They carry Kaffe Fasset, lots of batiks, lots of flannels, kits, notions, etc. They have roller carts for people who have too many bolts to carry (don't set your stuff on a counter without talking to an employee, or your stuff will apparently get put away - totally makes sense, but it did happen to a gal while I was there). The Quilt Barn is also a longarm machine dealer/rep, but I don't recall the brand. Staff are super friendly!!! Oh - due to COVID-19, they're limiting the #of people in the store, so there was a line, outside. We waited approximately 30 minutes to enter, but I absolutely appreciate the safety precautions they're taking! However one person who might have been management was very short and demeaning to the clerks who worked there, I saw her react angrily/ demeaning and ugly at least 3 different times while I was there within less than an hour. While significantly understaffed your security guard was able to measure my son's dress shirt size with ease and confidence. She measured him at the front of the store next to the doors and we were able to get quicker check out because of it. The tailor continually ignored me when I tried to communicate with him. At checkout, a woman who told me she'd worked there for over 20 YEARS said she didn't want to become a manager because of how badly corporate treats its employees and how little they feel anyone cares about them. K&G corporate--you might want to pay attention to that. I was told my alterations would be finished the following Friday. I showed up and suddenly the tag said Tuesday, making the turnaround roughly TWO WEEKS. Because of my work schedule, I couldn't return until the next Friday, immediately before the event I needed the suit for. Then came the part that absolutely blew my mind. THEY LEFT THE GIANT BEIGE MAGNETIC SECURITY TAG ON MY ALTERED SLACKS. I didn't discover it until the day of my event. I had to spend the ENTIRE EVENT trying to hide this thing so nobody would think I'd stolen my own suit. Something I was supposed to enjoy became a day of being self-conscious and paranoid because of K&G's incompetence. But mistakes happen. What REALLY earned the one star was what happened afterward. I returned to have it removed, and the elderly woman who had handed me the suit the previous day couldn't have cared less. I had to explain what happened TWICE before getting a rushed, snarky "Ohhh, your fault, my mistake" followed by a smirk. MY fault?! Your store altered the pants. Your store handed them back to me. Your store left YOUR security tag attached. And after ruining my experience at an important event, THAT'S the response? Here's the irony: the ONLY person in that store who consistently treated me like a customer was a TEENAGER--and I watched him GET IN TROUBLE FOR IT. K&G, PUT THE TEENAGER IN CHARGE. Apparently he's the only person there who understands customer service. This doesn't look like one bad employee. It looks like a management and culture problem. A 20+ year employee openly complaining about corporate, employees taking zero accountability, the one good employee getting reprimanded, and a store that's practically BARREN of customers every time I visit. Maybe those things are connected. I actually LIKE K&G's merchandise, which makes this even more disappointing. But I'm done with this location. Maybe I'll check back in a decade--assuming it's still here. Until then, I would LEGITIMATELY rather pay hundreds of dollars more for my suits somewhere else than ever go through this again. Corporate: don't send me a canned apology. Go find out what the hell is happening inside this store.

We stopped in to shop for yarn on a Sunday afternoon and found the shop to be spacious and charming. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. All in all, a lovely shop. Half of the store is for fiber crafts and the other half is a gift shop with vintage-style offerings like drinking glasses, clothes, accessories, candleholders, and more. I really liked their yarn selection because I don't care for knitting with wool and they had lots of cotton, silk, and bamboo. Their prices are reasonable. I fell in love with yarn called Bamboo Bloom and bought two skeins. The woman who rang me up kindly gave me a copy of a pattern to knit with the yarn, a cute cowl. A knitting class was taking place near the back of the shop while we were there. I eavesdropped and was impressed with the instructor. Much like the other yarn stores I visited while vacationing in Washington, I wish I lived nearby so I could visit there more often.

The space is large and spacious (not cramped or dark). The selection is extensive - both as to yarn and notions. The prices are great as well--I've priced my two go-to yarns at a number of places. They are the cheapest in the Seattle area here, and their prices beat most online vendors. [You get to support a great store with your purchase too!] THE STAFF: All the staff is lovely, but Nicole and Jen deserve special thanks and praise. I've done a number of private one hour lessons with Nicole. She has helped my skills grow so quickly--she is patient and provides the right amount of guidance. Jen's minute check-ins are great for a quick bit of guidance (and she's willing to spend the extra time to wrap things up when I bring in something a little more complicated than I realized). She's also a great resource to bounce questions off of when just browsing. If you're in the Seattle area, you need to swing by!
