From the very beginning, she has made me feel comfortable, respected, and truly heard. Amanda has been especially supportive in helping me navigate the many symptoms associated with post-menopause and hormone replacement therapy. She takes the time to listen carefully, discusses options thoughtfully, and never makes me feel rushed or dismissed. Her approach is both professional and compassionate, and it's clear she genuinely cares about her patients' well-being. Over the course of my care, she has helped me make adjustments that have significantly improved how I feel, both physically and emotionally. That kind of progress doesn't happen without a provider who is attentive, knowledgeable, and willing to partner with you in your care. I'm very grateful to have found Amanda and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a provider who is thorough, approachable, and truly invested in helping women feel their best.

Go home and try again in a few months." Wrong - one week later ended up in the hospital internally bleeding and requiring a STAT surgery! Did not catch my ectopic pregnancy, ended up in the ER despite her telling me everything was fine a week prior. She was the on call OBGYN at the ER and unlucky for me she could not save my tube and removed it completely!!! Lacks surgical experience. She should've had a higher index of suspicion due to cramping and bleeding I called complaining of multiple documented times. I even had 3 HCGs that plateaued so she should've known it was an ectopic!!! Highly recommending seeking an OBGYN with an MD license instead of her DO license no offense. If it's your baby you deserve the best. I suggest selecting an OBGYN who knows how to save tubes and has a fellowship as well. Kakar is very new in the field and that is not someone you want performing a surgery in case of complications. I would absolutely seek elsewhere.

Dr Kakar was my OB for the first 5 months of my pregnancy (I just relocated out of state)…read more This is not my first pregnancy, it's my third, so I am familiar with how things go, or rather how things should go. The main reason for the poor rating of this doctor is due to lack of organization and patient consideration, over all poor communication skills and inconvenience. Every time I would call the office, there was a mistake with communication; whether it be from receptionist to nurse or nurse to doctor, there was always a setback that would take many calls back and forth taking days to get it straight! With this pregnancy I have been extremely nauseous with vomiting, not to mention two toddlers at home to look after. It took over 6 days of back and forth with the team and doctor to get my prescription refilled. I would call the office numerous times a day and each time I would have to re explain what was going on because the proper notes were not taken. Now that I moved, I'm going through the same thing with them just to get my prescription. It's been almost a week and I am waiting (calling regularly) for them to get back to me regarding my insurance approval. I get "I'll look into that and call you right back" and do not receive a call back. I asked to speak directly with Dr Kakar and the woman said yes I will go and get her now and she will call you right back. That was A WEEK AGO. Still no call. Extremely unprofessional and poor work ethic. I was excited to receive civilian care after my prior military care but after Dr Kakar, I would gladly go back to my military medical care in a heartbeat! At my last and final prenatal appt with Dr Kakar I came in for a suspected UTI. The nurse that took me back to check vitals and whatnot (a nurse that has seen me monthly) didn't even know I was pregnant...? With all of my pregnancies this was by far the most unorganized stressful experience and honestly just a plain hassle. I would NOT recommend Dr Kakar at all for an OBGYN if you want a pleasant, happy prenatal experience. I now know the importance of doing my homework before selecting an OB and am excited to have a new one after relocating.

On our first appointment she mostly explained to me how things works and she helped me prepare to my appointment with California IVF center by ordering all my blood testing and all needed in advance. This is how we didn't spend time. I completed all the testing before I even met with California IVF Dr. And still, she called to explain me what each thing mean and she was there for me. For the first time in my life I felt like there is a doctor who can really see me and care about me,I'm not just a number. Almost a year later we got pregnant and I was extremely excited to go back to Dr. Slack! Seeing her huge smile in our first ultrasound made me feel like I'm safe! She's the kindest person and doctor I've met in my life! She is open to hear a second opinion from other doctors and she was supportive of our journey. After a really bad experience with the prenatal clinic in Sutter Sacramento she found out about it and called me from her vacation to support me and to make sure I'm ok (Never ever happened to me before). She promised to build a plan with us when she's back and she kept her word. We were referred to UCSF for more testing and diagnostic and she was there by our side during this really hard time. We we're scared and she knew it so she asked to see us more often than usual. This is how we changes to every 2 week visit. After we "graduated " from UCSF we scheduled our C section with our favorite doctor at all times! We are thrilled and excited for Dr. Slack to bring our boy to this world! We feel very lucky to know her! Thank you Dr.Slack and a bigger thank you to her staff who did above and beyond for us. I must write that I didn't know you can leave a review to your doctor and based on the reviews here I can tell that people usually leaves reviews only when they have bad experience.
