She told me the total and I asked her how much each item was and told her I was being overcharged. She cleared the register and rescanned it again, yes exactly $10.99 cents less. She tried to scam me. She said the scanner was sensitive, nope you typed that in. I've been coming here since they opened, I wonder how many times they have scammed me without noticing. Plus there prices are unbelievably high. Probably $1-2 higher than other liquor store, only thing is the have a drive thru.

Here's what I found here and took home: St. Bernadus #12, Rochefort 8, and Bosteels Tripel Karmeliet. These beers are meant to be sipped and I'll be back from more.

It's reputation has carried all the way over to us...50ish miles away. Easy to find with decent parking. The staff greeted me as I walked in. Bottles as far as you can see with some shelves that run almost to the very high ceilings... I ended up walking out with a Starlight Cigar Blend store pick and a bottle of Ezra Brooks Bourbon Cream. I'd given up on finding the bourbon cream. I'd found Buffalo Trace and other brands but not the Ezra Brooks. As I was grabbing the Starlight one of the gentleman walked up... Is this it? Yes. Yes it is... Thank you! If I understood correctly... They use a reward/points system to qualify to buy the more allocated products. Friendly service and tons of choices! Marshall BWS will be a must stop for me it I'm in Marshalltown! In fact it might even warrant a special trip that way every now and then...!

Well-provisoned with beer, wine, and spirits of all types, regionalities, and price points you are sure to find something to suit your palette and/or occasion. My husband drives from Ames to get a specific brand of whiskey when he's craving it since nowhere in Ames carries it lol. The store is kept clean and free of any trip or spill hazards. The outside is well kept also. There isn't any garbage or cigarette butts spread around. The staff is always really helpful and pleasant to talk with. They've even offered to order something that they don't usually carry. Any time we call, they're kind and helpful on the phone and have offered to hold the specific bottle we were asking about until we arrived from Ames.

I ventured in on a Sunday after picking up a birthday present for my gf. That's where I met the Jims! I was greeted right away when I walked in...and talk about customer service! These gentlemen knew their stuff and were really fun to talk to! After a while I think I walked out of the store with five bottles. One a bottle I thought I've have to order online. Kentucky Coffee...an inexpensive bottle, but one that combines two of my favorite things. Bourbon and coffee! While my interest is mostly in bourbon and whiskey the store has a great selection of beer, wine, and other spirits. If I had to pick one thing that sets this store apart from every other liquor store... It's attention and customer service. And it wasn't just me. They treated everyone who walked in the same way. It was a nice change over other stores where the staff can't be bothered to look away from their phones or the conversation with their buddies. Before I left I had a chance to meet the shop owner's son. A really nice guy! I didn't catch his name... But if he's any reflection of his father I'd say meeting him when the time comes will be a pleasure. And Liquor Lovers supports their customers who serve...or who have served...with a 5% discount. There is a large walk in cooler and everything is well stocked. I found the prices to be similar to other retailers in the area. The staff is friendly and the store was clean. It was pretty busy too. They have been around for a few years.
