It took a while to find it, as it's located under a street that's also a bridge, so we had to circle around a few times. We got there, ordered a beer and a cocktail, and were told it was cash only. Oh, no! I didn't have any cash, and my boyfriend only had $10 on him. We also found out their ATM was broken. We both heard that our drinks came out to $25, so my boyfriend hands the bartender his $10 as a "deposit" while we go try to find cash. She then proceeds to give him change! We were stunned. Our total was actually $8.25. Wow. We got to have our drinks. We were pleased and amused. We thought $25 was a bit pricey, but didn't question it too much, since that's likely what we would pay at a similar tavern in California, where we live. The drinks were okay. Prices are good. The ambiance was what you would expect for a tavern. I would definitely return.

When Karaoke guy arrived, my niece said she didn't like him because he always skips over her and her friend so that he, his girlfriend, and other friends can sing. My cousin put his name down sixth on the night's list to sing Sweet Caroline. After obviously being passed over by numerous singers, he went up to look at the list to see his name was scribbled out. AVOID this place on Friday nights unless you're into hearing the same 5 or 6 people sing all night.

The food is absolutely amazing - best Mexican food I've ever had. Very fresh and flavorful with generous portions. In Marshalltown for business and I ate there 3 (!) times it was that good. The tropical salmon crunch bowl is full of fresh vegetables, perfectly grilled salmon and a crunchy slightly fruity sauce. Jody's shrimp tacos were packed with juicy shrimp and pineapple. Everything was sizzling hot and really fresh and flavorful. Highly recommend!
