The playground it self is amazing... that would receive 5 stars. I travel a ton in the US- I have…read morekids ages 6 to 25, so I have been to a lot of parks and this has to rank on the top!!!! But- parking... Brentwood Parks And Recreation needs to align with the city to help with signage for parking. The lot is not large enough (maybe 60 spaces not positive) to have two directions. Even with it being clear to many that the natural flow was counterclockwise, a few felt the need to go against the natural flow. Then the streets around the park were full causing the streets capable of only allowing for a single lane of traffic. Even with a clear flow and literally no room for cars traveling in opposite directions... some attempted to push in, causing longer stand stills. It's like trying to go to the zoo/forest park on the weekends. But the park itself is fun!!! I do wish there was more shaded areas within the park itself. Parking needs to be fixed... there is no way an emergency vehicle could have gotten in to help if help was needed. That is a big concern.

It was busy and parking was tight. There are so much things for kids to do here. Rock climbing, swings, Little zip line, splash pad etc. I can tell my kids and Chloe would love to go here a lot in the near future.

Also, it's very open and I can see all parts of the park so even thought it's not fenced, it just feels safe. The kids love that part of it is a tree that you climb inside. Bathrooms are close so great for potty training toddlers who have to go RIGHT NOW. There are 4 picnic tables in the pavilion, 2 drinking fountains and some sunshades with benches. We had our kids' birthday party there and it went extremely well. Super affordable to rent! The only downside is one parking lot is a flat trek to the playground but a longer one and the other parking lot is fairly close but you have to walk down a big hill and so then also back up. So anyone who is more limited with ambulation or someone who fatigues very quickly may not find this playground particularly accessible. Otherwise it is a super fun and simple playground!

We were the only ones on the playground the entire time-about an hour. Meanwhile we were able to meet a bunch of nice dogs going on long walks. Oak Tree Park pavilion is available to rent through the Brentwood Park system. It's pretty cheap ($60 for non-residents, $40 for residents). There are four picnic benches under the shelter, where the bathrooms are also located.

However, despite being in the heart of…read moreChesterfield (close to the interstate, the amphitheater and library), it was very quiet and hardly anyone was there. We came to see the Sculpture "The Awakening" which is a massive sculpture of a giant who is struggling to get out of the ground. It's not a single sculpture but five separate sculptures that make up "The Awakening". Great park to visit - not only for the sculpture but for some peace and quiet.

When we first got here, we noticed the park is in a pretty secluded area, and not many people were around unless they were going to the library that is connected to the parking lot. There are so many different parts of this park, including "The Awakening" sculpture, an amphitheater, a walking trail with a waterfront, and a Veterans memorial. The park was very clean, and we loved everything we experienced. The sculpture was so cool and is basically a steel man broken up into different separated body parts, who looks like he is trying to free himself from the ground. It's unbelievable how big this is in person, and we loved it. The Veterans Memorial was gorgeous and included significant quotes, a fountain, and American flags with every branch of the military included. The waterfront and trails were gorgeous, and we saw many HUGE ducks, cardinals, and wildlife. We loved the isolated walking trail because it had such beautiful views. Homes are being built around there, too, and the water would be such a gorgeous view to have every day from a home window. We weren't able to go to the amphitheater because they were getting ready for a summer night free concert event, but when we left, many people were gathering to go to the event. You can bring your own beer as long as it's in a can, so that's awesome and unlike many other public areas! Overall, if I lived in St. Louis, I could see myself regularly coming to this park and the surrounding area often. It's definitely a tranquil place where you can be one with nature and enjoy the views and entertainment.
