The offerings indicated someone who cooked using a bit of flair and looked like they knew how to enhance a dish with sauces. I selected the Rosemary Chicken Bacon Ranch Quesadillas. Now these are not like any quesadilla I've had as a "appetizer" at many restaurants, this was a creative melding of intricate flavors into a quasi-soft shell taco/quesadilla. The grilled chicken had great flavor and the bacon and ranch really complemented the quesadilla. The tortilla was perfect, slightly crisp, and held the entire quesadilla together and didn't fall apart after the first bite. To top it all off...I got to meet the owners/operators Frankie and Tony Wong. This couple works hard, serve up great food, and are really fun to talk to. Highly recommend you like and subscribe to their FB Page. Their menu is a dry erase board and changes daily, I can't wait to see what special item they will create next. https://www.facebook.com/Myrootsfoodtruck

The TRIPLE LAYER TOMATO AND BASIL GRILLED CHEESE ON SOURDOUGH was delish! Soft, with a crunchy outside and surprisingly not too much bread. A good amount of cheese and flavor. I'd definitely recommend. CRINKLE CUT FRIES were over cooked. I'm sad to say I didn't even finish them, which is rare for me since this cut of fries is my absolute favorite! Just too crunch and the flavor was heavy on the oil, rather than potato. Total cost was $9 before tip, which made it one of the least expensive items on the truck. Customer service was professional. Food was made quickly and from order. Pretty good, IMO.

Started with a beer and water, and they brought a large basket of warm chips and a bowl (much larger than other places) of a mild but flavorful salsa. The menu has a nice variety with more than the "standard" Mexican fare. I went with the Chori Pollo which is grilled chicken with mushrooms, Monterey jack cheese and sprinkled with chorizo sausage. I added a side of cheese dip, and the side dish is huge and includes rice, salad, and hot tortillas. The dish was good, nice flavor, not spicy, and the chorizo (not made in-house but good) kicked it up from your standard dishes. For me...I would have preferred larger pieces of chicken, but it did not detract from the overall meal. I plan on returning to try a couple of other dishes like the Birria Burger and the Elote Salad. Great service from Marlon and Roberta and the place is bright and welcoming. My only complaint...no one there could tell me the story behind the horses, and it's not mentioned on their web site LOL

Since our party was so big, most of the food came out at different times because guests arrived at different times.LOL I would say this is not your typical Mexican restaurant decor. It's super modern, the bathrooms were clean with plenty of stalls, and there were no issues with parking since it's located in a plaza. There was also plenty of waiting area and the bar is huge. Our server was friendly and patient. I would say my ceviche was a tad bland, so I'd probably try the Birria tacos next time as my friend said they were really good. I would also come back during happy hour since their horchata was really good. I asked them to add rum and it was so good with a sprinkle of cinnamon. Overall, this was a decent experience with great service.
