Decent place for OK tacos. I was kind of surprised that my friends decided to try this place since there are so many options for food in Madrid. One major pro is that the food is pretty cheap, but the tacos were not anything out of this world. I actually found many of my tacos to be quite bland compared to those of other places in the U.S. Another pro is that the restaurant stays open pretty late, compared to other places in the main part of the city. I will say that the service staff was quite wonderful. One of the waiters even gave me an extra shot with my margarita. read more

Came here last Tuesday with a meet up group and I was not impressed by the food or the restaurant overall. I ordered a quesadilla, taco el pastor, and a taco tiki. Everything was just okay, but I found myself wanting more flavor and spice. I had to add more salsa and onions to really get more flavor, so the meat and tacos themselves were just lacking in flavor. I think that they tried to make up for that by over adding salt, which in my opinion is not really a seasoning at all and just is over compensating for the lack thereof, which I believe was the case. The restaurant itself was very lacking as well in the atmosphere and cleanliness. Flies were everywhere and granted it was warm that day, but not that warm where you expect flies to be swarming. The flies were hovering over our food and hovering in the bathroom as well. I just did not feel very comfortable with that overall as I wonder how many flies may have ended up in our food. It makes me sick to kind of think about it. Also, if you have a group of more than five or so, it will be difficult to get in and to sit comfortably. We had a group of 15 and we barely fit in the back of the restaurant. I bumped into several people while trying to go the bathroom and I felt like every time I moved I was going to knock over a drink or hit someone in the face with a taco--smile. It is great that they accommodated us, but it was at the price of our comfort. This is my second time at Taqueria as they have multiple locations and the taste and flavor were just lacking both times. It will definitely be my last time this time. I would recommend going to Takos if you are really craving some authentic Mexican food while in Spain. read more

The Mexican consulate has a sign in this place endorsing it as a true representative of Mexican gastronomy. Need I say more?? I'm from Arizona and have been living in Europe...wow have I missed some good tacos! These ones were amazing! The place is teeny tiny and it can seat maybe 6 people. Everything is prepared right in front of you and the music and decor make you feel like you're back in Mexico. Every single taco was incredibly fresh and flavourful!! The corn tortillas are homemade and the salsas take it over the top. Mmmm we came here for both lunch and dinner!! I'm just sad that we only found it on the last day:( My favourite taco was the chicarron because it had that hatch chili flavour that I love!! Second favourite was probably the carnitas. I enjoy the smaller location, but if you want your tacos al pastor, you have to come here. I also order the Alhambre with flour tortillas, al pastor meat, and cheese. The meat on the spit was right next to me. Red meat, glistening pineapple. So tempting. I'm glad I indulged. Trust in taqueria mi ciudad. Great cheap tacos and great food. I found the smaller location cozier and more comfortable. Oh, and a great margarita. I'm addicted to their salt. read more

Easy and casual taco and guacamole place that is cheap, fast and yummy. The guacamole with nachos with the spicy salsa sauce is very appetizing. It is a great opening act for the taco, quesadilla and tortilla we ordered after. Try the Alhambra - a mix of meats - chicken, beef, pork tortilla. Very delicious! And the carne - grilled beef seasoned in their sauce. Delicious! And of cos order the guacamole with refillable nachos!! read more

If you live near Mexico (like I do) and eat Mexican food on a regular basis (like i do), you'll be disappointed. The only reason we ate here was because my friend, who lives in Europe, missed tacos. Guacamole was really good, margaritas were decent, otherwise tacos were underwhelming. Im not sure how tamales were because even though were ordered them, we never received, and then argued with server when they still charged us for it. We ended up paying an extra $4 euros for a tamale we never got because it was easier than trying to convince server otherwise. read more

Paseando por Madrid Centro y con un poco de hambre vimos este lugar y despues que el dia anterior habiamos ido a otro lugra mexicano y no nos fue tan bien pues queriamos redirmir esa experiencia con una mejor. entramos a Mi Ciudad, pues bueno el local estaba a no dar mas, se tenia que hacer reservacion!!! wow...si esa asi pues el lugar debe de tener algo bueno, yo soy de las que aborrece hacer una reserva en un restaurant pero si en verdad se lo merece pues me tomo la molestia. Solo habia un asiento en la barra, yo agarre ese y mi amigp pues le toco parado. No importa, porque lo que venia despues estaba bien merecido. Pedimos taco de pipian de pollo, y mole con pollo, de estos es de pipian estaba para chuparse los dedos! exquisito! despues pedimos chicharron en salsa verde, otra ves...riquisimo! pedimos tambien, pedimos otro mas pero no logro recordar el nombre. Acompañados por cerveza mexicana púes muy bien, los tacos a 1.50 es muy dificil solo ordenar uno!!! si estas en un budget no ordenes cerveza importada porque sale a 4 euros cada una, puedes ir por una Mahou a 1.50 o 2 euros la unidad. Tacos are mediocre. The quesadilla is just bad and tiny (I couldn't even swallow it). The only really good think is the agua fresca de tamarindo. I wasted 20€ here and would have much preferred Takos al Pastor which is near by, much cheaper, and actually tastes good. Just trying to warn others so they don't have to suffer through the same experience. I gave it 2 stars because the staff was friendly and the drink was good. Decided to try this place because the line at Takos Al Pastor was so long and I just wanted a quick bite. This is a very small place with dining area for 8-10 people max sitting at the bar or a bar counter. The one person staff was very nice and attentive. The tequila and beer selection was surprisingly solid. Unfortunately all of the hot food was pre-cooked and reheated via microwave. Yes, microwave. That kills it for me. I would give it 1 star if the one person staff wasn't so nice and attentive. This should really be viewed as a small bar with subpar food. read more

Awesome authentic Mexican! We were craving tacos while on vacation and tired of all the tapas. This totally hit the spot! Corn tortillas made from scratch. The Pollo Tinga tacos are the jam!! Tried a few other recommended tacos on the menu, but the pollo tinga were the best for sure. So much flavor! The salsas they give you on the side are all pretty delicious depending on what you like. Margarita was soooo good. Not the typical pre made sour mix you find at most places. Tastes so good you almost think there isnt any alcohol in it, but there is! I tried this place after trying to venture out from Takos al Pastor, and it was good. The margaritas here were fantastic and the bartender was extremely friendly and had me try this AMAZING tequila with a chili-salted rim but I never asked him where it was. It's a bit of a hole in the wall, but it's good. I would recommend Takos al Pastor over this place. read more
