The fruits are so fresh, the selection is a spectacular variety. I love the lactose free options like the sorbets. I haven't even thought to write a review for this place because I adore it so much. I've been coming to Tappys Yogurt since Kindergarten and it's very nostalgic to me. One thing I've noticed though is over the years business has sort of died down. There are many flavors of yogurt here and it always tastes good. They also have little sample cups so you can try as many flavors as you want for free. The only problem I have with this place now is sometimes the toppings taste stale. The last time I went the marshmallows I got were hard and just not good. I'm not giving up on Tappy's, but this latest experience was terrible. Maybe it had something to do with it being the day after Christmas at 7 PM. The place had a bad odor when we walked in and it was clear that the place hadn't been cleaned in a while. Several items - all of the fruit toppings, for example - were out, and the ingredients area in general was a mess. The two individuals behind the counter were busy on their phones but were responsive when approached with a question. The yogurt, et al, that we got ended up being fine, so that's a plus. We stopped by Tappy's Yogurt last night for some frozen yogurt. When you arrive there is plenty of parking outside the yogurt shop. Also, there are sample cups located near the register when you enter. Unfortunately, as I started to sample the different flavors, I couldn't find a flavor that I liked. I decided to order the pomegranate raspberry tart I believe and it was just okay. I mixed the tart yogurt and strawberry yogurt into my bowl to try to make the yogurt better. It's my go to neighborhood Froyo place! Great choices in flavors and toppings and the service is also pretty good for the most part.

Great yogurt, but the place is filthy, almost fearful of catching something. The floors are all sticky. You can hardly walk on the floor. The trays with the add-ons are filthy and have not been cleaned out daily. The yogurt machines are not in good working order takes forever to get some of the yogurt out. The staff don't seem to care and they don't seem to have an owner to make sure the place gets cleaned. read more

Their frozen yogurts taste good but don't buy yogurt here unless you've taken out a personal loan.. I got just a small amount of yogurt the other day, less than a kids cone and they charged me seven dollars!! My granddaughter had the same experience. Lots of differnt flavors. I wouldn't say all of them were great. The NY cheesecake is kind of weird and very cream cheese / sour cream tasting. I think maybe if I expected it, it would more so taste good but I was expecting like normal cheesecake. The salted Carmel is odd too. Mango is very tasty. And I'm so so on the cake batter - it was just sugar-y tasty in my opinion There's lots of toppings and it's decently clean. Pricing is decent, not too expensive. My real complaint is that It's not clear which ones have which allergens and the toppings are easily cross-contaminated for nut allergy too. I'll be nervous to bring my daughter back again. But since TCBY closed, this is our closest one so we will probably come back. read more

The last few times I have been to Tappy's I've been very disappointed to see how this business has deteriorated. My last visit on 8-16-24 will be my last. The store was dirty - floor, tables, chairs and counters. Windows and door were filthy, covered in fingerprints and dirt. Some of the yogurt machine dispensers were not working. Two others I tried dispensed the yogurt so slowly I gave up. The topping bar was a mess with a multitude of toppings all over the counter. The employee behind the counter had ample opportunity to clean it but did not touch it while I was there. Also he had a mop of hair that should have been covered with a net or hat but wasn't. I'm disappointed because this was my go-to yogurt bar for years but I won't be returning. This was the same situation on a prior visit so apparently this is now how the operation is being run. read more

They added peanut butter yogurt and I'm a super fan of that. I haven't been able to find it anywhere else. It's my favorite for sure! My kids really enjoy coming here since they get to add whatever they want and go bananas. Something I didn't get to do as a kid. We only had TCBY when it was pay per topping. The self serve by-weight yogurt today is wonderful. This location is always clean but sometimes busy. I think that's a pretty great sign! The toppings are plentiful. This place has the best self serve frozen yogurt in all of DFW! And I'v tried a few places. It's the only place I'd be willing to eat froyo from in the winter. My favorite thing about this place is the smoothness of the original yogurt, and the delicious cheesecake bites I pair with it. I just visited here today. I am pregnant and mistakenly ate rotten fruit. This can make me and my baby very sick! Stay away from the blackberries!! I didn't even notice until I noticed it tasted funny and then looked at the open fruit to see mold on the inside of the blackberry. Tappy's has a great variety of flavors and dietary offerings. There were yogurts and sorbets, low fat, no fat and no sugar added all available. The sample cups to try the yogurt are up at the register and you're off to the races. I tried the NY cheesecake and it was no fat and tasted like it. It was sour like cream cheese but very one note. I also tried the sea salt caramel pretzel yogurt which is low fat and it was very creamy. It did taste a little salty but had a weird after taste. My choice for yogurt was the strawberry shortcake. It was creamy and strawberry forward. The toppings bar had several fruits like blueberries and blackberries, cereal like fruity pebbles, gummy bears and chocolate candies. My 6.8oz cup cost me less than four dollars and I loved every bite. read more

I provided my feedback to one of the employees today, but I don't think it'll reach the manager/owner. The employee looked annoyed while I was talking. So, I've been here 3 times. It's not a destination; rather, convenient, as it's easily accessible from 114. The Good: + very clean + nice selection of flavors + Happy Hour discount of 10% Monday - Friday + convenient location + the BEST granola I've tasted at any yogurt shop The Bad * upon entering the store on my first 2 visits, the young lady DID NOT greet me. Honestly, at first, I thought it was racial (I'm black). But, as other customers came in...no greeting for them either. She never said a word to any customer from the time we entered the store to when we selected our flavors and toppings. She only spoke when ringing up the order. And it was sorry...just a measly "Thanks for coming". The Ugly - the cashier gives you your spoon. From what I can gather, the spoons are placed in a drawer near the register. Once you pay, you get the spoon. The cashier does not wear gloves. The cashier does not give you cover the spoon with a napkin, when given to the customer. I cannot see how clean this drawer is. I cannot see if the cashier touches the part that will go into my mouth. Thank God, there's a water faucet that's accessible to customers because I wash my spoon off before I use it. If the store is concerned about people stealing yogurt, for cleanliness sake, keep the spoons in view behind the register. Times must be bad if people are stealing yogurt. Recommendations for the store ! train your staff to speak to ALL customers ! teach them how to engage in a conversation; it doesn't take much to say "How's your day?" We won't bite! ! I've been to this place many times and it's great. I decided to try Yogurt Tree today since it was close to work and that was a mistake. While Yogurt Tree had a poor selection of toppings (and the cereal topping I got was stale), bland yogurt, and just a dirty feeling, Tappy's Yogurt has a great selection of well stocked toppings, incredible tasting yogurt (big fan of just the original tart), and a great feeling. I was very excited to see this place finally open. Once I was able to make my way over there to check out the fare, I was not disappointed. This shop has 8, yes.... EIGHT, yogurt machines! That's 16 flavors du jour, 24 if you count the swirl function. That's more by far than any other of the yogurt shops the fam has visited. Seeing as how I didn't want to come off as a total pain (or pig), I kept my sampling to a minimum. My fav is the Original Tart and I was happy with their version. I also tried the acaiberry, but that tasted a bit like medicine I was forced to consume as a child. Sorry Tappy's... it's not you. That flavor hasn't impressed me anywhere I've been... the name is just so fun I keep giving it a chance. {{edit: I owe acaiberry an apology. It was the Pomegranate with "extra stuff" that tasted like medicine... not acaiberry. So, acaiberry, I will be giving you another shot... if I ever see you out on the town again. As for Pomegranate, I usually like you, just not this time!}} I wasn't impressed with the amount of cold toppings. IMO, the owners would have done better to lose 1 fro-yo machine and get either a larger toppings cooler or 2 coolers. And saved $$ in the process. (I know how $$ those fro-yo machines are, especially new!) In doing that, they'd still have had more machines than any of the shops I've visited and a lot more cold toppings to offer. As for the dry toppings... wow... I saw some items on there that I haven't seen anywhere else. Nilla wafers? Shut. up. I'm so making a chocolate-banana pudding concoction next time I go. 5 stars just for the Irish mint! Being unaware of the time, I came here right at close. The employees were nice enough to let us have our yogurt fix, thanks guys! Ive never had a mint flavor at any other yogurt place I've been to. It has become a new favorite of mine! Same taste as mint chocolate chip, just different texture of course. I got it with Mochi, cinnamon toast crunch, and almonds. I definitely did well with this combo...I wanted more after I was done! Only at .35 cents an ounce...I should've thought to get more. We sat on the outside benches which was a cute little set up and it made the experience that much better...thankfully the weather accommodated. Highly recommend Tappy's. Ohhhh Tappy's. We LOVE Tappy's. I don't know if you could pick up on that right away but just in case you didn't fully get it, we really freaking love this place. We try to limit our visits to 1-2 weekly. Ugh, I know right? Totally not enough. The options for flavors are spectacular. Yea, I said it. Spectacular. I've had one of every flavor (at least I believe I have) and I like everything that I've tried. Their yogurt seriously doesn't taste healthy at all, which means they are doing something very right. Favorite flavors are: White chocolate milkshake, pumpkin, snickerdoodle, barista coffee, country vanilla, and the original tart is great with fresh fruit. People complain that there aren't enough toppings and I can agree with that, but they don't deserve less stars for it. They have a decent amount of options and the toppings that they do have are good quality. The cheesecake chunks are my fav. The pricing is decent and service is always good. The people are friendly and keep the store very clean. I have no complaints there. And the people who complain about the container size: put less in. Not a big deal. Lots of different flavors to choose from, lots of toppings too. I asked the yogurt guy how it worked, (cause I guess I didnt notice the huge signs explaining it all over the place). Pretty much, get your own yogurt, toppings and pay 30 cents an ounce. He handed me a few sample cups too. I tested, then loaded up my cup. All the cups are giant, but beware.. if you get a lot you pay a lot.. it very easy to fill up that huge cup. I got peanut butter, vanilla and birthday cake yogurts with lots of fruity toppings. Good selection of toppings to go with the 16 flavors of yogurt rotated regularly. Tappy's manages to please almost everyone with a balanced menu of tart, sweet, no sugar added, non-fat, and low-fat options. There are so many choices that it's hard not to mix and match froyo and toppings--like some of the younger patrons seem to be doing. I tried the Irish mint that everybody seems to rave about; and I admit it's creamier than most I've tried--but I wouldn't order it again. I naturally gravitated toward the chocolate and was happy to find it sharp and chocolatey than most I've tried. Pricing is reasonable; staff was friendly; and the place seems to be always packed during the hot summer evenings. Indoor and outdoor seating is limited, since everybody likes to bring the entire family to Tappy's. But who doesn't like dessert? Kid-friendly place, despite that some of the tended to spend several minutes deciding on their flavors or making a mess. I'm still on the fence about Tappy's chocolate, so I'll have to make a return visit give them another try. Room for improvement: Wish they offered different sized cups. read more

Several friends of ours told us about this yogurt place near Vista Ridge Mall and we stopped in one night to have some. First off, get the little sample cups and go try two or three before you get the bucket...er...bowl for what you decide on. They weigh it and its all the same price, yogurt, sauces, syrups, fruit add ins, chips, cookie dough bites, all the same price. They must have 13 or 13 kinds of yogurt, but I went crazy over the red velvet cake. It really needed no add in, but I have had in plain and with a few cookie dough bites. Its is GREAT! Visited Tappy's for the first time last weekend and needless to say, I am a fan. When you walk in you are greeted by friendly staff that explain what you need to do. With the many picks of yummy frozen yogurt of all flavors - even some as a sorbet - everyone is sure to find something they like. Also, the toppings are so yummy. They had such an assortment that again, everyone should be happy. They do have a "free" water dispenser, but he cups are not much bigger than small dixie cups. They do not offer anything else to drink - so be warned. The place is clean, the staff is friendly, very affordable and the yogurt is yummy. I will not be back. We walk in and the young man At the front looks like he has some friends over. They were all standing at the front counter eating yogurt and talking. Actually no they were jumping and yelling every five seconds. They were SOOO LOUD. Then we grab our cups and make way to the fro yo machine. They had two flavors. Vanilla and I'm pretty sure tart. I think the signs were in the wrong place though. I'll explain why in a sec. I got (or so I thought) the vanilla yogurt. Then we went to the topping bar. There were a few toppings there. That's it. There was cookie dough, strawberry popping boba, brownie bites, and sprinkles. I got cookie dough and strawberry boba. When we got to the counter the boys were still screaming and playing around. We said excuse me, two of them turned around, looked at us, and went back to talking. We sat there and finally screamed "EXCUSE ME" they backed away and started talking about us. They said "why are they being so rude we weren't doing anything" I turned around and gave them the stink eye. That made them laugh even more.
