It's definitely a cute little theater, which has its own quirks and such. I saw "The Addams Family" here not too long ago (about a week), and it was my first time ever coming here. I got discounted tickets from Goldstar (which I do all the time), so I ended up paying like... $14 of 15 for it (regular priced is $20). I'd say it was worth that kind of price, for sure. The parking situation is interesting, since the building itself is set off from the road, and you may drive right by it like I did. But despite that, there appears to be ample parking and even a smaller "overflow" lot next door if the lot in front of the building is full.
They had decked out the box office area with spooky themed decorations, which was a cute touch. I got there early and we were ushered in. My friend and I had front row tickets which was great because the sound track was loud, and I occasionally even had trouble understanding the actors on the front row. All in all, it was an enjoyable show. The actor who played Fester, in particular, had impeccable comedic timing. He stole the show!
PROS:
-Small sized theater, so it's a very intimate experience.
-They have special Sunday priced tickets at $13 pre-paid or $16 at the door.
-For older characters, they use older actors, and for younger, they use younger. I think this led to an authentic touch.
-They do a great job with stage props and the set. I loved the way the Addams' interior parlor looked.
-Parking lot is big and free.
-Beer and wine are available pre-show.
CONS:
-I was on the front row and sometimes had difficulty understanding the actors, so there are definitely some acoustic issues.
-The background music is played on a CD track behind singing, and that sucker was LOUD.
NEUTRAL:
-Assigned seating, so if you get there later you're likely to get less than desirable seats in the back. But then again, if you're already bought your tickets, you don't have to rush around and get here super early because they're already guaranteed.
THE VERDICT:
The acting and singing was just fine. Some were better actors than others, but for the most part everyone did a good job in the roles they were assigned. I love that the theater is on the smaller side, so it's more intimate, but this also means it's more prone to selling out. When we went, it was actually a sold out show, and they said how every Addams Family show that season had been sold out. The parking was free, which was great. I'd check out Goldstar before buying a future ticket, because you can often get a discounted ticket there. The show was worth the $14-15 price, and I'm sure I'll be back at some point to see something else there. read more
