I haven't been to the Target Center in years. I remember when the Target Center was built! It was so nice back then! It still is a good venue but like others have stated, it needs a good overhaul. Tonight, two rows in front of us, one of the chairs came off the base and the girl was wobbling around on the seat! They told an usher but he chose to ignore her... The seats are pretty dirty, old, and tight. Not tight as in size of the seat but tight as in leg room. I am only 5"4 so I can not imagine being a tall person in these seats! As soon as we came through the door, I felt welcomed! They had greeters who directed you to Will Call or ticket sales and also got you hyped up for the game with their positive, high energy, spirits! Before we sat down, we encountered close to five employees, all of whom were so courteous and helpful. What makes them a step above the norm is that I never had to ask them for help! They noticed us and more than likely, my lost look on my face. They came to us, asking if we needed anything. It was a close to perfect experience and I can not wait to come back and watch something else! Maybe a Lynx game next time! read more

Target Center its nice that you allow me to travel here by taking the lightrail and not having to go through all the troubles of traffic/parking in downtown. But how I hate your seating the Excel offers much better ones. Especially the nose bleeder seats the stairs are so steep whenever I walk up them I pray that I don't suddenly trip and tumble down to broken limbs. Your concessions are spread out and jacked up pricing always makes me pass it up even though I crave a hotdog during a Wolves game. BTW thanks for letting me in for $5 during college nights. The concerts I've seen here are just too crowded and busy to actually enjoy anything unless I shell out a ton of money to see it up close. Overall thanks for all the memories over time hopefully you get a update soon so I can build more upon the ones you've helped me create. read more

I haven't been to the Target Center much recently. I just was there to see Cirque de Soliel Crystal the other night. I thought getting in and out of the Target center for this event was easy and fairly pain free. My ailing mother likes these shows and she wanted to go. I haven't been to one of the Cirque shows before. My mom has done several and she really wanted to see the only Cirque on Ice. The seating was decent, everything seemed clean and organized. My ailing mother didn't feel up to taking the escalators and asked for an elevator. I brought her to the elevator and there was a crowd of other people forming so I left her there and went down the escalator to meet her down below. I went down to not find my mom. What the? I asked a guy and he was trying to put our story together. I guess the elevator that I left my mom at was only for wheelchair access and went to parking underneath the center. The target Center employee was very friendly and took us through the basement where they were tearing down the show to get us to the lobby which is on the other side. I guess they had my mom go to another elevator and that is how i lost my mom at the Target Center. Try not to lose your mom at the Target Center. LOL Have fun! read more

Came for a Friday-night Wolves vs. Mavs game while I was in town, and it was a great time. It's relatively clean in this stadium, and there is ample seating. Food and drink prices are par for the course, but the shining gem is the donuts. Oh sweet baby Jesus, those hot and fresh sugar donuts are heaven on Earth. For only $5, you can get a bag of sugared fried dough bites that everyone will be fighting over. Mmm mmm good. The announcers are pretty good and get the crowd amped up, and the dance/fan team is energetic as well. Good experience. read more

First of all, I hate that they are naming stadiums and arenas after businesses. Do we really need a Target Center AND a Target Stadium? I guess creativity and enjoyment in naming are far second and third to funding from the corporate Gods. Secondly, I was here for the Green Day concert and I am still not convinced that these huge sports complexes are good for seeing concerts. You aren't even facing the stage in most of the seats and there is so much wasted space. Third, this venue was boring and beer was super expensive. Getting old but still functional. I really hope they eventually renovate it. But it works for Wolves games and concerts, and of course it's connected to the rest of the city via skyway, which is convenient. I say it 'works' for concerts, which means it's acceptable if drab with less-than-ideal sound quality. It is one of the last places I'd want to see a show, but since the Twin Cities has no proper outdoor concert venue, it's usually Target Center or the X. I've managed to see Gorillaz, Oasis, the Chili Peppers, NIN, Rage Against the Machine and others at Target Center. If it weren't here, we'd have to go to St. Paul much more often. :) read more

Good hotel in a great location. It's "A-OK." Check in/out is fast. I never wait much. Employees are professional. My room is always clean. Room service works pretty well and the food is very good. The furnishings in the room are modern and nice looking. It's also pretty pricey, so while I get what I pay for, I can't really justify four stars, because they have not really exceeded my expectations. Harsh, perhaps, but true. Bonus: The Elite Club on the 30th floor is pretty good. It's well stocked and the servers are good. read more

My review and rating are based on my experience with the Lexus Courtside Club tickets at the Target Center for an NBA game between Wolves and Nuggets. My wife and I received free tickets from work to go to the game at the Target Center. We didn't realize until we actually saw the tickets that they were Lexus Courtside Club tickets...."exclusive". There was a valet voucher too for free parking. The tickets also included complimentary buffet and beverages, 2 hours before tip off and complimentary beverages during half time. There was in-seat food and beverage service too, non-complimentary. The evening of the game, we reached at the venue about an hour before the game and valet-parked our car and walked right in to the Lexus Club. There was a very friendly concierge who scanned our tickets, gave us wrist bands and asked if we needed a locker to keep our personal belongings. There was wine and beer service right at the entrance. We walked through the locker sections to enter Huberts bar and then onto a roped away section of the bar, exclusive for club members. The buffet had chicken salad with balsamic vinegar and ranch dressing, cream cheese wontons (with crab meat), fried rice, and other dishes. Being vegetarians, my wife and I could not find anything to eat. The chef refilling the buffet saw us and asked if we had any questions. He offered to make veggie burgers with fries and salad specially for us, which was very nice of him. The burger with soy patty was delicious and the fries were very tasty. I had a couple of glasses of white wine, which was good. For dessert, there was pecan pie - super yummy. All in all a great dining experience - for free. We walked right in to the arena and got seated in the very first row, with our feet on the court. The press photographers were seated on the floor by our feet, which was the only minor negative as we could not stretch our legs out. If we were any close to the basket, it would have been illegal. :D The arena itself was very neat and the layout was great. The mascot, cheer girls and the MC were fun and kept the crowd grooving. I really have no reason to come here ever. I went here once for a Timberwolves game and was like "how much did these seats cost? this sucks." Any concert that is big enough to fill this venue isn't worth going to see. It's like a big metal shoebox. read more

I really wish I could give Target Center more than 3 stars but I can't because the sightlines and sound in it suck. I'd go easier on it if it was a stadium because those venues are alot larger, but an arena shouldn't be as bad as this. Oh, and forget about taking anyone who is afraid of heights to the upper deck because it is a way's up and is very steep. It's so steep I'm sure if you were to slip on the stairs you could fall all the way down to the court. I'd agree with other reviewers that their needs to be some updates to the building but I'm not one of those people who needs everything to be of the latest style, I don't think I've ever used the word dated to describe anything. As long as it looks nice I think it's cool to have styles from other periods around, and the Target Center has an intense 90's feel to it, so much so that it feels like entering a time machine. Don't we all like to go back in time once in awhile? Well, there isn't any other way to do it in this World other than going to a space from times past. I'll likely be docking Target Center another star if the plans to 'modernize' the exterior facade go through, and if they get rid of the neon artwork on the ceiling of the lobby. I'm not sure I like the present proposal, you might as well tear the building down. After all it isn't like the functional elements of the building are that great, and as far as I can see there won't be any changes to the things that actually need to be changed. Why be so drastic in the changes to the look of the building, I'd rather see some of the 90's architectural elements preserved. read more

This cozy arena simply has the best branding. If you come here, as I do, to be immersed in advertisements, slogans, sponsors and giveaways, you will not be disappointed. The soundtrack is also a major bonus. I've always hated listening to songs in their entirety. Thankfully, Target Center has an artfully curated playlist of 8 second samples played frenetically through an overpowering sound system. Add a jumbotron, animated billboards, the smell of fried food and beer and you have the sort of truly immersive sensory barrage I just can't seem to get enough of! But I can only give this place 3 stars because of one annoying thing that happens here a lot. It's called basketball. For some reason, they keep turning off the music and the lights and the announcers so that a bunch of athletes can display their skill and prowess. It's pretty obnoxious IMO. I guess if you're into that sort of talent and mastery that all of these remarkable people havespent a lifetime of hard work and devotion to cultivate, it could be okay. But I'm just kinda like ick. Pro tip: just walk around the halls the whole time, you never have to watch any of the game at all! read more

I've watched and played live music at many different venues throughout the country, and Target Center is byfar my least favorite of any. The sound quality you hear from stage is garbage, drinks are overpriced, and the staff members are generally rude and unfriendly. This may not be true for all of them, but it sure has been every time I've gone! In all fairness, the older gentleman and lady who took my ticket once at the upper level were very nice. I wish I could have actually heard "Muse" and "The Kings of Leon" better than I did, after paying for floor seats. Oh well - I'll try again at the Xcel. read more

Went for: Concert The Bad: Blocked views, impossible to find seats. The Good: Nothing really I spent $50+ on tickets for a concert for seats up top, stage right ... no where when purchasing did it mention that it may be a partially obstructed view. Gigantic speakers that surrounded the stage (suspended from the ceiling) blocked our view 1/2 the performers. Based on our seats, any amount of overhead decorations or sound equip would have blocked our view. Additionally it is impossible to find your seat when the lights are off, there are small lights in the isles but they dont light on the row letter. So there were a bunch of people bumbling around holding their cellphones to the floor in order to find their seat .... just stupid. Sound quality overall was average, not great and it was a packed house. For Target and how nicely they did the Twins stadium I would have thought this venue would have seen some more updates. read more

First time I visited the stadium having been been to many stadiums was very much looking forward to this one as well was rather disappointed in the age in the wear of this facility. Definitely shows it's age and city in need of a new facility the seating was all very worn and the fabric was somewhat stained and torn. From the area I sat I had an incredible view still the age of the facility was disappointing it was tired looking and interior worn. Time for major renovations or rebuild new state of the art facility. read more

Nice location for concerts and we were stoked to see the Who here for their 50 Year Tour. Compared to other arenas, Target Center has numerous options for inexpensive event parking within walking distance. The arena itself is clean and professionally maintained. Great acoustics as well. read more

I enjoy the Target Center once I'm in. Getting parked and into the place is another story. Built approx 20 years ago, the Target Center is squeezed into downtown Minneapolis, so there are several small, ghetto parking lots sprawled around and an expensive parking ramp. Why more large sports arenas aren't built in more suburban areas is beyond me. Events at the TC go fine. Food is pricey, but they have a good verity. The mood always seems fine, and I never felt nervous for any reason. The interior is a classic, two-level design with suites halfway up. Thumbs up. The seats were remodeled to blue from red several years back. The hallways could use a touch as well, but that's just being picky. The TC is a fine place to see an event. Works well for basketball, very well for WWE, average for concerts. read more

This is a great event center except for the fact that they don't allow you to leave during an event to go outside for a cigarette. I understand that not everyone is a smoker, but a big percentage of the population is, and I feel they should accommodate them. They remodeled the inside of the target center! Not only are the chairs comfier than the Xcel, they are a tad roomier, (Trust me I would notice, I am a plus size gal). They had just tons and tons of options for food, the variety is impressive! Prices are cheaper than both Xcel energy center and Target Field I think? Phone charging stations. Minneapolis Mayor Ryback put dirt on this roof to make the building "green" but I think he should take it off. The building is not bad and is a sports arena. What do you want? Xcel over in St. Paul is better, even though it is only a few years younger than this arena. The Wolves are a joke and should really be consolidated. The City of Minneapolis should be scolded for buying this arena, as it was privately financed to begin with! read more

Me, I grew up in the cities and only went to a handful of Timberwolves games. These were the Laettner years, and yet, the only time I ever went to the TC was for concerts. Tonight, I saw Muse at the Target Center. I was pleasantly surprised how nice the arena still looks after all these years. Muse drew a huge crowd, so a packed house helps. It was a great show- complete with lasers and fog machines and hydraulic lifts and eyeball beachballs filled with feathers dropping form the ceiling. Initially the stage looked small when Passion Pit opened, but later we found out the metal and cloth girders onstage were actually screens for the massive projections from the 15 or so cameras around the arena. Really an impressive show, both visually and music-wise, if you're into that sort of thing. Fortunately, we had tickets for a suite upstairs, so that made everything a lot cooler to take in - food and drinks galore - so an honest price review is not something I can provide. We have great seats and a wonderful view, but looking down into the crowd and the standing room kids, everyone seemed to have a good time. Easy to get in, even easier to get outside. Good stuff to eat and drink abounds in the warehouse district, so that's a no-brainer. We hit up Starbucks across the street before the show, and took the Hiawatha Light Rail line in and out of the downtown to avoid costly parking fees. A sweet night and an impressive visit at an often overlooked venue. read more

Worst Target ever!!!!! They charged me a cover to get in, I couldn't find any of the items I was looking for, it was all sporting goods!! Food court was WAY overpriced, 2 stars only because they served beer and I haven't seen that at other Targets. Overall would not recommend. read more

While walking out of the Twins game a guy offered me four tickects to the last game of the year against the Detriot Pistons I accepted and took off to go get two more friends and get something to eat and drink then come back for the game. Not a bad place but they didn't seem to have much there as far as to look at, they did have a George Mikan statue but that was about it there was some hardwood floor on the wall from the old court. But no cut out figures of any players so you could size up to them witch I think every sports arena should have something like this. I don't live in a city that has major pro sports teams so when I go to events like this in city that are privledged enough to have a sports team in there city I imagine a crowded arena and excited fans! That was not the case here who cares if you teams not going to make it to the playoffs you shold still support them! The Timberwolves had a 12 point lead and blew it the crowd was never really into the game and it was a pretty exciting game lots of dunks and fastbreaks. Timberwolves have a 56% chance of getting the #1 #2 or #3 draft pick for this years draft why I'm I reviewing this because if they get the # 1, 2, or 3 pick sections 101 and 201 season tickects will be $1 for the 1 pick $2 for the 2 pick and $3 for the 3 pick per game. so #1 pick $41 for season tickects wow! I think you % for the number 1 pick is 24%? good luck Minnesota! Hopefully you get someone as amazing as Isaiah (JR) Rider! or another Garrnett type player. read more

My ears are still ringing from Kanye's Glow in the Dark tour. I know concerts are supposed to be loud, but this was LOUD and in that everything sounds fuzzy the system here is awful kind of way. The center itself was pretty depressing. This place needs to be updated and renovated. read more

Went to the Timberwolves game at the last minute and I absolutely loved the redo of target center ! It's so nice and clean ! Not to mention the security took less that 30 seconds and they told us which line to go to although they changed it around a bit ! The sound in that place just can't get it together ! No matter how hard they try ! The ushers and staff were truly friendly and nice . I wish the bathrooms were a little cleaner other than that great place to see a game ! This was my third visit to the Target center & all for concerts. Starting with the good: Staff has always been friendly, location is close to decent bars for before cocktails and plenty of parking in lot or in neighboring lots. Okay...the bad. Again, only seen concerts here. The acoustics are really bad! The walk up / down to certain seats(90.00 got us nose bleeds at Stevie Wonder) are scary. I imagine going down these stairs when buzzed, is what rock climbing without a harness feels like. The floors are so sticky the last 2 shows, we couldn't dance. Now, that may be Devine intervention for the other show goers, but still. We really did need to struggle to dance, in the end keeping our feet planted & moving upper bodies only(kind like toy army men). The cheapest beers are $8.50. Depending on your seats, getting there is like being on the Jetsons. Escalator...after escalator...after escalator. Last, but not least....the seats. Ok, on the comfort side. Always, left the shows before the lights went on...not last week. Our whole row got up & gasped!! The seats looked like a crime scene! Tons of mystery splattered spots(God, let it be just blood) on the seats. Yep, last show I paid $130.00(tix, parking) to watch a tv screen of my fav performer, while fearing for my life getting to the Petri dish, they called a seat. Again, staff was really nice and mini donuts hit the spot. read more

I was pretty happy with my experience here! The only time I came here, was for UFC 89 last year, and it was a lot of fun! The place is pretty big, we had decent seats for the event, and looking around, everyone was super crazy! It is also really easy to get to your seats too! I liked that, even when the entry ways, and food walk ways (whatever they are called) Corridors! umm.. yeah, even when those places are all packed, it doesn't seem that bad. I am a fan! read more

Our tickets said we had seats 3-7 on row F of section 223, exactly what I had purchased over the phone. However, there is no seat 7 in that row, so we sat in seats 2-6. Shortly before tip-off, a couple of fans asked to see our tickets since they thought we were taking one of their seats, we showed them our tickets and they saw that the problem was that row F, indeed, had no seat 7. They found an employee to help figure out the problem who was a young, African-American male whose name I wish I knew for your information-because he was untrained on how to deal with the situation and ultimately dishonest with me. This usher in a grey shirt instructed my group to go to a guest services location on the 100 level to get the situation sorted out. I responded that my group included two disabled guests who would have trouble moving about in the arena, and that we were not inclined to move from our seats. I asked if wouldn't it be easier to find 2 open seats for the couple who held tickets for seats 1 & 2, than move a group of 5. He left for a few minutes with the couple, but returned with the announcement that seats had been located for my group in section 116. "Just go there and find someone with a grey shirt like mine who will seat you." While making our way to section 116, my mother had to take several breaks due to knee pain, and we missed the first quarter trying to find an escalator. When we arrived at section 116, we made contact with an usher wearing a grey shirt who rudely told us we were in the wrong section and that he did not in fact have seats for my group. We walked out into the hall, where we noticed there was the guest services counter. We then realized the young man back at section 223 had misled us about there being seats for us in section 116, and he had lied to get us to go to the guest service counter- I'll admit, a smart move, but completely dishonest nonetheless. The woman working at guest services- whose name I cannot recall- was very apologetic and helpful in figuring out where to put our group, however, the game was quickly progressing without us being able to watch it. We were assigned seats in section 126, row U, so we made our way there, but people were already sitting in our seats. When I asked the usher if we could sit in the empty row in front of U (row "T" I presume) he got angry and said we needed to return to the guest services counter. I responded that, no, we would certainly not go back there again, which made him even angrier. The people in our seats realized what was happening and moved to row T, so we were able to finally sit and enjoy the game- or at least the last 2 minutes of the half. But that wasn't the worst of it, yet. More people came who had tickets for row T and the ones there moved out for a man, woman, and 2 children. The halftime show (per usual) was awesome. A trio presented a balance act and encouraged the crowd to make noise and cheer on the performers. The man in front of me leaned back and said, "My girlfriend is pregnant and the clap is irritating her,"- which I thought was a joke about VD at first. But after the performers asked for more noise, which we provided, the man again leaned back to me and said that our hand clapping was vexing his lady friend. I laughed at this and calmly advised him that there was a lot more clapping and shouting to come, because we were basketball fans. My mother, who was sitting a couple of seats away leaned over to ask me what the problem was. I told my mother that the lady in front of me wanted us to stop clapping, and my mom laughed. This made the lady in front of us very upset and she called us mother f**kers, and she and her group got up and left the section. A few minutes later, we saw the woman near the exit, yelling explicatives at security personnel-who were frowning at us, so I waved them over to tell them our side of whatever story she had cooked up. They instantly presumed that we were guilty of something, and positioned themselves in front of us in the now vacant row T, blocking our view of the 3rd quarter action which had just begun. We were accused of harassing the folks who had occupied the row in front of us by the rent-a-cops, and then said my group should go to the guest services to request new seats. I said that we would absolutely NOT be moved again, since we had already had lost our patience with the seating hassle. The security guard said, "Do you wonder why you keep getting moved? Maybe, you are troublemakers,"- insinuating that we were to blame for something. Then he went on to claim that we were harassing the folks in front of us because they were non-white. Yup, he called us racist! I left this review with the Timberwolves and the Target Center online without any reply read more

target center is a nice size event venue. i don't have to run a mile to find my seats and i don't have to go too far to find a restaurant. there's a food station in nearly every corner and price are nicer than what Ive paid at other places for nachos or a pretzel. unfortunate part is that they dont really have any franchised fast food chains or maybe i missed it. twice- i was able to find decent price seats at this place, then again, i was watching the timberwolves but of course, cheering for the lakers =) read more

We had a great time watching the timberwolves here. After the game you can go down to shake the players hands as they head back to the locker room (you def. would not be able to do this at a Lakers game). Lots of fun activities and games to play as you are walking around the halls of the center. We won poster and some other stuff. This was a great experience and a very welcoming place to be. Worst experience I've ever had at a timberwolves game, drive all the way to the arena in a thunderstorm pay for parking, walk a mile to the arena spend $35 on over priced cheese curds fries and soda just to finally get to our seat to be announced the game was canceled due to a wet floor after all that we atleast wanted to finish our over priced food and a few minutes later a security guard started kicking everyone out! He said what are you waiting for, I said I want to finish my food then he said you got to go because as long as your here I have to be here...very very rude! read more

This is quite possibly one of the worst places to experience a concert in the twin cities. The facilities are never clean enough, even at the begining of the night. As far as concessions for a sold out show: took me 15 just to get past 4 other people and then I was told I couldn't have my bottled water in a bottle - what?! They put it into an open cup which I then had to carry up ALL the stairs (30 steps) without spilling it on myself. read more

My wife and I went to the Andrea Bocelli concert tonight. We had $300 seats. The concert was world class. Acoustics were very good. Target Center itself is just is not up to hosting music events at all ever. It took us 40 minutes to get from the front door to our seats due to inadequate and unnecessary metal detector testing. The huge foyer was a cattle crush. They should screen people as they pass through the outside doors and then let them find their seats and not just be a human sea in the foyer. It took 20 minutes to buy a beer at intermission. The line for the womens bathroom passed through the line for beer. They should have hired an architect when they built this place. We have been here for Coldplay and Paul McCartney and had similar problems and poor sound quality too. I am not coming back for a music event.. read more

Had a great time @ the Kevin Hart concert on May 15th. The show was great but the seats are so close together I could barely laugh (literally). I didnt spend any money because of the fact that a 12 oz soda was $5. Overall this was my first experience @ a venue like this and I did enjoy myself. read more
