My mom and I didn't know what to do for dinner one night, so I hopped on Yelp, and found this place, and it exceeded ALL of our expectations! I placed our ordered on SkipTheDishes, and my mom went to go pick up our food, and the lady running the restaurant was very nice and quick with our order. She made the food fresh, and gave it to us nice and hot! We've been looking for a fantastic Indian restaurant, and we've finally found it! And so close to home too! Every item had the perfect amount of spice and a powerful flavour that remained consistent throughout the whole meal! Also, I could've eaten that garlic naan bread all day! It was so damn delicious. This place has opened recently. Located a bit inside the Fisherman Dr., behind the plaza. But it's worth finding it for the taste of their food!! We had KingPrawn Masala and Lahori Fried Fish with Afghani Pulao Rice. The prawns were really fresh, perfectly cooked retaining the crunchy texture. Lahori fish was soft and fluffy, much better than many other fish fries we have tasted. It has an open kitchen concept, your food is prepared fresh in front of you... and the good part is, you can give your preferences of spices and any other suggestions you might have to make it according to your tastebud :-) Just keep a note, it's mainly a takeout place, with a limited sitting arrangement for small groups. Name has changed to Ami's Kitchen. The service was amazing! The lady was so helpful and pleasant, she even offered us a sample of the malai chicken which we will definitely order on our next visit. The food was freshly made. The biryani portions were plentiful with nice portions of mutton and chicken inside. The fish pakoras, butter chicken and garlic naan were also very delicious. Sometimes it's amazing to find out about a hidden gem that not even Yelpers really knows about (yet). On the heels of an article published on the CBC's website on January 25th by Suresh Doss, we made our way to an industrial plaza in Brampton in search of acclaimed naan and Butter Chicken. It's a difficult spot to find, as it's tucked away along the side of the plaza, nearly entirely obscured from street view, but driving around the plaza will help you to find it if lost. The plaza is located on the East side of Hwy 10/Main Street/Hurontario, south of Sandalwood Parkway and north of DT Brampton. As others have mentioned, it's not a fancy spot, but excellent for takeaway and some limited seating dining in. But if there's one thing we've all learned over the years it's that fancy looking and good food don't necessarily go hand in hand. Sometimes it's the businesses that might be less appealing at first glance that are the true diamonds in the rough. We ordered naan and a butter chicken to share and were invited to have a seat and wait and once ready (they make everything to order) they would bring it out to us. While we waited, I would say nearly a dozen people also staggered in exclaiming that the CBC article had lead them here - so kudos to Suresh and his article for helping to put this place with a great story and great business owners on the map! The food came out and it didn't disappoint. Perfectly cooked garlic flavoured naan, light and fluffy inside (perfect for holding/mopping up the sauce) and a little crisp on the outside from the tandoor. The butter chicken truly was fantastic, a rich velvety sauce, perfectly seasoned, with a fair amount of chicken. I say fair because it's not the least amount of chicken I've received when ordering this dish but there was far more sauce than meat, and I would have liked to have seen a little more. But then again for the price, you might as well just order a second helping (so cheap!). Overall an excellent find, and thrilled that I went and I definitely will come back again! I was in the area, and heard that Brampton is the place for yummy authentic Indian food. Thanks to Yelp, I found this gem. I give it 5 stars for what it is - no fine dining here - it's inexpensive, delicious homey food. As others have mentioned, there is no ambiance here. It's in a weird location, and although there are 3 small tables in there, it's kind of dark in there (the grey walls seem to absorb all the light) and I would much rather take my food to go than dine in. I had called ahead with my order (highly recommended) and when I arrived, the lady was just cooking my tandoori chicken leg. Mmmm the smell of charcoal grilling was enticing. It reminded me of traveling and finding a small hole-in-the-wall restaurant run by the grandmothers who really know how to cook. The garlic naan was soft and fluffy, and the garlic wasn't burnt as it often is at many other places. The butter chicken was made with cubes of white meat, tender and delicious. The dhal makhani and shahi paneer were good too - I often order these dishes at other restaurants and it's nice to be able to appreciate the differences depending on which restaurant makes it. The lamb chop curry was the most expensive thing we ordered and totally, completely worth it (but I am biased because lamb/goat curries are my favourite). They have two kinds of raita, one mint-based yogurt, and the other was a lentil or chickpea based ($3 for a good-sized container). One downside is that they only accept cash or debit, so be forewarned. read more

Hello fellow foodies after looking at all the 5 star reviews on this place and it only being a 5 minute drive from my place I decided to drop by and see what all the great review's were all about myself. I normally review a restaurant mostly based on customer service and quality of food not so much what the restaurant looks like unless it's not clean etc ... So keep this in mind this place is located in a middle of an industrial park in between two auto shops and it's by no means a nice looking place a small unit with few tables very industrial interior I wouldn't even call it a restaurant as far as atmosphere is concerned, however please dont let this sway you from stopping in at this small husband and wife run place the food was just incredible. Let's start with the amazing customer service you get personally from the owners who serve you, they are so nice and go out of there way to make sure your happy with there freshly made food super nice people. The food was fresh , nan was made right in front of me while I waited doesn't get any fresher then that , the butter chicken I ordered for take out was creamy , chicken was tender and just full of flavor, not overly spicey but just perfect and a large portion more then one person can eat , the garlic nan was just amazingly tasty garlicky fresh perfectly cooked its was the greatest combo with my butter chicken ...this place deserves a full 5 star rating for there food quality and taste and amazing customer service I recieved. I stop by this place EVERY time I'm in Brampton (I wish it was more often!) and stock up on my favorites. The food is delicious-- I especially recommend the palak paneer and the nihari, but I must say I've never been disappointed by anything I've ordered. My husband and I tend to have very picky and particular tastes, but this place makes us both happy. The service is also beyond expectations, despite not being a sit-down restaurant. When I told the owner (a sweet woman named Samina) that her cooking reminded me of my mother's, she said, "I'm your mom too," with a genuine kindness that really touched me. Tandoori Tonite goes above and beyond in both food and service. I'd eat here every day if I could! read more

Thanks to an article written by Suresh Doss as part of his CBC Metro Morning series, a pal and I make the trek out here. Be forewarned: you might have a bit of difficulty locating it in the industrial plaza. But don't give up, this restaurant does exist and once you find it, you'll be so happy you did. The inside is small, with two tables with seating for four at each. It's mostly considered a take-out joint so be prepared to eat and go! The menu is a constant evolution of this family business. They have a hand-written menu posted to the wall, where you'll find classics like butter chicken which is what we ordered. Obviously, it won Doss over so we had to try it. Alongside garlic naan, the sauce is creamy and rich. It has some hints of garam masala and cinnamon and of course, has huge chunks of chicken. The garlic naan is light and makes a perfect addition to the curry. It should be noted that while we were here, at least four or five different groups of individuals stopped into the restaurant because of Doss' piece. So I suspect that Tandoori Tonight will be having a bit of a moment, thanks to the piece. I know the next time I'm back in Brampton, I'll be supporting them. read more

This is great home style cooking. I loved that I got to see my naan being made. We got several things for take out and everything was well liked. Great value for money as well. This will be one of my go to takeout places Update: came here today almost a year after my first visit. The owner is just so nice. Great place to get some good home cooked unassuming food, I had ordered mutton curry, just the way I like it not too heavy curry without over the top red chili but very flavorful and some butter chicken, which was creamy and very flavorful not too sweet and some garlic naan. The only reason I am not giving 5 star is because of the not that clean ambiance. read more

The location is not in a retail block but is close to Hurontario st and Bovaird Dr making it an accessible spot for take out. It is family run who can sometimes get overwhelmed but deliver on as close to homemade dish as you can expect from a restaurant - not too greasy or excess of salt. read more

So i bought a groupon 12 for $20 worth of food ,called and placed my order for veal biryani and butter chicken the owner said it would be ready in 20 minutes. Went there it is located in a very small little plaza , entered the shop it was empty with stuff all over the place .The owner/cook came and he said oh i have the veal biryani but i dont feel like giving it to you i asked why he said instead take the mutton biryani , as the veal biryani is stale .Well i said can i check the mutton biryani as i m not comfortable buying it so he is like oh you dont trust me ? The tandoori chicken is the best I have had in years and the fish was meaty with less batter and more fish. The biryani is just right and loved the pricing. We reached the venue by 8:50PM .. not a dine in place, but had seating enough for just 2 families .. the food was good .. best seekh and reshmi kababs that I've had .. the nihari was good .. karahi chicken was chicken masala, and the chanas were home style. The lady owner took care of us well, and I noticed a stream of deliveries. Prices were very reasonable, and fresh tandoori, garlic and mince meat naans were a wow. Good amounts of chicken, unlike other places. Kebabs were also great... Different not what I was expecting. Fresh and right amount of spice. Never disappointed... we've eaten here many times, both eat in & takeaway. It isn't fancy (think Indian greasy spoon) but the food is exceptional. The beef keema naan just might be the best thing I've ever eaten, the butter chicken lives up to the hype, the tikka masala sublime, the garlic naan brilliant. Even the plain white rice benefits from their scrupulous attention to detail. They make the naan and the kababs right in front of you, but alas they use a gas tandoor so you don't get the authentic smoked flavour of a real charcoal tandoor. I ate a small meal, and was by myself, so my experience is limited, but I can say the tandoori fish I had was excellent-- good quality and cooked to perfection! So if I closed my eyes, this would be 5-stars. But the place suffers from rather dreary decor and feels a bit shabby, so that would make take-out a better choice.
