A solid 4 out of 5. Friendly service, high quality food. Clean premises. Had the Chicken and Beef Kabab with a Ginger Ale pop. They cook to order so it takes a little longer. $23 for lunch. Oh well, inflation is a thing.

One of my student is Muslim and we look for halal food whenever we go out for lunch on Fridays. I asked if she could recommend a good Afghani place. She said Bakhtar Kabab without hesitation. This restaurant is oddly situated in an industrial area. On a good note, if you work in this area, you are fortunate to have decent food waiting for you. We found a parking spot and went in. You order at the front counter. If you are dining in, you pay at the end of your meal. My small team has had lunch here twice. I had looked at the menu befoe heading over here and noticed that it had mantoo, which are meat-filled dumplings. I love dumplings and had my heart set on them. Both times that I have visited them, the mantoo were not available. I was disheartened the first time, but handled it better the second time. My student tends to get the waziri kabab meal, which consists of a kabab, kofka, rice, salad, and bread. All of us followed suit! I went with a chicken kabab and beef kofka the first time. Recently, I did chicken and chicken. I also got a can of Diet Coke. You get a ton of food here. It's all made fresh and fast. The chicken kebab had tender, flavourful morsels of chicken. The kofta, whether beef or chicken, was also tender and delicious. I love kofta and both flavours were done with perfection. You get sauces on the side. The spicy one is what you want, unless you can't handle that much heat. It compliments everything. I tend to eat salad first. It was so fresh and yummy. The rice is perfect. It ties everything together. Oh, and let's talk about the flatbread. I typically am so full after such a meal that I can't do the bread. Nope, I dipped it in the spicy sauce, ate it plain, and couldn't stop. It had both black and regular sesame seeds. So good! This place is now my favourite Afghani restaurant. I am hoping that the mantoo return. I need to sample them! (421)

The kebobs in this placed are tender and well spiced to the next level. I was trying to skip dinner but I guess it's not happening

I was looking for some new Afghan restaurant to go to and then I found this location. Run by husband and wife opened the doors 4 years back. They were friendly, service was a little slow but the main reason they lost a star was because their menu was a little confusing. Went with few people so we got to order multiple things. The order was for a Shawarma Special (Chicken Shawarma and kofta kabob), Sultani Kabob (Chicken kabob and chicken kofta), Babori Kabob (Tikka Kabob and Kofta Kabob), Waziri Kabob (Chicken breast and chicken kofta) and half chicken. All kababs were very well marinated and cooked. I enjoyed the Shawarma Special the most. The portions were decent. What I liked the most was that their spices were a little different the other Afghan restaurants in the area. They do give naan with the meals but they don't make their naans in house. Overall, good experience. For my Muslim bro and sis - They serve halal food at this location

Went there on Sunday for late lunch with a few friends. Found great reviews of them on google maps so decided to check them out. We got there just after they opened. It has a very clean and spacious seating area plus a lounge area for shisha (we speculate that's what it's for), humbly decorated. Service was very friendly and great too. The food is really delicious and fresh! As other reviews mentioned, their bbq and grill are amazing! I ordered the lamb and Kebob combo and shared it with a friend (can't exactly fill two people, but more than enough for one person). The meat was really tender, well seasoned and falls right off the bone. The salad that came in the combo was very fresh. Because they were great on all points, 5 stars :) Would definately recommend and go back again!

Kofta Kabob was good; Tikka Kabob was the best I've ever had. I'll be back next time I'm in Brampton.

We didn't have to wait long before the food was served. The chicken came off the bone so easily, and it was nicely seasoned as well. The dish came on a large bed of rice and a delicious lentil soup, along with dipping sauce. The price was pretty affordable given the size as well. The place was brightly lit and there was lots of space each time I went. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.

I am usually that person who does this like lamb as much coz of the smell but trust me when I say, this was the softest and juiciest no-smell lamb I have ever had. It was melt-in-your-mouth soft and packed with flavor! The rice portion was enough for 2-3 people to share depending on how hungry you are. It also comes with fried onions and potato on the rice. The chicken and lamb mixed mandi was good too but honestly after trying the lamb, I was sold! However, I did like the rice on the chicken mandi better than the lamb one. I thought it tasted better. The place was quite busy and it's an order-at-counter system they follow but the food was brought in quickly which is appreciated.

I'm visiting Toronto and wasn't sure what I wanted to eat for dinner so I headed to Yelp, read…read morereviews, and chose Palmyra. I'm so glad I did. This is a small, family owned establishment. The family was actually sitting down to dinner at the end of the day when I arrived approximately an hour before close. It was wonderful to see them eating together. I was immediately greeted by one of the employees. He was very friendly and allowed me to take my time. I wanted to try a falafel because I love to try several menu items. He accommodated that and allowed me to order a single falafel patty to try. I was stuck between choosing the Palmyra Platter or the Mixed Shawarma plate because, as I said, I like to try several items. I ended up choosing the mixed shawarma plate and ordered it as is. The falafel was crispy and I could taste the herbs mixed in. The sauce drizzled over the top was the perfect addition. I was so glad I tried it. I was so eager to taste it that I forgot to get a photo. I chose the mixed shawarma plate thinking it would be a more manageable serving for me to finish than the Palmyra platter. I was sorely mistaken. It was easily enough food for at least 2 people. This was well worth the price point. The salad was fresh and crispy with a good variety of vegetables in it. I really enjoyed the vinaigrette they used for it as well; just tangy enough. The chicken and beef were crispy on the outside and tender inside. They had good flavor and were not dry at all. The spicy potatoes were a tad spicy for me but I still ate them. The rice was ok in my opinion. I had enough left over to eat a second time. I will definitely visit here again on a subsequent trip so I can try more of their menu items. Overall this was a good experience for me.
