something & I find out (from a shopper) that it's now on the other side of the store. Not a fun outing with a 9-month old if you're in a hurry! I've lost track of how many issues I've had with this Coralville/Iowa City Target location. I have to use drive up frequently and have had numerous orders that were wrong. Items are often missing or wrong (so ensure you check your order before leaving the drive up). I bought $50 worth of Philips Christmas lights and they gave us the wrong ones. Thank goodness I noticed before hanging them. I've also had to call or go in many times and get an, "I'm sorry" when items are forgotten. Finally, I asked if they have quality control. Do you scan items as you shop? And scan bags as you bring them to a customer? The clerk said yes they are "supposed" to scan everything, but they've had a lot of new hires and that might be the issue. Aside from issues with orders, the bathrooms are dirty and store is dated. I'm a devoted Target fan, but highly recommend going to different locations (it's worth the drive to Cedar Rapids South store). read more

Checked stock of an item online, it stated it was available at the Coralville store and to visit the store to purchase. I went to the store and they had zero available and made no offer to order or otherwise assist. A day later their website still says they have it in stock at the store. read more

Love Target stores and generally spend lots of money at them...except this one. Not one single person at this store was friendly. And even stopped my kids and questioned them as to what they were doing there. As an HR person for over 20 years, I notice customer service...and this store definitely lacked it! Even our cashier was texting on her phone while we were paying. So very rude. Even though the store was clean, I willl make it a point not to shop at this location again. read more

I think it is fine but target needs to get more people at the checkout lanes there are hardly and one there especially during holidays. They have one person trying to direct people to go in certain lanes when they only have like 6 open. It is a fine target to go to but it is fine. I feel like they should open a new one in north Liberty. read more
