Yesenia is the reason why I have eaten here four times in one month. I listened to her on Instagram as she spoke about and presented different dishes her restaurant has to offer. Today I came in, recognized the voice and met Yesenia today! She's very outgoing and in my opinion the spokeswoman of the restaurant! Cause of her I found a place that serves Excellent grilled rib eye steak, refried beans and French fries. Top it off with a pina colada and I'm set! This is definitely one of my mom's favorite places so we try to come here often. My Nina was in town. They called me to go to lunch so we were there. Unfortunately nobody was really happy with their lunch. The soup lacked flavor I asked for chicken they gave me beef- my mom and I both had the taco and enchilada combo plate. I stumbled across this place on instagram where they showed off their "world famous" bbq burrito. I'm not sure why this is on the menu, but it is indeed a slap to the face to genuine authentic mexican food. The taste is not there, the presentation is not there. I did not try any other dishes but from the looks of it, the food seems decent. The establishment itself seems fine overall, but it seems to enjoy mocking authentic mexican food. When we went it was our first time coming to this particular location. We usually go to the the sister Taqueria that's further up near the mall and Safeway, but we decided to come here today and regretted it. I walked in with one other person. The guy that sat us down was really nice, but the waitress older plus size lady with curly fake blond mix hair kept walking by and ignoring us, she didn't take our orders, yet took the orders of other people who came in after us. Worse place in Salinas for Mex. food. The service is okay. Food comes out quickly.Reason for that is all the food is microwaved. I ordered a chimichanga to go after having lunch. The server took it upon himself to order the plate he didn't ask if I wanted a plate or A la cart. He knew I didn't not speak Spanish. When I bought it up after receiving my bill. He told the other server that I had ordered the plate. My cousin who does speak Spanish told him no she did not order the plate. He then said well since you two ordered a plate I assumed thats what you wanted. I didn't have a problem paying for it I do have a problem with LIARS.
