I will say are a bit squished if you're looking for comfort over style. They were only a few in the theater that I watched my film, and as you'd expect they could recline or have much room to stretch your legs out in. Luckily, this wasn't a necessity for me, but if you'd like to make yourself at home, be warned. The price for a small popcorn was a pretty standard seven dollars. I didn't get to look at the rest of their offering, but it seems they had traditional movie concessions. Overall, love the vibe of this theater and hold definitely be back!

My husband (who is the big film buff) tells me that the Laser format just means they are using laser projection instead of the normal bulbs, so it's little more vibrant. But still, we wanted to check it out. This AMC is located within Phipps Plaza, which is a high end mall, so the theater gets kept up pretty well. They have a little better concessions than normal AMC theaters I've been to also - and a full wall of candy and chips/snacks. But the best of all is that they have a Costa Coffee right in the concessions area! I have never had a frappe to sip on while watching a movie before, but I don't know how I'll go back to not having that now. Their seats are nice and large. Maybe even TOO large - it was a little difficult to get out to use the bathroom LOL The movie we saw was F1 and it was presented well with great sound, and the screen was newer in the theater we were in. This is a nice, newer-seeming theater (or maybe it's not new and they just keep it maintained very well?), with extra treats that not a lot of other AMC's have, and a theater-going experience that's a little different - so definitely check it out if those types of features interest you!

Over $30 for a single ticket is WILD. The theater felt decently clean, and they have the typical theater snacks (we got popcorn and a pretzel) which were really good, but certainly not worth the $30+ ticket price. My biggest gripe, however is that the chairs should recline more. It felt like I could only extend so far and was almost still completely upright. I did like that the seats had heat or cool options and were very spacious. To be honest, I'll stick with other theaters unless specifically invited here again. I'm all for a good splurge when it's worth it, but this didn't really feel like it, sadly.

This is an upscale experience with reclining seats that includes 2 seats per pod. Super cozy for a date night. Complimentary blankets are included at every seat for your enjoyment, at no additional cost. Now let's get to the fun part! IPIC is not your typical movie theater as they have a full bar with cleverly crafted cocktails, my favorite had to be the Lavender Lemonade. It's cool and refreshing and so esthetically beautiful that you question if you should drink it or admire it. But wait there is more, on top of having a full service bar they also have a full menu! Yes you still have the typical popcorn and candy option but they also include such dishes as spicy tuna on crispy rice, charcuterie and cheese platter, lobster rolls just to name a few. Everything is savory and delicious! They do validate parking, allowing guests to park in the garage for a discounted rate. Validation usually brings the cost to approximately $3-$3.50 for 4.5 hours. The cost of tickets range from $14 - $28 per ticket. I have come many times and plan on coming back many times more. IPIC has officially become my favorite theater!

We came to see Odyssey, which was amazing, easily one of the best theater experiences movie-wise but the in-theater dining side of things fell apart fast. Ordered a Coke and got Diet instead, along with wings and a large popcorn. When the wings came out (wrong flavor), I asked for an extra plate and napkins got the napkins eventually, no plate, and the wings themselves were the wrong order. That took over 25 minutes to even attempt to fix, and at that point I just left mid-movie to go grab things myself at the bar. We hit the call light multiple times after that and the server didn't come back until the last 10 minutes of the film. On top of that, our seat cushion was detached and torn when we sat down not exactly what you expect for the price point. At the end, I asked to speak with a manager about the experience and to get my points credited. He handled the points fine, but honestly seemed pretty indifferent to everything else, which felt off given we'd just spent over $100 for two people. To top it off, parking wasn't validated correctly, and there was no going back up to fix it once we'd left. The movie itself was fantastic. The experience around it wasn't. If you're going for the movie, go just don't expect much from the service.

I like the old timey feel of the place. According to its Wikipedia entry, Tara opened in 1968 and the name is a nod to Gone with the Wind of course. It feels cozier since there are a mere four screens total. The small size also makes it a cinch to locate the bathrooms and your theater. Tara is owned by Regal so it's not truly independent but feels more indie since it's an artsy film house. There's a concession stand that serves ever-popular popcorn as well as beer. The seats were comfy enough, though towards the end, I was getting antsy but that might have to do more with the quality of the film. I was concerned about being able to see since this theater doesn't have stadium seating, but the slope of the floor was enough so that I could comfortably see over the two women in front of me. I didn't have any issues with the screen or sound. The other patrons were pretty well-behaved though cell phones loudly interrupted a couple of times, sigh. Since Tara is in a shopping center, parking isn't really much of an issue. There's a Publix and a couple of restaurants nearby too, like Hajime which my dental hygienist recently recommended to me. Next time I'm at Tara, I'll have to schedule my movie right so I can have ramen after!

Despite them having customer contact information, the first notice that dinner was not going to be on the menu was taped to the outer door on arrival. Given that we were there to see The Odyssey - a 3 hour movie - this was pretty disappointing. While the agent on the ticket counter was very apologetic, and the bar team was friendly and working as fast as they could to get through the long, 20+ person line, the whole place was chaos and it felt like we'd surprised them by showing up. This isn't an isolated incident or one-off staffing/capacity issue. We've had similar experiences with long delays, backed up kitchen and order mix-ups the last 2 times we visited, as well. I wish I'd learned from that. You can't run a dine-in theater and not give customers any food. Halfway through the long bar line, an employee said they were taking orders again at the seats via QR code. Everyone ran in, tried to order, couldn't, then came back out to make a new line. 5 more mins later, they came out to say they were taking manual orders and encouraged us all to sit back down and wait. We decided not to trust that, ordered drinks and sent a member of the party to Newks for sandwiches. Spoiler alert: no one ever came to take an order, but the sandwich was delicious. Thanks, Newks. It's a cool little cinema that the students are fortunate to have on their campus in downtown Atlanta.
