Good food, fun atmosphere, great beer selection. A fun place to have dinner with friends

Service was super slow and at one point we thought they forgot about us. Food was just ok.

We've been here twice now. We stopped there in April while we were on a weekend getaway and again on a Tuesday during a golf trip. The service was prompt and friendly. We sat outside on the sidewalk patio. It was a nice setting. The tap menu is extensive. Everyone was happy with their sandwiches. Everything was reasonably priced. We'll definitely stop again when we're in the area. read more

Great little place to enjoy a beer in Petoskey. They have an electronic board showing on the drafts on tap that night as well as how much is left in the keg. I went with a flight and was able to try 4 delicious 5oz pours. My favorite was a kombucha IPA. I wish there would have been more food options but the brussel sprout combo was delicious! read more

Excellent spot for high-quality Craft Beer dining spot in downtown Petoskey. They have extraordinary high ceilings and open air front (when the weather is nice) which gives a not crowded feeling even when they are busy. We ordered carryout for our first night in Petoskey. Food was ready in approximately 20 minutes. My son and I both had the bacon smash burger and were very happy with our choice. The burger was fresh and delicious and the bacon gives it a unique almost smoked taste. My fries were nice and crispy with a good taste. My husband said his fried chicken sandwich was probably one of the best chicken sandwiches he's had. The totchos were good but a lot of the cheesy sauce wound up on the bottom. Wow... Decided to try somewhere new on a weekend visit and this place blew me away. The bartender ( Matt I think) and staff were excellent. Now on to what I keep having food dreams over and that's those WINGS! I don't know if I've ever had as big of wings and the buffalo was absolutely perfect. My husband and I had a late lunch at Tap 30 on a weekday. We sat outside and enjoyed watching the people and traffic on Mitchell St. my husband had a burger that was a bit dry and thin for his taste but still delivered as he ordered. I had the fried chicken sandwich which was really good! The fries were excellent. The service was good and when I paid the bill I left a good tip. The problem arose when my husband looked back over the receipt. We were charged an extra $2 for BBQ sauce for his burger. We were also charged a $3 service fee that we knew nothing about because the bill was brought in a folder and we put our card with it to run. When the server came to get the card, she swiped it on the spot with a remote scanner and turned it to me to sign and leave a tip. We didn't realize we had already been charged a fee for service. I don't know if this is standard in Petoskey, but LESSON LEARNED, we won't make the same mistake twice. read more

Wow, two o clock on a Thursday afternoon and the service was horrible. Server had no personality, took forever for the food the come and it was bland and tateless. Also, the server never bothered to check in to see if the food was ok or if I wanted another beer. Would never come back! read more

fish tanks are too small for the species they have inside, are not well kept and there's no hiding objects or foliage.. a fish that requires a 20 gal tank minimum shouldn't be kept is what seemed like smaller then a five gal.. honestly the food was mid and lacked flavor but staring at the fish made me loose my appetite all together. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by Tap30! The food had great flavor and portion sizes - I thought the appetizers we had were fantastic and I enjoyed my lamb rice bowl! The only thing was that service was a touch slow - it didn't look like they were too busy but our waiter rarely came by (we had been done with our apps for awhile before she came to take our main order). The blueberry lemonade shandy was light, refreshing, and gave me a nice buzz. I was very happy to see a vegan option, and ordered the impossible burger with sweet potato fries. Delicious! I got the optional cinnamon and sugar sprinkled over my sweet potato fries. They were thin, crispy, not too sweet - yum! The burger had a good flavor, vegan cheese (yay!) and was delicious. My dining partner had a real beef burger, she loved it and couldn't finish - it was big! (Detroit smash burger). Service was friendly and fast! Food was fresh and hot. Decided to try Tap 30 after exploring the local area, and were looking to grab a quick beer and bite. Really happy that we stopped here, it had a laid back vibe and we were able to watch some football. We got the Pretzels & Cheese, and that was the best decision of lunch time. They were perfectly coated in salt and butter, and literally melted in your mouth. Seriously these are fire . We also shared a plate of equally delicious Pork Belly tacos, the slaw really makes the taco. My husband loved his order of wings, saying the buffalo sauce was spicy and a little sweet. I ordered the Vegan Burger, but asked for a brioche bun. It was very flavorful and almost tasted like real meat, and had fresh sautéed onions and arugula. The tots that came with were on the right side of crispy....ask for more pretzel cheese. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Tap30, really wish I could leave a 4.5 star. We love Tap 30! We come here whenever we are in Petoskey because there is something on the menu for everyone. I love the interior with the exposed brick and wood walls. In the summer the open up the front windows for an open concept which is awesome. I am a big fan of their chef salad with steak. The steak is always cooked perfectly and the addition of pepperoni on the salad is a unique touch. Try it with their garlic balsamic dressing, it is to die for. They also have great burgers, sandwiches and appetizers. For the beer drinkers they have tons of options to choose from which are up on a board on the wall....depending on where you sit this can be hard to see. I dont drink beer but they make a great Paloma. If you're lucky, you'll get Breanna as your server, she is super sweet. read more

Sitting at the the front of the restaurant gave us the indoor ambiance with a view of downtown Pestosky and fresh air. Lexi was our server and she was kind and attentive. The drinks were great, but the brussel sprouts and cauliflower dish was incredible. The flavor combination is unique and the pita provides a perfect crunch. The tomato sauce has a nice zing, while the feta and lemon sauce is unique. The dish can be a meal, but is sharable as a starter. read more

We were passing through Petoskey on an out of the way route from Mackinac Island heading back toward Detroit and found a review from our next door neighbor at the top of the list. Small world! We're glad we stopped. There was only a 5 minute wait. While service was a little slow, the food was very enjoyable, the choices of beer on tap for my husband plentiful, and the hostess was great to talk to while we waited. I recommend the bbq brisket quesadilla. It is somewhat spicy, with a wonderful mixture of flavors dominated by bbq brisket and black bean as the two predominent flavors beautifullly complimented with a creamy jalapeno aioli drizzle. The breadsticks were also better than typical bar pretzels, and went nicely with its side of beer cheese. We don't usually frequent taprooms with communal seating as they tend to be quite loud. Due to a slightly limited capacity (do know that all seats and guests are not always 6 feet apart), I believe it was likely quieter than usual. My teenage daughters didn't like anything on the limited menu, so I wouldn't recommend bringing kids here because my girls can find something to eat virtually anywhere. Overall, it was a good meal with pretty good service in a fairly noisy atmosphere (loud music and conversations) in a very nice part of Petoskey. read more

A huge caution to anyone wanting to eat/drink at Tap 30 in Petoskey they do not tell you about that there's extra charges for your meal until your handed the check and there is a "Sustainability up charge". the response was that instead of raising prices this is what they do. WHAT!! I prefer to know what I'm paying up front. I did not pay the up charge nor will I ever go back. Cold overpriced Mac n cheese dinners. read more

Great place. Great service. We stopped in for a late lunch and it was great. I had a flatbread pizza. The crust was delish. My niece ordered the applesauce for her side it was very yummy she is a picky eater and ate it all up. It's clean and nice and airy with the big windows at the front of the restaurant. read more

We needed a quick place to stop and grab a bite and a beer and this place fit the bill. Covid restrictions were in effect so I'm sure that affected the dining experience and I can't say what this establishment is like when it's running at full steam. If you are a craft beer enthusiast you are going to love their selection and digital "real time" beer menus displayed on monitors on the wall with color coding for beer styles, IBU and ABV values, status of the currently tapped keg and so on. The food was good too and our server was spot on. We were just passing through but I would stop here again. The bottom line: Good bar food, good craft beer selection, great service. Located right downtown in Petoskey, so location is good! It's a smaller restaurant/bar, so it can get a little loud for those folks who prefer a more quiet ambience during dinner. This place is okay. We knew it would be more drinks than anything, but were still hoping for decent bar food. There's not a lot of variety on the menu (especially if you're picky- there's not any thing truly basic on the menu). The waitress also told me something wrong about the dish I ordered which totally changed the outcome of it once I got it so I didn't like it :/ but if you're just going for drinks and appetizers, it's a good spot! Second stop on our pub crawl- cool place, interesting decor and atmosphere. We were here around 2ish on a Saturday afternoon. There was barely anyone in the place, we got a table right away. They had a very extensive beer selection. I took a chance on venturing outside my normal IPA-only tastes and ordered the Grapefruit Ginger Sake... Very strange, fizzy, odd tasting. I was not a fan, but our server let me switch it for something else. Very cool. We didn't eat here, but I recommend for beers! read more

Food is pretty good and beverage was good. Only issue was with our server. She did ok for a period of time and then just seemed to give up on us by the end of the meal. We weren't done eating and drinking and dropped the bill off and bolted out the back door for about 10 min, which I can only assume was for a smoke of some sort. She never stopped back by the table. We had to go to the bar for to-go boxes and such. Another 5-10 min of her attention was all we needed. I think she just really needed a break I guess. read more
