I walked in once at lunch time and the line was out the door, so I learned my lesson and called ahead. Person on the phone didn't tell me how long or gave me a number, however, i figured 10-15 minutes would be reasonable. Partner picked it up and said it was fairly busy. I ordered the Virginian sandwich - grilled turkey, coleslaw, swiss, and thousand island dressing on rye, partner ordered an italian cold cut. Both sandwiches were about $20 total, which is a decent price for lunch nowadays! my sandwich was a solid 8/10, I would say my partner felt the same about his. It's a simple, well-made sandwich. Nothing more, nothing less. I would rate them a 4.5 if i could, simply because these sandwiches were nothing to write home about. But, nonetheless, we both got what we wanted, and for the price, portion, and convenience, I would simply feel prissy giving them anything less than a 5. read more

Breakfast at the Grill and the coffee wasn't ready, the only bagel they has was plain, with plain cream cheese, no grits or oatmeal. Just wasn't a match. They had a crew of regulars stop by and they were happy. Must've been pancake or omelet eaters who don't need coffee. Place is open for breakfast and lunch. And it is an easy stop if your doing the NCR trail. They did brew a pot of coffee for me and were very nice. read more

I honestly should have went to subways. The prices where higher then what I saw in the picture. I ordered a simple ham and cheese lettuce and tomato mayo, salt, pepper, oil and vinigar. Had to come back cause they forgot the lettuce and tomato. Pretty sure they forgot the oil and vinigar. Also no kind of interaction. Just a look of annoyance. I have ordered their Corned Beef Sandwich on rye bread with yellow mustard several times before and it was really good. Today, however, was a different case. I was chewing and noticed that my teeth were crunching on something. Open the sandwich and see that every piece of corned beef had fat and gristle. Taneytown Deli has a variety of breakfast and lunch items. The service was fast and the food was very tasty. They have about 4 tables inside and a table outside for those who prefer dine-in. Most people order food to-go. The lunch is good value for the price, between $7-$11, which is a bargain for post COVID. I recently ordered a fish sandwich and a Rueben. We were looking for someplace different to have breakfast and decided to stop here. We should have known better as the place was empty at breakfast time. We went in anyway. This is not a fancy place. You order at the counter and then come back to get your food when it is ready. The cashier was not very welcoming or friendly. I asked for the printed receipt and noticed that she charged us $1.25 for water. We had requested a glass of tap water. She gave us our money back. The food comes on plastic plates with plastic silverware. The food was really good. My husband ordered the hot cakes with bacon. He got 2 hot cakes and 5 slices of bacon. I ordered the 2 eggs, with scrapple, home fries and wheat toast. When I asked for syrup, I was told that only my husband got syrup for his hot cakes. I said I wanted the syrup for my scrapple and was told that I would have to pay extra for it. Really.....that was the biggest turn off! I used some of my husband's syrup. It is shame that the food was really good, but the attitude of the staff was really less than customer-oriented. We will not return. read more

The young man that answers the phone to take lunch orders is the rudest person that I have ever talked to. When taking my order over the phone he was also trying to take orders in front of him. In the nineties my company got lunch from the Catonsville location every Wednesday, best soup and sandwiches hands-down. Ordered the Al Capone sub. It was served on what is a "club roll" not a sub roll. The result is that what looks like an over stuffed sub, is a small portion in a small roll. They have amazing breakfast and they deliver pretty quickly! Plus their breakfast Sandwiches are so affordable I always get one because it will cost me no more than 4$ usually. They are one of the only spots open so early in the mornings also so if your an early bird at work this is the place to stop at. read more
