The food is good and the workers work really hard to get you in and out to make your flight on time. It used to be called Café breeze.

Poor attitude by servers. I know they're busy but employees are not treating each other well. Rude.

We were sitting around talking about something sweet. We all had a sweet tooth and was hungry at…read morethe same time. Then somebody brought up sweet potato pie. Why did they say that? Now normally on August you can't really find a good sweet potato pie but low and behold my people told me about this place. I am not from Sarasota so I didn't know the gem they had down the road. Literally. So what did we do? Call them. How many lies do you have? I have three left. Hold them I'm on my way. Now once my friend for there she decided to buy some barbecue too. So we could snack but the main objective today was pie. She scooped up some brisket sandwiches and some ribs too. When she walked in the house and gave me my own individual pie I'm thinking it's just a slice. Nope it's an individual deep dish pie for one person. Did I say deep dish? Oh yes God! The crust was not store bought. It had a heavy presence of butter, it was flaky and it was also slight sweet. I could have ate the pie crust all by itself. The taste omg just the right texture. It was heavy, not loose. Sweet but not overpowering the sweet potato. Just the right amount of butter, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. Jesus my friend can't never come visit Atlanta without bringing me at least two of these pies. I couldn't eat it all at one time either. So not sleep on these pies. Oh and there were no strings either. The barbecue was dry rub and some of the best I have ever had. I wish I had more of it but again it was a snack and not the focus. Best believe I will have me another pie.

I love the story of this place!!! TRUE small and local! Captain Brian's Seafood Market & Restaurant…read morehas a rich history going back over 40 years. Captain Brian Bochan, Sarasota local, spent a decade working as a commercial fisherman before opening this beloved local spot in 1984. Four years later, it grew from a fish market and take-out spot to a full restaurant. Captain Brian's carries on its local legacy and keeps it in the "family" with the current owner who used to work in the kitchen at Captain Brian's! The lobster specials here are insane with a 2 and a quarter pound PLUS a 1 pound whole lobster with 2 sides being amongst the most popular. It is no wonder why this place is packed nightly with locals! They also have a HUGE fishtank in the middle of the restaurant! It was fun to watch the fish swimming while dining!

Sad to see a dropoff in quality and increase in prices. This place used to have very fresh fish…read more It's always been a bit of a retirement home both in regards to decor and clientele, but the food used to make up for it. Unfortunately, the oysters have gotten rubbery and the lobster is gamey. Prices are fairly expensive now, and the restaurant is crowded and dirty. Today I saw several customers seated at tables that still had checks and cutlery from previous patrons, and so I suspect they aren't cleaning much. Sad to see another old Sarasota establishment decline.

I was the only customer there at the time, which made the pickup fast and smooth. The shop itself was clean, modern, and well lit. Because I had a "Surprise Bag," I didn't get to choose my items. She packed up five very large, very delicious donuts, and every single one looked great. So far, we've tried the yeast donut with pink icing and sprinkles and the yeast donut with maple sugar icing. Both were HUGE, fresh, and genuinely tasty. My 3-year-old was absolutely in heaven, even though she couldn't finish more than half of hers. My 1-year-old loved the couple of bites she was allowed to have, too. The value through Too Good To Go was excellent, especially since the regular prices seem pretty high. Still, the quality was there, and the donuts were fresh and flavorful. We will definitely be going again--a great deal, friendly service, and delicious donuts all around!

I saw online they offer a cheddar everything bagel, that will be something I will return for soon. For this first visit I went with their Breakfast Croissant, a sausage, egg, bacon, and cheese sandwich. I was hungry and this sandwich went a long ways in satisfying that issue. I was a little surprised the sandwich was premade and sitting in a food warmer, but after I finished it I thought it was flavorful, soft and easy to eat, and warm. Having it ready to hand out instead of waiting for it to be cooked was a convenience. My donut, because I have to have a donut, was a Chocolate Bavarian Cream. Fresh, very sweet, very good.
