There are taquerias everywhere in the city and Centro Historico is no exception. The rule of thumb is to go where the crowds are and this spot just off a main street often has a line. I went around 8:30 p.m. on a Monday. The inside was full, but I walked right up for takeout tacos. For 38 pesos per order, I got wo orders of the pastor tacos with salsa verde- one hot and one mild. The tacos were delicious! However, a few other stands I enjoyed more. But still...you can't go wrong here!

Lengua. Juicy, delicious, and perfectly seasoned

No frills. No english. Locals spot with just bomb ass tacos. I was really curious about the ojo (eyeball) taco but they ran out. I ordered the lengua (tongue) and they weren't messing around. It was basically a thick succulent piece of tongue on a tortilla. Its was delicious. We also had the pastor con queso and chorizo huarrache which were excellent.

Super fun street-side seating.

Awesome local taco stand. Limited seating inside & out for find a table and get some delicious tacos!! Fantastic complimentary table salsas. All the tacos were excellent, especially the al pastor you will notice rotating street-side on the spit. Beer & tequila available, no wine or mixed drinks.

We almost missed this place because walking by it just seems so messy and chaotic. But the reason it is so messy and chaotic is because the servers are busy keeping up with the customers. This place offers a really great taco. They have a variety of meats that range from bistek, tripas, brains, eye, carnitas, etc. This is everything that you imagine a street taco to be. After adding so many rounds of tacos we ended up with over feeding 3 people for $13. You cant beat that!

I've eaten at maybe 30 taco spots in Mexico City and this is definitely my favorite. Everything is amazing. Get the Arabe, Al Pastor, Suadero, and Tripa. The nopales and onions are great to eat with them too.

Hotel doorman recommended this joint close by my hotel as some of the best tacos in town. Wasn't impressed. My meat had a lot of fat and gristle in it. No beer sold here. They put french fries on the taco plate, which was strange, but would have been OK had they been any good and not just cold scraps. They can keep the cooked nopal (cactus slice). It had no flavor whatsoever. Look elsewhere. Many of the individual street vendors have amazing tacos that put these to shame.

I couldn't skip this spot and even though there was a huge line, it moved super fast. Granted I didn't have such a thing as bad tacos in Mexico city, I was super happy with the portions served, how quickly they prepared my order, and how delicious they were. I had the sesos and ojos tacos - highly recommend.

This time there were about 10 people waiting and I finally decided it was worth it... and it absolutely was. The tacos were incredible, the service was fast, and they bring out 5-6 different sauces so you can try different flavors with everything. I sat outside, which made the experience even better great people-watching, amazing energy, and everyone walking by looked effortlessly stylish. Mexico City really is such a trendy, vibrant city. Honestly, I still think about these tacos. I could close my eyes and dream about this place.

Full disclaimer: these are my first tacos in Mexico City. The trumpo was really good!! Highly recommend! The res was good too, but not super standout. The chicharron itself was really good, but I don't know if I love it in a taco. The trumpo with the pineapple really stole the show. It's nice that the 3 tacos come with some potatoes. The potatoes were good! It seemed smashed then fried. Can't go wrong with frying potatoes. Food came out fast! It seems like this place can get super packed and busy, which I would think is a good sign!

This…read morelocation is located by the city center and after sight seeing, my husband and I decided to stop by here for churros. Luckily when we came last Sunday, around 2 pm, there was no wait for a table. An employee saw us and told us to sit anywhere. As soon as sat down, another employee brought us menus. We ended up getting: Grande Lechero, $54 MXN ($3.13 USD)- Large size coffee with milk. When our server brought over my husband's drink, she made a grand show of pouring the milk up high into my husband's coffee. I just wished I had gotten a video of it but it was definitely very fun to watch. My husband said his coffee was good (I didn't have any because I am not much of a coffee drinker). Combo 1 with Grande chocolate drink, $155 MXN ($8.98 USD)- So this combination comes with 4 large pieces of churros, 1 dip of your choice and also a chocolate drink. I ended up choosing a Mexican hot chocolate, which is made with cinnamon and sugar. Surprisingly the drink wasn't overly sweet. And really was perfect to dip my churro into the hot chocolate. For the dip, I picked cajeta, which is caramel made with goats milk. The cajeta was excellent with the churro. I don't know if this was the best churro that I have ever had, but it is definitely one of the top ones I have ever had. My husband also enjoyed the churros and the cajeta (he also liked my hot chocolate too). --------------------------- (Total= $209 MXN or $12.11 USD prior to tip) Wait time for our items was pretty quick. We waited less than 10 minutes for everything. Also credit card is accepted so my husband paid (We have the Costco Visa credit card which does not have a foreign transaction fee, which we used exclusively when we were not paying cash). Our server brought a card reader machine to our table when we were ready to pay (for those of you unaware, in Mexico, you will not be brought your check until you ask for it because it is considered rude to give it to you beforehand, assuming that you are being rushed). Overall, we had a really great experience at this location and highly recommend checking out any of the Churrería El Moro locations the next time you visit Mexico City.

Got an order of 4 churros with caramel (cajeta) and guava (Guayaba) dipping sauces, they were out of chocolate. You can have them tossed in regular sugar or cinnamon sugar which is traditional. The churros were warm and crispy on the outside and soft inside but had a slight burnt flavor. Both dipping sauces were good but in a different way. It's like donuts topped with caramel or guava, one is more fruity and the other more sweet. Just depends what you're in the mood for or what you prefer. I also got the frances hot chocolate which is their hot chocolate with vanilla. It was better than what I had earlier at another place. Overall the churros were good but not the best i've had.

The four varieties offered were Chicharron en Adobo (pork rinds in adobo), Chicharron en Salsa Verde (pork rinds in green salsa), Frijoles Refritos (refried beans), and Papa (potatoes). Incredibly, each taco came at just 10 pesos, and you could help yourself to as much guacamole salsa, shredded lettuce, and pickled carrots/jalapeños as you'd like. The Chicharron tacos were meaty, while the Papa was starchy and mild. The one taco that was nearly inedible, however, was the Frijoles Refritos, which were incredibly salty. It was worth coming here for the atmosphere and the quick, inexpensive bites, but this place is certainly not worth going out of the way for.
