Zoila is always accommodating and her new team Diana and Sebastian are extremely friendly and knowledgeable as well. I usually go by myself to get a wash, hair treatment, split ends hair cut and a blow dry with curls. I'm there not longer than 2 to 3 hours and that's including the treatment. If I only go for a blow dry and curls, I'm done and out the door in less than an hour. Last two times I took my fourteen year's old stepdaughter to get a hair cut, frizziness treatment and blow dry and now she only wants Zoila to do her hair (she used to hate getting her head/hair touch) now she won't go anywhere else. When I asked politely if they could honor the apprentice rate or offer a discount since the cancellation wasn't on my end, they declined "because we called you yesterday and she had a dental emergency". It was disappointing to be met with a lack of empathy, especially since this left me scrambling at short notice. This would have been my first visit to this business, and while I understand things happen, I wish the situation had been handled with a bit more flexibility and care.

She burned my underarms, and now I have to use an antibiotic to relieve the pain and burning. This had never happened to me before. When I tried to tell her that something was wrong and bothering me, her response was, "It'll go away in 5 minutes." I could clearly see my skin was getting irritated. She didn't even use baby powder, which is usually applied before waxing, and I believe the wax temperature was way too hot, which caused the burns. Terrible service, I will never go back. I'm writing this review so that people can be careful about where they go to get a wax.

Went in on a Thursday morning before I had a trip for that weekend. I wanted a quick buzz cut and a…read morebuzz shave (I didn't need clean shaven, because I could sort that out once I got to my destination; no sense in wasting time on a clean shaven lewk if I was going to have stubble growing in before I even go to my event in 2 days). The salon was (understandably) empty when I went in, because it's a freaking Thursday morning during business hours. The guy who was working had someone on his chair, and told me he'd be right with me. He realised I didn't have an appointment, but said that he had time before his next client came in, so he could take care of whatever I needed. Freaking sweet. I told him what I needed, and he double and triple checked with me before starting, to make sure I'm getting what I want. He was friendly and left me mostly to my silence when I wasn't talking all that much. I like that a lot. When I go get my hairs cut, I want the job done quickly, and for me to zone out for a bit. It's really nice having a guy who doesn't mind a bit of silence, and who can get the job done. I think I got into the chair, got my hair cut, got my shave, got cleaned off, and then paid my bill in like 30 minutes flat. Dude was lightning quick, which tells me that he knows what he's doing, and has been doing it a long time. I'd imagine that if you have a more complicated haircut, and are more of a chatty person, it might take a bit longer, but for me, it was excellent. I don't like to be in the barber's chair for very long, because I just need a quick all over my head buzz, and I want to be on my way. I think that because what I wanted was so basic and simple, I paid like $30 (give or take;I can't remember the exact amount because this was a few weeks back) for both. He even went through and buzzed down my hairy ears. Sorry for that detail. When you get old, hair starts showing up in random places, and leaves places where you want it to be. I wish I could remember my barber's name, because he is really good at what he does. I suggested that my partner go see him too, so we can support local talent (instead of going into NYC for a haircut). He also came home with a fly haircut, and paid like $30 or $35 for it. It was not a lot of money, he came home looking good, and the dude did his job well. If you don't have cash on you, the barber is OK to take Zelle or Apple Cash or cash app or whatever. Thank goodness, because I didn't have cash.
