I discovered a full-flat tire yesterday--with a broken piece of razor blade still stuck in the…read moretread. After trying fix-a-flat (I know, I know), I realized the damage was severe, so I called for a Tripple A service. Two things I've learned about those calls: You wait forever and the guy who comes always seems to have an attitude about it being 'just' a Tripple A call. Within about 15 minutes of my call, a truck from Bryant Auto Services pulled up and a young guy--"Tristin"--stepped out. I told him I was surprised how quickly he had arrived and indicated that I was still in the middle of something in the house. This kid carried himself with such grace and integrity. He told me he to go ahead and do what I needed to do--that he would take about 10 minutes to put the spare on, then would knock on the door when he was done. I felt 100% like this guy wanted to do what he could to make my day better. When Tristin finished, he came to the front door and I commented on his work ethic. When I told him, "I don't even have any cash to give you a tip, which I wish I could do," he replied, "I'm just doing my job." To see THAT kind of integrity, especially from a young guy, was absolutely impressive. I called his work to commend him to the owner, then called AAA to commend him to them. I told them "if I had had to pay for the service call, I would have if it meant having a guy like Tristin do the work." I will keep Bryant Auto Services in mind for future automotive needs specifically because of the service Tristin provided. Well done!

they got the job done and offer a 10% discount for AAA members which is great. However, the price…read morefor labor was a bit higher than normal. the location is in Pataskala which is far for me. the tow man worked his magic and assured me that his location was trustworthy, reliable, and better over the options i named. i stressed to the tow man how that was a far stretch and would have to go a little over 45 minutes to get to this location. he then notified me that i was covered for a tow back after my car got fixed either when paid for over phone or paid in cash at the drop off location which was a relief to hear. i invested in getting my own part to save as i intend to trade the car soon so i don't see the need in a brand new part. Because i got my own part the price dropped and i was just paying for the labor and tax which saved me about $165 but i guess they weren't too happy about that because afterward, i was told that they wouldn't tow my car back to me because i got my own part. How comical! Of course i wasn't advised about the small detail where i have to use their parts in order to get what was said would be provided to me and was inconvenienced again for their work hours are the same as mine where as places i named gave me a better chance to get to them before they closed. saying you'll do one thing then doing another later is never professional and it's never good customer service to not follow through with what is said to be done just because someone wants to save a dollar. if that's policy, fine. but nonetheless, when an employee says something will be done and fails to include all the "ifs" and "buts" why penalize the customer as if it's their fault? instead, try specifying the terms and conditions prior or face a bad reputation, negative feedback, and loss of future business. so for the high labor, their petty reason to not tow my car back to me, and when my car was finished they didn't bother to call me just my boyfriend and have him pass the message to me as if it's not my car...I rate 2 stars math of expenses new starter repair including labor and tax $355.95 used starter $45 used starter repair including labor, tax, 10% $142.10 total spent $187.10 UPDATE- after my boyfriend got the car back, I look over the invoice and don't see any type of discount! in the discount section it says 0.00% and shows no form of deduction in the summary. I call the next morning, and was just told to believe that it was taken off. the person then states that it wasn't a percentage deducted but a $10 deduction from the hourly labor! that's two different things that result in two different totals and even if that was the case, why doesn't it show that in writing on the invoice?! that's what invoices are for, to show proof of what was done! he then says I can come in and have them make a new estimate showing the discount but it will show that I paid more....I KNOW!!! BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T ADD THE DISCOUNT!!! I don't care if it's 10 cents, $10, or $100 no real business should ever make you feel cheated. twice in one service I was offered two things and got neither. the tow back and the discount were the key reasons for giving them a chance and they failed to be true to their word. this is just another unprofessional, money hungry establishment that can't pull their own weight and the reason why mechanics are so hard to trust. I see why they are ranked as a D- with the BBB

He said if it comes on again, to bring it back and he'd change my spark plugs. It should be mentioned, my husband put gas in my tank and didn't screw the cap on tight enough (the care was VERY empty before he put gas in it) and that is when the light came on. Also, I priced out several other service centers in and around Pataskala and Mike's was by far the best value for this service which is why I decided to go to him. He easily could have replaced the plugs and I would have happily paid him the money considering he was SO reasonable compared to other places, but he didn't. He took the conservative route and I appreciated that. SO far my car runs like a charm! ALSO, while I was there a police officer came in and asked Mike to check out his personal vehicle as well as 2 other customers who seemed, by their interactions, to have a long standing relationship with him. Those 3 people gave me additional reassurance that I was in the right place. In talking to Mike, I also learned he is a retired Columbus fire fighter (we discovered that we had mutual friends). All in all, this guy is TOP NOTCH!. His place is no frills. No waiting area. No secretary. No free coffee or water like some of the chains. BUT I would (and I will) pick this guy over all the rest!

I've now taken 4 vehicles there, and every time on EVERY VEHICLE, this shop has diagnosed and repaired or serviced all my vehicles to my high satisfaction. This is a 1-owner small business, and despite the fact that I'm nowhere near his location-- it's worth the miles to drive here. I've read Sam P's comments, and am certain his story is likely due to a hired employee at the time (no longer there) - you DO realize the difficulty to find and retain good qualified technicians, right? That said: I highly recommend RAC to you for your foreign or domestic vehicles. I'm about to take my 5th one there for needed service. Here's an unusual example, kinda off the regular path: My Ford Van was throwing an error alarm 2 shops were unable to correct. RAC and Richard had it for a cupl days and found of all things; a rusty lock switch in the rear of the rig was causing spurrious signals to be sent to the main processor. Switch fixed...alarm solved.
