I feel like an absolute fucking bellend tbh, spending all my time in fucking yumyums (which has the world's stupidest name and is only fun coz they have those tables that sink into the floor but half the time they don't let you sit in them anyway) when this absolute solid gold TREASURE is one minute round the corner. Anyway, the window seat is right next to some cute fairy lights and flowers and shit. As per usual I embarrassed my dining partner - 2015 Elite Yelper, Luke Y - by announcing that if this was a tinder date he would definitely be getting laid. BE WARNED THOUGH - romantic as it is, that table is draughty as fuck whenever anyone goes out for a cigarette. The food is the most authentic Thai I've had outside of actual Thailand. We ordered like the fat fucks that we are, and had fish cakes, chicken satay, squid and some kind of stir fried pork. I also rate their masaman curry and kanom jeeb dumplings more highly than I can express in words, and their homemade ice creams are fleek af too plus they do cool flavours like coconut and pandan. Your whole experience here is going to be heightened immeasurably by the cuteness of the tiny Thai grandma that serves the food. I just want to kiss her all over her jolly little face. She brings you these little spearmint chewy sweets with your bill that instantly take on the exact texture of pre-chewed chewing gum when you eat them. Maybe they are chewing gum? Either way, I swallow, but that's enough about my personal life LOL. All in all, it's an A+ experience every time. Big up Thai Cafe, I love you.

Seaweed can sometimes be hit and miss, not always the same nice texture. Duck and noodles are amazing, decent amount of both. Total usually 18 quid with delivery and they give prawn crackers with the order. I went to order the same thing today, excited for my usual order, and laughed out loud at the price jump. Seaweed for over a fiver? The two big spring rolls were usually a bargain but now not worth it. A tenner if I ordered the duck and noodles again. I'm gutted as I did order fairly often despite it already being a bit dear, but there is no chance at those prices.

They are on Hungry House as well if you are feeling super lazy or live a significant way away. Very cheap prices, with like 3.50 for pad thai and around 5 for red thai duck curry. I was not a huge fan of the Pad Thai as is seemed very stuck together and almost re-heated in texture. Also it was not a very big portion. However, the Shredded Chilli Beef on rice and the King Prawn Sweet and Sour box meal were both quite good. And I can't speak highly enough about the roasted duck in black bean sauce on chow mein. Fabulous and a generous portion! Also, I have had the pho bo (beef) soup which was very good as well, with a good side portion of noodles, bean sprouts, and extra beef. The broth was very flavorful and rich as well.

The staff were all very professional, helpful and friendly. At the same time it was not stuffy and didn't make you feel uneasy. We tried the sampler platter for appetizer which was delicious. It was a good array of the their wonderful cuisine. The fried appetizers were not greasy and cooked just right. Loved the chicken/nuts dumpling, very unique and full of flavor and spices. For entree we tried the Lamb curry, sea bass curry, meat curry and pad Thai. They were all a hit, but the sea bass was the winner as far as we were concerned. The sauce and flavor was the perfect combination. Since it was a birthday celebration, we had the molten chocolate cake and the mango cheesecake, an amazing experience trying both (served with vanilla ice cream). The owner is a very sweet and happy man who loves shaking hands and holding doors open. He's seen my partner so many times, he now hugs him when we leave. There is a large selection of vegetarian & vegan & veganizable meze and a small selection of mains. I usually go for the "fiesta" as it is the most food for money and I can swap the halloumi for roasted veggies, no problem. So much food, so much deliciousness. But be careful everyone! The most amazing freshly baked Turkish bread is placed in front of you before the meal, along with a spicy tomato dip and olives. It's so good, it's hard to stop, and then there is no room left in your tummy for the feast of your main! Also, for drinks- the house red is quite tasty for the cheapest option. Every time someone is visiting us from out of town and we want a nice meal, we bring them here. We've brought everyone from California to Japan here and always celebrate hubby's birthday here as well. I hope you will treat your friends!
