Our recent experience with Tansky's service department, especially with Kirby, has convinced us to stop using Tansky as our primary shop, despite being long-time customers. Two weeks ago, a possibly mold-related smell appeared in our 2015 Toyota Corolla with no warning. It was strongest when idle or entering the car and came from the A/C vents. It caused minor headaches and allergy-like symptoms, so we were concerned about health risks. We replaced cabin and engine air filters, checked for water spills, and cleaned the interior, but the smell persisted. At Tansky, Kirby advised a 'diagnosis and advise' service ($175.87), saying the cost would go toward future repairs if needed. Diagnostics weren't completed until the next morning, conflicting with a planned road trip, but we proceeded anyway. When we returned, Kirby explained very little and focused on upselling. He said the cause was undetermined, suggested HVAC Refresh/Internal Detailing might help, then pushed a $6,000+ front timing cover seal repair, unrelated to the issue. We had to leave the problem unresolved due to our trip. Kirby seemed surprised we only wanted to pay the diagnostic fee but said future service would be credited. We planned to revisit after the trip. Reviewing the invoice, the mechanic found no water intrusions but noticed stronger smells behind the glovebox after I had missed a step replacing the cabin filter. No root cause was identified. Kirby had not shared this, focusing instead on the timing seal, giving the impression he didn't understand the issue. The next Wednesday, we scheduled the recommended HVAC Refresh ($260.87). A different advisor was surprised the prior diagnostic was charged and not part of a multi-point inspection, then referred us to Kirby when we mentioned the diagnostic cost being credited towards the refresh. Kirby said the $175.87 diagnostic would not apply because it wasn't a "repair," despite previously promising it would credit toward fixing the original problem. He said diagnostic fees only counted toward a "bigger repair," despite not being able to reference anything specific. He also questioned why we hadn't done service at the earlier visit, forgetting our previous conversation, and then even tried to upsell an interior detailing service. We asked if the HVAC Refresh would resolve the smell/vapor issue. Kirby said full resolution might require extensive disassembly and deep cleaning down to bare metal costing thousands of dollars, even though no mold was confirmed, and long-term improvement wasn't guaranteed. We canceled the appointment. Kirby backtracked on promised diagnostic fee waivers, and we had no confidence they knew the appropriate repair. The issue was not thoroughly diagnosed, and we were repeatedly misled about costs and next steps. Kirby appeared forgetful and focused on unrelated add-ons. We remain concerned the smell could come from internal components like the fuel system or engine, or HVAC issues like a blocked A/C drain, none of which were investigated. The diagnostic confirmed only what we had already reported, yet we were charged for a time-intensive service, essentially they wanted us to paying twice+ for the same reported problem. We chose service at a Toyota dealership for peace of mind, but Tansky failed to identify or fix the issue, repeatedly tried to upsell (including a ~$6k repair), and only coincidentally noticed the glovebox smell. Their high labor fee didn't reflect actual work, leaving us to question the thoroughness of their checks. Overall, Tansky seemed focused on upselling rather than genuinely addressing the problem. Kirby did not inspire confidence, and we no longer feel comfortable bringing our car there. At this point, a $40 DIY A/C cleaning kit and a new service provider seem like the most practical solution. We have used this service department several times since moving to the area. At least 50% of the time we have had a negative experience. The most recent experience we took our car in to get a standard oil change and check up we left and noticed the next day the car making a funny noise. We immediately scheduled to have it taken back the following day. The car became undrivable due to sound and vibrations coming from underneath the car upon taking it back to the service department. We were notified that the technician that worked on our car did not put the lug nuts back on one of the tires, so the tire was bouncing around and barely hanging onto the vehicle, which could have caused severe damage to the car and more myself and my family. The service person said they were sorry and sent us on our way and that's it. Other times we go there are extremely long wait times no matter the day of the week I have gone in during the week and on the weekend and every time I go in, they say this is their busy day. When you first pull in, you have to wait in the service tunnel line anywhere from 20 minutes up to 45 minutes before you even get helped inside to plan your visit. You then pick up your vehicle from the parts desk who is less than interested in telling you about your cars visit or anything that may need done or was done to your vehicle. I recommend finding another service department that takes better care of your vehicle and is more Customer Service oriented. I have never dealt with their sales department, so maybe that is better than the service. read more

Very nice personnel. Did not talk down and were not pushy as I was not in a big hurry. When we finally started discussing cost and financing they were very straight forward and relaxed which helped me be less anxious about an experience I had never attempted before. The only drawback for me personally was my lack of technology-the what, how and why. This was the worst dealership experience we have ever had and we grew up in a family who works in the car industry. We were misled at every step of the process. The dealership kept giving us different prices for services and labor, which was incredibly frustrating. Labor alone, with no services completed, was charged at $180, despite us being initially told the price would be $160. We understand charging for labor, but this is ridiculous and not honest. In the end, we decided to decline all services and take our business elsewhere. We were told that the wheel on our car needed to be replaced because it was "bent." However, we had previously been told that was not the case. The invoice we received from them only noted that the rim was "a different rim than the rest of the wheels" and recommended we get a new one, without mentioning any bending at all. After dropping off the car the day before to be looked at, they said they would call us back in the morning to tell us additional information about three car. However, they never reached out to us, we had to contact them again to get any additional info. To make matters worse, when we went to pick up our car, after deciding to seek service elsewhere, were told it was "in the shop disassembled" and they "didn't have the paperwork ready." After nearly an hour later waiting in the lobby, we were told we could pick it up outside. When we arrived, our car was covered in snow from the night before (it hadn't snowed during the day), which raised serious doubts about their story. How could the car have been in the shop if it was sitting outside, covered in snow? This entire experience has been a complete lack of professionalism, honesty, and customer courtesy, and we will not be returning to this dealership. read more

I came in for an oil change last week and this man called Kirby was my advisor. His behavior is utterly disgusting, I got to overhear the way he talks to the people in the service garage, and he treats everyone as if they're less than him, super rude and just zero respect!!! Nobody deserves to get treated like that customer or not! In my car coolant was empty in container , after a long drive . So I thought there might be leakage of coolant . I took an appointment at Tansky Toyota , Dublin , Ohio . After inspection they told me radiator was leaking , needed to replace and reseal coolant valley also to be done . Total coast they told me 3065 dollars plus tax , and the things will be fixed next day , as they were not having required material in service center . But I was in hurry because I had to join my duties next day in distant state . So I got coolant tank filled and took extra coolant if needed . After coming back to my home I got my car inspected by a very reliable service center in my city . After inspection they informed me , that there is nothing wrong with my car . So Tansky Toyota service center people taught me a good lesson , that in future whenever I go to Ohio ( I go there quite often ) , I will NEVER visit this center in future for car service . I also will inform as many people in Ohio , never to visit this center. I also noticed one thing ,when I was waiting there , very few people were coming for car service. If someone wants to prosper his business , than one should always be truthful . This helps a lot on longterm. I'm currently driving a rental as my car was rear ended and totaled. I connected with Tansky staff as their website reported that they had the vehicle I wanted in stock. I put down a $500 deposit and was told that actually the vehicle is "on the way." I was given an estimate of ten days, but assumed it would be less as you can literally drive across the country in a few days. It has now been over that, and the sales rep seems to have no actual idea when the vehicle is coming in. We are here to drop off the new car for some protection stuff. The waiting area is very full with comfy wipeable chairs properly spaced. While I was waiting I checked out their coffee station and found it to be well stocked and hot tea options as well. The showroom music is the perfect volume and non offensive. As I walked into the showroom to wait there was no rush by sales to offer me a deal despite it being the end of the month. I like that. Desperation is never attractive , as real as it may be. New rules in tansky service. You have to sit in your car till someone comes to your door and help you hand off the car. Keep the blinker on. Sometimes they help people in random order. they don't tell you want to do. There is a guy to make the cars move, there is a guy to make the cars turn the blinker light on but nobody will tell what the process is, we have to educate ourselves I guess as we get through this charade. read more

Took our truck to a mechanic out of town who diagnosed a rear axle seal leak but could not do the work to fix. Mechanic informed us we should not drive much as it is dangerous. We took it to Tansky Toyota to get the leak addressed. I assumed the Toyota dealership would provide quality diagnosis and service - WRONG! Tanksy looked the vehicle over and insisted there was no axle leak and despite our request to take the brake drum off to verify, they refused, instead they said they didn't have to because 'they could just tell'. I ended up taking the vehicle to a THIRD shop and what do you know? They found the axle seal leak and fixed it. SMH. Do better Tansky! read more

Took car in for regular oil change/filter. Guy at service counter told me it would be 89.99, then had me sign the estimate sheet which was pre-printed with 79.99. Then they pulled their shenanigans and wanted me to get a throttle cleanse (not needed), tire rotation (just had new tires put on), and new wiper blades (NOPE, can do that myself and they were going to charge $80). So, no extra services so he says, ok your total is going to be 89.99. I said NOPE, the sheet I signed clearly stated 79.99. He said no it didn't. Because you know, I'm a stupid female with grey hair and I cannot read. No, honey boy, it said 79.99 and that is what I'm paying. I went to cashier and she acted like she was doing me a big favor by giving me a discount to 79.99. Since that appointment, I've had a flat tire (one day after), a tire losing pressure constantly, and two of my tires were inflated to 40, which is too high. Coincidence? I just bought a Toyota at a Ford dealership yesterday, because no one at Tansky would even talk to me. For some context, I bought a Toyota Tacoma from Tanksy in January of 2019 and had a great experience. I haven't been able to track down my salesman from that time, but he was wonderful. That truck was recently totaled in an accident, so I am replacing it with someone used but new to me. I wanted to continue to work with Tansky, because I'd had such a great experience and also believe so much in the power of doing local business. I sent a note through the form on the site for a 2019 Tacoma I liked on Saturday morning, and a Sales Rep called me within a few minutes. Great! We arranged for me to come out in about 45 minutes. This Sales Rep had other clients sitting at her desk, but balanced us well, making me feel seen and cared for, and doing the same with the couple sitting at her desk. She had me take the car for a test drive. I fell in love with this car on the drive. When I came back in from my test drive, the Sales Manager waved me over. She said she would help me while the Sales Rep finished up with the couple. She had me stand at the counter and I asked for the Car Fax, and the financial details. I explained that I am ready to buy a car within the next few days, and I wanted to see the bottom line price with two different down payment amounts and the exact interest rate. Sales Manager never asked me to sit down and discuss the offer. She never treated me like she was serious about me as a customer. I spent about five minutes standing at the counter speaking with her. She gave me a print out of the price of the car with taxes and fees in a general sense, but nothing specific to my credit score, address, etc. even after I asked for it. I asked if the finance person was in and she said she didn't want to bother him and she could do it, but she never gave me any info I asked for. When I asked questions about the details of the price she told me she was "only making $400 on this" more than once, and that the price wouldn't change. I never asked about the price changing, only let her know that this is a significant purchase for me (isn't $35,000+ significant for all of us?) and wanted details. I asked about paying cash vs. financing and she said the dealership gets "kickbacks" from the bank, so that wouldn't affect the price and she would prefer I finance. I realize that the haggling days of car purchasing are over, and that's not what I was doing, but I need to understand the financial decision I am about to make. It is her job to help me understand it and feel comfortable with it. I went home, slept on it, and decided to buy this truck Sunday morning. I put the money in my checking account, and called the Sales Rep and told her I want to buy it, make sure it's still available, and let her know I'd be there in an hour. I also asked again if the finance person would be there because I wanted to talk this offer through. It was Sunday, and I asked if we could do business today because I want to buy this car. She said yes. About 20 minutes later, I get a call from the Sales Rep saying her manager said not to "waste my time" because the price is the price and suggested I not even come in. I thanked her and turned around. It's fine that the truck costs what it costs, but to be so quickly dismissed? You won't even sit down with me to talk about it? Help me understand the details of this purchase? I am very disappointed in not being taken seriously. I am a 35 year old professional woman who simply wanted to sit down and hear from the finance person what the best options are to pay for this vehicle. I have been in sales and customer service for over 15 years. This is not how you do business. The Sales Manager was rude, dismissive, and, frankly, I think she lied to me by suggesting that she will only make $400 on this car. I let her know I was a returning customer, and that means a lot to me. I feel like she took me for someone very young and very poor - I am not either of those things, but she should treat everyone kindly regardless - and she felt like I was a waste of her time and made it obvious. I thought perhaps dealing with women would eliminate a lot of the sexism and patronizing that so many of us feel in the car buying process, so her actions are particularly hurtful. This will end my loyalty to Tansky. I just bought the same truck for a few hundred dollars MORE from a Ford dealership in Dayton and had a great experience. I also emailed Johanna Williams in response to a prompted email about my experience with the dealership and never heard back. That was Sunday. This is Wednesday. Never shop here. Big mistake. I have a prius hybrid that I used to have serviced at another facility. Unfortunately, they didn't service hybrids and then I soon realized that apparently most places don't. Since my car is a Toyota, I decided to take it there to get serviced and I'm so glad I did. On one hand it's a bit more expensive, but they make up for it in customer service and reliability. As a girl, I always feel awkward and uncomfortable getting work done on my car, but I've never had that experience with this center. In addition to good customer service, they also can drive you to and from your next location while your car or getting worked on. The driver is a delightful person. I WFH and don't drive my car much. But I'm going on a long trip this summer with my daughter and wanted to make sure my car was in top shape. I prefer to fix things before they become a serious problem, not wait until they break. Anyway, I made an appointment and had a specific list of things for them to check out. I want to love this place. I really do. I moved to Columbus from another city where I originally bought my vehicle but have been here twice now for service (just routine oil changes). The website and scheduling process is great and the employees have also always been pleasant to deal with. My only issue is time. An hour and a half wait for a routine oil change is simply more time than I care to invest. I don't like this as my other option is the instant oil change places. I would much rather come here but the wait time for what should be a 15-20 minute service is just too high. Review update. The summary of my experience ended up being much worse than the initial review. After almost two hours my truck was returned to me and they had actually taken air out of my tires to the point the low tire pressure warning light on my dash was lit up. Yep got my vehicle back with a warning light that they actually caused. They also pretty much rubber all of the white off or the letters on one of my tires most likely by running into the side rails going through the car wash. Also nice big greasy footprint on the door sill where someone actually put their entire foot there and stood. Real reason for the one star is that the next day I sent an email to the dealership letting them know of the problems I had with the visit. I still have not received any response to my email but they did pass along my contact info to the sales department who called and tried to sell me a new car. Conclusion is that based upon the poor quality of a routine oil change service along with zero follow up to my complaint leads me to have a lack of confidence in a commitment to either quality or customer satisfaction. I will most likely never return to this dealership for service or to look for a new car. Update. Yes I forgot to hIt post but this happened 2 years ago and after this situation got worse. Tansky had my truck for 2 months for a warranty repair during which I was given a RAV 4 as a loner. Not close to my tacoma Trd pro, which I loved and got no response when I asked to be provided something closer to my vehicle to dRive since they had my truck for so long. When Toyota finally managed to get my truck fixed it was returned to me with no offer to extend coverage or stand behind a vehicle that it took 2 months to diagnose and fix a problem. I picked up the truck and immediately drove it to a Jeep dealer and traded it on a Jeep. The Toyota was almost out of warranty and based on my experience with tansKy and Toyota I did not wish to be stuck with a lemon. Through whole experience tansky was unresponsive and uncaring. Particularly upsetting given that the truck was basicAlly a dream vehicle I had ordered and waited months on. I won't buy another toyota nor do business with this dealer. read more

My key stopped working on a 2008 Toyota RAV4... it wouldn't even manually unlock the door so, I was freaking out... my husband got me inside the car... so I went to Batteries Plus (with my windows rolled down haha). Batteries Plus couldn't get the key to work with a new battery... so, I went to Toyota--prepared to take a taxi home because it was late in the day & it's like $600 to get a new panel for the key to work again... so, the cute kid checks me in & they start wrapping my car in plastic... then, the Service Advisor--I'll call him Mr. GQ--he chases down the old guy driving off in my car--he has him get out & he clicks my key with his magic hands! The key started working again! I don't know how & I don't know why but, I am so grateful & it is very obvious to all that God spent a little more time on Mr. GQ... I also bought a new Highlander here and needed special care with the title and everything worked out great! Best engines ever!!! read more

I bought my 2015 Toyota Camry Se here about 3years ago. I recently purchased a car from a different dealer (had to) and have now learned to appreciate Tansky. Tansky isn't commission based so the saleman did not pressure me at all. They gave a good deal, a great warranty (still active), and even threw in freebies I took for granted at the time. I got a cargo tray, touch up paint, carpet mats, and a spare fob plus valet key. I plan to return for my next car whenever that is. This was my first experience with Tansky Service. I had a noticeable grinding sound while on this side of town. I called and they got me in right away. I frequent a different service me most of the time but I'll be using Tansky in the future. I got in, dropped off the car, and got a complete and clear update about three hours later. I've worked with many service centers. Generally I get the 'dumbed down' version of what is wrong and I have to ask many questions to get to the root of the issue. You are gonna want to read this... I know the market is hard to find cars right now but go somewhere else. You deserve better. Throughout the process, I never had any clear communication from my sales rep. I ordered my truck over the phone. I was told it would arrive on XX date... At the last second before I placed my hold, I asked and again and was told "well that's the build date". I should of stopped there. We agreed on a 50% off tonneau cover and it was added to the final quote. Months went by with changing dates. I understood. It's mayhem now. I informed him multiple times leading up to the pickup of my vehicle that I would be moving to South Carolina on Sept 19th and would postpone my move if the vehicle was coming in. Multiple. Times. I received zero communication until the very day the truck came in (could of at least told me it was on the truck on the way). I received a call asking when I could come in to which i reminded him that i was already in South Carolina. Clearly didn't listen or care. My dad had to pick the vehicle up for me instead and my truck is sitting in Ohio. This is just the start. I asked three times if I needed a power of attorney to have the title in my name. I kept being told that no.. I only need my dad to have the check and his license and insurance. Sure enough... the title for the truck had to be placed under his name on his insurance. My rep told him "we decided not to do that". What??? So now my dad owns my truck. When asked about the tonneau cover, my rep "didn't seem to remember" that agreement. (I have it on the physical quote). I didn't get the cover and now will have to go pay full price for one somewhere else. Wild. Here's the kicker... On top of all of this, my dad left the dealership WITHOUT PAYING FOR THE TRUCK. They took the receipt and sent him home with the check in hand... meaning we had ownership of the truck with zero payment exchanged. We had to call the dealership to let them know they sold us a truck for FREE. Made an appointment to look at a very low mileage used car on their lot. Before going looked at the car fax. No reported accidents. "Reported" is the operable word. I asked the sales person to tell me about the car. They knew nothing. Printed off the car fax and handed it to me. That's it. I had already looked at the car fax online. Now I had a handful of papers to throw away. Went out to look at the car. Asked the sales person about the safety features. They knew nothing. Pointed to a paper taped in the window with a list of features but said it may not be accurate. I ask if they inspected the car for defects when they took it in and they said they did. I walked around the car and noticed several long and deep scratches on the passenger door that had been sloppily filled in with touch up paint. Looked and felt like some one had dragged a hard garden rake down the side of the door. I've got to believe that whatever caused those scratches was likely an accident. No one would purposely scratch up their car door. But they didn't take it to a shop for repairs so it didn't show up on the car fax. Either the dealer inspection when they took it in was very poorly done or the dealer is trying to hide the damage by not disclosing it and hoping a buyer won't catch it. I believe the sales person didn't know about the damage though. Because their knowledge seemed to be limited to the fact that it was a car. Poor experience. Wasted my time. Do your own research before you show up. Dont expect the sales person to know anything. And look very closely at the car. Expect no reconditioning and expect no disclosures. Upon closer inspection after the sale a bungload of hail damage was revealed. Josh the manager and Justin treated me like they would want to be treated. They are not looking out for you. Do not trust this location or your money with this location. My car wasn't starting. I brought it in and the service coordinator at this location told me he thought the car was draining the battery power (because it's newer). At the end of the day, they recharged my battery (which they marked as average health) and sent me on my way; when I asked them how to avoid this in the future, they said "get a trickle charger" to charge my battery when I leave the car alone for a few days. I don't have a garage to plug a trickle charger into. One month later, my car wasn't starting again. I brought it into Toyota direct and the service coordinator there told me I needed a new battery very directly. When I asked him if it was covered under my warranty (my car is pre-owned certified) he told me it would have been if it was under 40K miles. The first time I brought it into Toyota Sawmill, it was under 40K miles. Toyota Sawmill purposefully omitted rightfully diagnosing my non-functional battery that came with the car when I bought it. I'm extremely frustrated and feel cheated out of 200 dollars because they didn't choose to do the right thing. Do not trust this location with your vehicle. read more

Took our brand new RAV4 in with 3,000 miles in because it was showing multiple alerts and the gears were shifting roughly on the highway. When we dropped it off, they stated it would "be awhile" before it was done. They called back 30 mins later and said it was ready to pick up and was fixed. 2 days later, the same issue happened again. They did not fix the issue, simply cleared the codes. Now less than a week later we're taking time out of the middle of the day again to drive 20 mins there and 20 mins back because they couldn't fix the issue correctly the first time. I'd like to speak to the manager who's responsible for this type of BS business. IS THIS HOW A COMPANY IS SUPPOSED TO BE RAN???? read more
