I just dropped off a dress to be altered today. Her system is :phone hours are posted on her telephone tape machine You wear the correct undergarment and bring shoes so she can hem You change as she finishes a project sewing or ironing She shows where she will alter . You fill out a ticket which tells you price and when the garment is ready No reason for any calls. Tany's Alterations is the only place I will take my clothing to be tailored. Let's all be honest - it's almost impossible to buy something and have it fit to a T (especially dresses) and no one is perfectly proportionate for cookie cutter clothes sizes. Clothes that fit well always look better on - and Tanya is a woman who can make everything fit. She has hemmed many of my pants and altered many of my dresses - formal, cocktail, business. All have come out perfect and fit well, and you can't even tell they've been altered - which is the goal! Her prices are incredible compared to others in the area - and she has great turn around time. Tips: If you're getting something hemmed - don't forget to bring the shoes you will wear with that article of clothing and if you're able, I'd suggest trying to go on a weekday because lines can get long on Saturdays. read more

I can't speak to her service or quality of work as I couldn't even get a hold of her. PLEASE DISREGARD THE HOURS POSTED IN THE PICTURE BELOW. I tried to go and see her on a Monday but since the pic below was taken, she must have changed hours. A new sign read that she was closed on Mondays instead of Tuesdays. I am not holding this against her, I should have called to confirm. However, on Tuesday, when she was supposed to be open (as posted in her sign on the door), she was nowhere to be found. There was a number on the sign so I called and there was no answer. I tried once more and she/someone picked up and then hung up. After that I didn't try again. I love Tanya...she is an amazing tailor! She has hemmed more items for me (I'm petite and everything is too long) than I can count. Her prices are extremely reasonable, $8 for a pair of pants, and she is fast. She can accomodate almost any request quickly. She even made custom pillows for my entire living room! Tanya also charged me 10% of what the semastress down the street (Flavia) wanted to charge to do a multi-layered dress. I needed to get my new suit tailored quickly for an interview so I stopped in to see Tanya. She is AMAZING. I was worried because I only went off her one review here on Yelp, and my suit was brand new...but her work is seriously top notch. I'm petite, so even though my suit looked like it fit well enough, I needed it to fit me perfectly. And Tanya did this for me. She's quite, but certainly knows what she's doing. And she's quick! I asked if the suit could be ready in less than a week because I needed it for the interview...and she came through! The price was also VERY reasonable...I think I paid $16 for fitting my blazer and making my skirt into a pencil skirt. I agree, I agree! Tanya is the best I have found. I almost don't want to tell people about her because she is getting so busy, but she really is the best. She is quick, inexpensive, and does an expert job with everything I bring her. No more throwing things out because they don't fit, I just bring them to Tanya. It actually costs me less money to bring my alterations to Tanya, than it does to have those same clothes dry cleaned (which is mind boggling to me).
