One word of caution. If you open a tab, they take your card and put it in a folder, and they then give you a card to use during the evening. Banks say don't let your card out of your sight..... What can you do if you want to open a tab? This place need to do a rethink; other places manage.
The staff were great and patient, given my friend's particular requirements for his wife's drinks.
I'm not a tapas follower, so this was all new to me. When choosing the 3 for £9.95 option they come on slabs of wood (in their dishes), but not in the groups that were ordered. Not a great issue to swap things around. We also ordered a side order of onion rings, and two sides of fries; both were good, but the first had an excellent crispness, and flavour.
A mixture of tapas were order, so not going to go into detail. All very nice.
Two bottles of wine for the two ladies!!!! £34.50
I had two pints of Becks for me £3.80 per pint.
Estrella was £4.50 per pint.
Friends shared the sticky toffee pudding - £4.95 looks fine with a dollop of ice cream.
My friend and I had Americano coffees; had two sips and had to leave, too strong and quite bitter.
The noise level wasn't too bad initially, but when the place started to empty the sound of one table boomed. This again a place where there is nothing to cushion the sound. Although the music wasn't loud, it still contained the bass boom boom..... You can't appreciate the music, so why air it? I wear two hearing aids and the sound just gets amplified, in the end I had to remove, and cause problems with things having to be repeated, as I couldn't now hear people's voices.
There was an issue with an extra tapas on the bill, but this was quickly rectified.
NOTE: The 3 for £9.95, is shown as a discount at the bottom of the bill.
Would I go back? Yes, try and sample some of the other food. read more
