This was my favorite restaurant I've been to in my whole semester abroad. I got 2 tacos, a quesadilla, and a drink for less than $10. Most tacos are only $1!! Don't bother going here because we found out after traveling there that the location has since closed. So that was quite disappointing. We took the hike over to the other location close to the Puerta del Sol Plaza and found that location closed for vacation during August. Yelpers beware and look for other options. read more

The tacos are good, but idk if they're over an hour wait good. Come early because once it's dark out, the line wraps around the block and they run out of things. Service is as good as you can expect given the volume of customers. Once you order, there's still a bit of a wait to actually get your food. I wish they would remove things from the menu once they run out, but they only tell you when it's your turn to order. The attractive cashier speaks excellent English in case your Spanish is rusty, while most of Madrid won't speak English. It's a bit overrated based on the online ratings versus the actual experience, but it's a worthy stop. The quesadillas are perfectly cheesy, and the quality of the beefsteak is okay. The Takos de Tinga de Pollo (based on the flavorful Mexican dish Chicken Tinga) are delicious, with a small piece of pineapple and chicken that is both sweet and slightly spicy. The tacos al pastor are too runny and messy for my preference, but very flavorful. Long lines indicate the popularity of the place, and it makes for an excellent lunch or dinner. read more

Delicioso! We each enjoyed 3 tacos or a taco and a quesadilla. They were out of torta bread and nopales (cactus), so we tried steak, 2 kinds of pork, and mushroom/cheese. The line was long, but it moved fast. Order and pay at the register, pick up your drinks, and find yourselves a table. Servers will call your name and bring your food when it's ready. Went here once every couple of months while I was living in Madrid. Great tacos and drinks. Very cheap, delicious menu items from quesadillas to tacos. If you love greasy Mexican food, Takos al Pastor is the way to go. Usually there is always a long line, sometimes the wait is up to 30 minutes. But it is always worth the wait. At least at the Sol location. I think they have already started to expand to locations with more seating, which is great because you often would feel very rushed to eat and leave because of the lack of seats and the plethora of people waiting in line. It was part of the concept. Tiki Taco is really the only other restaurant in Madrid that has the same concept that is of competition. I think Takos al Pastor may need to step up their margarita game since the main reason I would ever choose Tiki Taco over Takos al Pastor is their margaritas. read more

As a long time resident of CA I can say with confidence that the tacos here are as good as anything you'll find in LA, San Diego, or the Bay. The quesadillas are to die, both flavor wise and from the cheesy overload. 5/5 the best tacos in a while. I live in America so I eat my fair share of Mexican tacos and these were outstanding. There was a bit of a line but worth the wait. We ordered the tamarind juice and 2 (cactus tacos) 2 (pork tacos). After ordering we sat down and our food came out promptly. The cactus was really cool I have never had a taco like that with it's light flavor and cheesy goodness. The pork was divine I could eat those every day and be super happy. The other location is way better, go to that one! This location didnt accept card. They didn't have Pastor tacos available. & they didn't give pinapples for the chicken tacos. They said it was an extra charge when the other location gave it for free. The tacos were also a bit cold. The other location came out steaming hot. Last thing, the steak were cut up way smaller than the other location. It had the same amount of meat, but i personally like biting into bigger meat. Amazing cheap tacos!!!! Recommended by our tour guide and did not dissappoint and they have a menu of one euro tacos which was what we got and they were delicious. The chicken taco meat was perfectly cooked and perfectly spiced as was the pork taco. There is plenty of pace to sit as they have room upstairs and downstairs and the AC was much appreciated on a hot Madrid day. A beer to accompany to tacos is a must! Hands down BEST tacos I've had in Madrid. They are authentic and worth the wait. Most people only know of the one in Sol, but this one in Plaza Mayor is bigger and there's more room to be able to sit. Tacos are €1 each and the margaritas are amazing. My favorite to have my friends try is the Maracuya (Passion Fruit) one. The chicken, papa y chorizo, and the arrechera (€1.50) are my favorites (pictured). The service here is terrible. I came here last night and the cashier spoke great english and Spanish. I asked the girl for extra lime and she refused to give me extra lime. I liked the food so much I decided to bring friends. They told us they were out of steak chicken and el pastor. After ordering we see everyone after us with steak tacos. I went to the front to ask and they acted like I didn't understand him. And then start talking shit in Spanish. I speak english and Spanish. This is terrible customer service as I own a restaurant.
