Step into a delicious Mexican fiesta and enjoy incredible tacos right outside the touristy Gran Via area. There might be a long line, but it will move, and it is absolutely worth it. People are eating, and leaving, ordering, and leaving, it's a good flow of activity, a well oiled machine. Lots of seating spots. Order your meal, and wait for your name to be called out REAL LOUD, by an angel holding your glorious tacos. The price point is good, the vibes are REAL good. Gracias por todo!

So affordable, delicious quick to be served, but a long line to get in. 2nd time in a few days and tried both beef tacos this time. I prefer the Suendra- the higher quality steak called arrechhia? Has a smoky flavor and a small kick. The other is more classic Rosarito beach tacos, but shredded beef, tacos with cilantro and onions. Had to get one al pastor too cause so delicious. My kids love the horchata here, I like a Pacifico with my tacos. They also have water-pick up drinks at counter just after you ordered. The space can be lively when full- but somehow never out of tables! Worth the wait. My tip is if you order anything with cheese say "mas Meno" it is always too much cheese. And if you think you are not hungry and getting just 2 tacos, make it 4! Or 5! If you need to go back and order some more tacos it's a 10 euro min charge aka 5 al pastor- if u don't have cash.

This place did Madrid proud. Line was out the door when we arrived but it moved quickly enough. Best Mexican food I've had on this side of the pond. Definitely would come here again!

Amazing cheap tacos in madrid! Definitely recommend the el pastor taco. So flavorful and so delicious. Food comes out super quick, by the time we sat the food was basically out. Margarita pitcher is so worth it- amazing experience I will be back! Fast casual restaurant with cute decor around. Well known place so lots of customers during peak time, but you'll be seated fast don't worry!

I'm from California, where we have some of the best tacos outside of Mexico and it blew me away! This is the best taco place I've been to in Spain and it transforms your experience. Despite a long line, the food and service here comes out fast and the quality is excellent. The vibe here is amazing and bustling. I would definitely recommend to anyone in the area.

This place is crazy busy. Line out the door when we arrived. It does move fast as they are very good at taking the orders and getting the food out. Watching them deliver orders so fast was almost a show in itself. The tasco were fantastic. Definitely give this place a try.

I must not tell lies. I think I had the best tacos of my life here in one of Madrid's most touristy neighborhoods -- and I don't care if admitting that means I automatically relinquish my "born and raised in California" credentials. Yes, the line will be long. Yes, you will be tempted to abandon your plans and figure out a plan B for lunch or dinner. And a resounding yes -- every bite of those €1-1.50 tacos will be worth the 30 minute or so wait. I squandered most of my time in line nervously eyeing the seating in the back. It was a little after 5 PM but already so crowded, so I didn't know if we would find anywhere to sit. Lo and behold, we snagged a table, and after what felt like five minutes or so, our heaping platter of tacos had arrived. Fair warning: if you don't speak Spanish, definitely translate the menu beforehand as there isn't an English version available. My Spanish is shabby (as in, I resorted to "oui" instead of "si" after my taxi driver asked me a question) so I prepared by diligently copy-and-pasting "tinga de pollo" (chicken with chipotle and onion) into an iPhone note to refer to at the register. They don't skimp on the meat here, even though the tacos are a bargain. The tacos were teeming with flavorful chicken. You can't go wrong with the complimentary sauces on the table -- they're tasty and don't overwhelm. Throw back a guava Jarritos with your taco feast and be sure to report back once you've had the best tacos of your life here too.

Had to drop into Takos al Pastor after seeing all the rave reviews. Their tacos are a steal (1,20€ to 1,50€). Small line on a Wednesday (5:00pm) but only took 10 minutes to order. There's plenty of seating in the back. Besides tacos, they also have alambres, quesadilla and tortas. Two bottles of salsa (verde and roja) are brought to your table. - Doble jamaica (3,00€) - hibiscus was refreshing. - 10x Takos - pastor (1,50€), arrachera (1,50€), suadero (1,20€), cochinita pibil (1,20€), tinga de pollo (1,20€) and nopal con queso (1,20€). Generously portioned (twice the amount of meat you normally get) and excellently seasoned. Favourites were the pollo and suadero. Least favourite was the arrachera (skirt steak was slightly overcooked). TAP's a gem. Delicious tacos.

Some might argue that the perfect food doesn't exist. I would point them to a steak quesadilla at Takos Al Pastor. It's truly the pinnacle of a quesadilla: savory, cheesy, filling, and flavorful (especially when doused in some of the restaurant's green and red salsas). Pair it with a Jarritos soda or a tall glass of horchata, and it's absolutely out of this world. This is not to undervalue the tacos at Takos Al Pastor. They're small, but pack a lot of flavor into 3ish bites. I'd recommend getting a variety of them to share if you're dining in a group. In terms of service, the line to the register is intimidating but moves fairly quickly. Just be alert after placing your order as servers rush out of the kitchen, yelling out your name with hot plates in hand. The interior is colorful and cheery-- combined with the food, it's hard to be in a bad mood at Takos Al Pastor. A MUST-TRY for anyone in Madrid.

My friend and I came back a couple times during our trip to this place because it is just that good!! The tacos and sauces were delicious and a really great price as well. We also got Tinto and some other drinks which were also delicious. The service was quick and it's definitely a popular spot but don't let the line turn you away!

If you're looking for AMAZING tacos, this is your place. These tacos rival the best I've had in Mexico/US. You have to try the al pastor and go ahead and get a pitcher of margaritas when you order... there is usually quite a wait. This place was flooded with young tourists and university students, but that's because this is the perfect spot for pre-club sustenance.

This is a tasty taco restaurant! There might be a line outside but it goes quickly. We shared three different tacos and a steak quesadilla as well as a tamarind margarita. The food came out so quickly we almost weren't at a table after ordering. It was very affordable only €20.

Takos Al Pastor has been a favorite of mine in Madrid since 2018. Back then, the location was tiny but the new and improved location is as good and much more spacious. While in Madrid, I ate here 3 separate times. The wait, which has always been extremely long, is more than worth it. Advice is to get there at 12:45 PM if you're having lunch as they open at 1 and the line is already forming by then. Located right off of Gran Via, the restaurant has excellent quality tacos, alambres, and quesadillas along with horchata, margaritas, and other drinks as well. We ordered the vegetable alambres, which is similar to an American-style fajitas plate in that the food is served with tortillas so that you can make your own tacos. The alambre had cheese, mushrooms, onions, peppers, and slices of avocado which were perfect to make tacos with. The cheese is always super melty and is ideal for this meal. The tacos are, of course, the highlight of the meal, and the we ordered almost every taco they have on the menu. The al pastor is especially good, as is the arrachera, nopal (cactus) with cheese, and the chorizo with potato. The salsas that come with your meal in little bottles are also both wonderful. I can't wait for the next visit to Madrid so that I can have these tacos again.

I'm so glad I've had authentic…read moreMexican food in Mexico and in Detroit's Mexican Town many times so I know how good it can be. Santita stands with the best Mexican food I've ever eaten. To start, it already stands out from every other restaurant I've visited in Madrid because of his beer selection. Instead of ordering Cerveza, and getting the one beer the place has, you have nice choice of Mexican beers, served in a bottle. Negra Modelo, one of my favorites, was among them. Margaritas are small, but cheap (5€), tasty, and potent. Guacamole is creamy and robust, served in a stone mortar, as it's traditionally been made for centuries. The tortilla chips are thick, and not particularly salty, but they're a perfect pairing to start the meal. Please, please order the Los Ignacios...the most perfect Mexican pizza you'll ever have in your life. The description on the menu says "our version of the traditional nachos". For Americans, this evokes tortilla chips with melted cheese, onions, and peppers with low grade meat. Here, you get a thin, crispy crust layered with pico de gallo, cheese, beans, guacamole, meat...yes, similar ingredients in crappy bar nachos, but so, so much better. Tacos are tiny discs piled with meat. The tacos de pollo (chicken) is covered in a rich crema, with small pieces of lean chicken breast. The tacos de chochinita had a massive mound of marinated pork. All had pickled red onions on top. My wife didn't like all the crema, but I did. The pork was excellent. The burrito de pollo was massive and suitable for sharing (though our friend didn't want to share). It has excellent rice with the chicken. We had tried to order a side of rice previously, and we were told it couldn't be ordered separately. Not sure why that is, but this is a great way to get it. Yes, we were stuffed by then. No, we didn't stop ordering. We closed with coconut ice cream, which was pretty standard, but the margarita ice cream? Wow. It's a scoop of ice cream that gets a shot of tequila dumped on it. The sweetness balances the tequila beautifully. Service was also excellent. We ordered a few rounds of drinks (lost track of how many...oops). All the things we ordered set us back 93€. What a great way to experience authentic Mexican cuisine.
