We were served salsa and bean dip with chips as we looked over the large menu selection. Our server was attentive and brought us our water while we read over the many options. The portions are huge and the food was good. One table over the gentleman order a dish that required the chef to come out and use a torch to crisp up the top before putting his seafood on top. It was an impressive demonstration.

There was no line at the carneceria and the butcher was quick to help us when we went up to the meat counter. Carneceria Meats Purchased: Short-ribs, Carne Asada (marinated) I know that you can't control how fatty the ribs are at times but they gave us very good pieces of short-ribs where we didn't have to trim them too much nor did we have to throw pieces away due to the fat. Asada was average price ($16.99) but it was very good Their tomatillo salsa was so good. Perfectly spicy. Their chicharrones were also a hit. I was able to pick up every thing we needed for a quick BBQ. Tortillas, tomatoes, beer...it was nice to have a market so small, have it all. Def will be back.

Had it not been so hot out I'd have also purchased a burrito for later. Or perhaps the 3 enchiladas for $7. Or maybe some quesabirrias. You see where I'm going. I thought the tacos here were declicious and was pretty certain I'd find the rest of the menu no different. Fresh and spicy salsas as well as a plop of grilled onions made these tacos as enticing as any In-N-Out burger and that's a compliment to both places. Just stopped by in Newman to visit and was starving so decided to quickly grab a bite before heading out of town, and this was more than worth it! The food is AMAZING! I'm definitely going to visit Newman more often just because of them. I was looking for a good place for wet burritos since the place I used to eat at Modesto (when visiting) closed down. Loved it!
