I love a good dinner out. Tonight with no set plans, we drove into Oconomowoc and there on the main street, Wisconsin Ave, sat Taquerîa Doblado food truck.. We pulled into the parking lot and found a great menu with really reasonable pricing and a super-friendly man in the window. We ordered a Quesidilla and 2 Tacos, both with a bottle of Mexican Coke. I then noticed Churros on the menu board and had to have one of those too. Everything was great! This was a perfect meal for us as we ate at the picnic table in the parking lot. Atmosphere? Actually, really nice! We could people watch and carry on a nice conversation with the man in the window; I wish I remembered his name, but his pride in his work and food was extraordinary! Finding a great Mexican food truck in this little town is a treat, and not one to be missed! No accessibility issues since it is outside and open to all. read more

We were greeted with a smile and very pleasant service. We love Mexican and this might be our new favorite stop. It was quite busy on a Friday night so the wait was about 30 min, but so worth it. We have fish tacos, chicken nachos, tamales, steak tacos, and a Mexican burger. Everything was fresh tasting and not super heavy. We will definitely be back!! read more

Seriously a great food truck! I really enjoyed my tacos, as I knew I would because who doesn't love street tacos. My grandma ordered a burrito "without the shell" and the man working was happy to tend to her request. Furthermore, the service was great! As a new comer to WI from TX, I never thought we would find such authentic and delicious tacos! Much less at a taco truck in downtown Oconomowoc! We Decided to give the truck a try one night. It was perfect! We had a couple of tortas and tacos and they were fresh and HOT. Most time I would expect left overs since it's so late at night, but nope! It was so good, we went back for round two last night, thinking maybe we were just hungry the first time LOL but no! They outdid themselves once again! The staff is super friendly and they work quickly. Agua de horchata is bomb and the tacos de asada are perfect! Needless to say, it's a must try for authentic Mexican tacos! And tortas! A bit of a long wait though, they seem to do alot of delivery/online business, so I was apparently low in the que despite few people waiting for food. Never again! We have ordered four times from Taqueria Doblado - twice in person and twice with Doordash. All four times we have been shorted entire meals. Doordash instantly comps for missing food but it's extremely difficult to recover our payment when we've picked up our order (after driving all the way downtown for the pickup and returning home). We always have to pool our meals to feed the person who is missing their order. That's ridiculous Poor management, mediocre food, and missing food that we've paid for means we won't be going to Taquería Doblado again. read more

Food iS good but if you like 45 minutes waiting for three fucking tacos then. This is your jam. Wtf does it take so long?

We ordered three orders of chicken chimichanga dinners. We all liked them, they were grilled on the flat top and one side was so hard we had a hard time cutting through the tortilla and the other side was soggy from sitting in the styrofoam even though we live five minutes away. We waited for the order so it wasn't sitting there. Most chimichangas are fried so I assume they don't have a fryer. Didn't care for the salsa that was provided. The filling was pretty good though. Tuesday and Thursday are 99 cent tacos. read more

I was very happy to see a new taco truck pop up in Oconomowoc after Chilango Express drove off into the sunset, so I gave it a shot and was very impressed. The food is fantastic. Even my Southern-California-native wife loved it, and she is not easily impressed by "Midwest Mexican" food. The the Pastor Torta is our family favorite. We love this place! The food is always great and the service is wonderful. The asada and pastor are very good, but the chorizo and lengua are my favorites, usually in taco form, but the tortas (sandwiches) are delicious, too! The owner is very friendly and thoughtful, always looking to make sure our experience is good. My toddler loves the asada (steak) quesadilla. Taqueria Doblado serves some of the best tacos I've had. If you don't know this is a taco truck parked in downtown Oconomowoc. I will admit I always order the same thing because they are so good: tacos with corn tortillas, el pastor, cilantro and onions. The pork is seasoned perfectly, not too little and not over powering. They offer hot or mild sauce with the tacos. I get the hot sauce. It's a good amount of heat, but not overly hot. If you like hot and spicy food you'll like the hot sauce that offers good taste and a balance of spices. The lime wedge provides a splash of bright citrus flavor to compliment the heat of the hot sauce. You can get the dinner of 3 tacos and rice and beans, but we just order a bunch of tacos. Why fill up on rice and beans when the tacos taste this good? Tip: phone your order in ahead of time. Most people do this. Even when it doesn't look busy you will find a lot of people pulling up to the truck to pick up their orders and so it will take a while if you don't call ahead. I can't speak for their other food, but I'd highly recommend the tacos and those are usually a good test on how good a place is overall. read more
