I love a good fusion pizza so I was stoked to find an Indian inspired pizza spot! I love Indian food so I loved the idea of having it on a pizza. We got half tandoori chicken & half butter chicken. Toppings for each flavor were very similar, you could barely taste the difference. I think the only difference was the chicken was marinated in different sauces. Flavor-wise the pizzas were really good, just wished each flavor had more variety in topping between each one. Aside from the pizza, the service was not the best as the lady who gave me my order seemed annoyed & wasn't very friendly. Overall, the food is what's holding up my 4 star review! read more

I love that this place is family run! The owner I believe is Anu is usually taking orders and I just love her vibe she's so welcoming! We've been eating their pizza's here since they basically opened up and it just never gets old. We alternate our orders from meat lovers, chicken tikka, tandoori chicken, garlic cheesy bread, Caesar salad, and a mango lassi! Honestly their food just makes me wanna crave it every month so definitely worth trying this place out! I usually just park by the fast food area right next to it and pick up my order (I call ahead) so it's just easier for me. We've dined in a couple of times and I'll say try out any of their alcoholic beverages especially whatever the owners recommend! They're pet friendly too! read more

Called ahead to ask when they closed and if seating was avaialble or if it was just take out. I should have known right away, the person on the other end of the line sounded very annoyed that i was calling. (Should have gone to Burger King Next door). Once i found parking, around the corner, behind the apartments, there was a knocked over sign welcoming me to park at Tandoori slice. (dont make rhe mistake if parking somewhere where there isnt a sign, you'll likely get towed away. Went here thinking, oh! indian pizza! Nope. Frozen crust. Saddest "Caesar Salad" ever. (for nearly 10 bucks each. A bowl of old lettuce, croutons from Safeway, Dressing from Wal-mart. Butter Chicken Pizza? ok! Nope. A sad, mostly just a normal pizza, with a certainly frozen crust maybe with a diluted butter chicken sauce? not sure if there was any chicken on it. It did have cilantro. lots of cilantro. Maybe it was a Cilantro pizza? Atmosphere was that of a 19 year old's first apartment. With a sign, right when you walk in, ordering any children that may be with you to out back any of the children's "fun" items back exactly where you found them (or else). This was a big mistake. A hidden gem in the Des Moines area! This was my first time trying Indian pizza, and the quality was absolutely delicious. We got a large pizza and split it between two flavors: Butter Chicken and Tandoori Chicken. The large pizza was perfect for my party of 3 people. The pizza also has a thin crust and breading. It also has a decent amount of spice to it. The interior of the place is a perfect sit-down area for hanging out with friends or your family. I got the gluten free chicken tikka masala pizza, and it was delicious The flavor was on point. The only negative one this place is accesing it. You have to park behind the apartment complex it's under and walk down a flight or two of stairs to street level. The was lots of kids riding their bikes in the parking lot stopping in front of my car and not noticing me so it took a while to park. The visitor parking space signs are very hard to see, I finally found them on my way out, but accidentally ended parking in a residents spot since nothing was clearly marked. BUT!!! My family and I were in town visiting family. After our plane landed, we were starving and decided to look for something to eat. Someone in our group found this spot and we were totally intrigued... Indian food... on pizza?! We love Indian food, and we love pizza, so this was a no brainer. It's an adorable little mom and pop shop, family run. The owners were friendly and sweet - and we chatted it up while we waited for our order. They do have small tables to dine in, but we opted to take ours to go. During the drive to our Airbnb, we were salivating from the smell! And when we finally ate... wow! We were definitely not disappointed!! Omg, soooo delicious!!! We really loved the food. The fact that it's family owned makes it even more endearing. My only complaint? We can't get this food now that we're back in Los Angeles. Counting down the days to our next visit to Washington. The butter chicken pizza was very disappointing as it did not taste at all like butter chicken, the sauce was basically flavorless and the pizza crust was either very old or frozen. The meat lovers was probably the best of the bunch, but even for a meat lovers it was sparse and just not special. The garlic cheese bread wanted to be like papa Jon's garlic cheese bread but felt and tasted like it was previously frozen and the marinara pizza sauce felt like it came out of a tin can as it was very metallic tasting. I took the plate to the one older woman at the front snd she just says, "oh hair was on plate only" .. i said no the hair was inside the pizza. The chairs and small dirty love seat style sofas are so uncomfortable that you will feel strange wiggling around trying to find a good spot on it!! Absolutely lovely locally owned Indian pizza parlour! I came in shortly after opening for the day and found a very clean dinning area with an employee up and ready to go! There's parking in the apartment complex, aim for the ones that are labeled for retail guests. I went with all my usual fixins' when I get Indian pizza and they were all really good. The only downside is that they don't do thin crust, which is something my dinning partner seeks out. Full bar with amazing sounding drinks! Alas, on the day I went they weren't doing cocktails. Turns out the owners' daughter is the mixologist and she was on vacay when I went. I was also advised that coming in the evenings (after 4pm) is when she's most likely to be there. It's a little out of the way for me, but I love Indian pizza so it was definitely worth the trip. Hubs wanted Indian food, I wanted pizza. So we met in the middle and I'm so glad we did. We got the butter pizza and tandoori pizza. The smell alone had my stomach growling, and all the flavors together are delicious. The chicken is nice and tender, but I do feel like the pizza is lacking on Indian spices. But it's still delicious. Parking was confusing, I recommend parking in the Burger King lot. Not a word that I use lightly. This isn't just a hidden gem. This is pizza, and craft cocktail's Star of India. I review restaurants, and write about spirits. Tandoori Slice is the most wonderful, magical, hole-in-the-wall that I have run into, in more than 15 years of writing about restaurants. Unique and delicious, these are some of the best pizza's that I've ever tried. Thin crust. The perfect amount of toppings, to cheese, that creates amazing mouth feel. They can make you an America pizza, but the Indian pizzas? These are the legendary ones. The tandoori chicken pizza is amazing. The butter chicken as well. The beauty is the love and care that is taken at building each pizza. The chop of the ingredients, their careful distribution, and the way that the flavors, isolated in the cheese, come together, and melt happily in your mouth? It's enough to make any Brooklyn pizza snob weep with delight. On this trip, I brought along a dye-in-the-wool New Yorker who is beyond pizza picky. She took one bite, and LOVE. LOVE of cooking, and love of serving great food is what Tandoor Slice is all about. I last wrote about this place a year ago. They were just getting under way. A year later, the food is still seven star. The cocktail bar, which was just coming together, is now at a level where it deserves special mention, in a moment. This is a family owned, and run mom-and-pop. The love may not hit you, as you open the door. As you enter, you see more of your traditional pizzeria. A counter, some cases, and walk away snacks, candy and drinks, that are more what you'd find anywhere. Turn left, into the room. For sit down, the furnishings are super clean, casual-elegant, and humble. At the end of the dining room is a very modest-looking bar. This is a place, if you never ate a bite of pizza, that you still will get an amazing drink. The bar is the domain of Anu, who is a self-taught craft cocktail savant. I've sat down at some of the best craft cocktail bars in the world. I've paid top-dollar for some really amazing performances of the mixology arts. While this place lacks the dark paneled walls, and pony-tailed, bespectacled self-anointed craft cocktail gods, and the hefty performance art prices, I will tell you that Anu can go toe-to-toe with any of them. Her Lavender Gimlet (see my photos) is so memorable that I actually crave it. This, not being much of a gin fan, is a definite honor. Whatever she doesn't know, she learns. Her selection of spirits is thorough enough to make some wonderful experiments. She is one of the nicest people that you will meet, and very open to exceeding guest expectations. This is your unicorn, Seattle, in sleepy Des Moines. If you love great food, pizza, craft cocktails, or all of the above, you owe it to yourselves to drive over here. It's tucked away in the corner of a mixed use apartment/retail complex, next to a Burger King. Parking is in the back, MIDDLE. There are signs for retail parking. There are steps down to the street. Go left, walk downhill towhere you can enter Tandoori Slice. If you are doing pickup, or dropping off someone with ADA needs, you can do that at the Burger King. The parking arrangement is confusing -- you have to drive up into the apartment complex parking lot behind it and look for the signs for Retail Parking (second row). Then it's a bit of a walk. I think they were a little disappointed that we played it safe and ordered a pepperoni pizza, but it was late, we were tired, and sometimes you're more hungry than adventurous! Butter chicken pizza sounds enticing doesn't it? You can almost smell it right? Don't do it. Don't order pizza, from here. We ordered two different pizzas. One butter chicken and one tandoori chicken. I would describe both of them as an abysmal. One could almost forgive the premade, previously frozen, pizza crust. IF the pizza toppings on the sad pizza crust were even marginally good. The toppings are chopped up to a scant 1/4 of an inch. It tastes all the same, and not like butter chicken or tandoori. But a single, out of tune, flat key, struck over and over until you just can't take another bite. Honestly, that bad. We have in the past enjoyed Indian style pizzas in the past. Pass..... My wife and I ordered a garden salad each and a tandoori chicken pizza. We did not finish the salads and ended up leaving them behind. The salad tasted like hospital food. All it was just a bag salad mix with some cucumbers and tomatoes on it. Very minimal. The chicken tandoori pizza was bland. I was expecting lots of delightful flavors that you get with Indian food. I had to put on lots of pepper flakes to give it flavor. The service was almost nonexistent. We were the only ones in the place and it seems not many call in orders were being made. We kept on waiting for service for every little thing. The place itself reminded me of a tapas bar from 2005. The music they were playing seems to be from the same era. I kinda like this old skool vibe. The parking is on the roof of the building. Where you can and can't park is not clearly marked. Especially the parking lot entrance has a sign that says permit parking only. There is restaurant parking near the leasing office. The parking is very funky. All of the restaurant parking stalls all say compact only. The parking stalls are very narrow and most cars can barely fit in them. To make matters worse the lanes are narrow as well. This place is so chill in the best way. We were down in the area after taking some family pics at the beach and we thought we'd try something here before heading back north. Tandoori Slice was a good call. The ambiance was gorgeous with a lit up bar, lush plants everywhere, and a laidback soundtrack playing through the speakers. We came here as a family, but it would be a fun date night too- such a fun, chill vibe. The pizza was served hot and was so very tasty- it tasted like a typical combo with a small twist. YUM! We devoured a large butter chicken as 2 kids / 2 adults. Ordering at the front was quick and easy- they were able to customize the spice level for our non-spice loving kiddos and remove the cilantro for my soap-mouthed genes. Came here last night for the first time with my boyfriend and we loved this place. This unassuming yet delicious joint under an apartment complex is one of our favorite finds in the area. For food, my partner and I tried their samosas and their Tandoori chicken pizza. Highly recommend to save the chutney from the samosas and drizzle it on the pizza. It adds another flavor to the mix that makes it so good. As for the drinks, the lavender gimlet was phenomenal. They make their own lavender syrup in house and you can tell it made the drink so much better. Fragrant but not overwhelming. The bartender is the sweetest and made my bf a mezcal old fashion. We'd recently learned about Indian pizza and were excited to try it out. Tandoori Slice, down in Federal Way, is a bit of a journey, but it was so highly rated that it seemed worth the drive. The restaurant is a little hard to spot - it's next to the Burger King but part of a mixed-use building that is part of the huge apartment complex behind it. There's no parking out front, but there is free parking in the lot inside the complex. You have to go up a level from the back of the restaurant to find the Retail Parking signs. It says you're supposed to register on your phone, but we weren't able to get this to work and it seemed fine without registering. The restaurant, like the building and the whole complex, is large, spacious and clean. It has a handful of tables, a waiting area for pickup orders, and a bar that was unoccupied when we were there. You order at the counter and pay at the end, so it's a pretty casual feel. There were a couple of big-screen TVs playing sports and a shelf of board games that you could borrow. The menu isn't huge, but it has some classic pizza flavors, the Indian pizza menu, and some Indian appetizers (samosas, pakoras) and desserts. We asked if we could do a 50/50 of two flavors, and the owner said it depended on which flavors we wanted, but she was able to mix tikka paneer and butter chicken for us on a large 14" pizza. I see from other reviews that you can change the spice level, but this isn't mentioned on the menu and we weren't offered that option. Although there are about 10 options on the Indian pizza menu, they pretty much all have exactly the same toppings except for the sauce and the protein, so there wasn't much difference between the two flavors. We really liked the paneer, which was a little spicy. The meat on the butter chicken pizza looked and tasted like tandoori chicken - the butter chicken part is the sauce, I guess. A large was enough to feed two hungry people with a couple of slices left over. Overall, we really enjoyed the toppings and the flavor combos! The pizza was a little light on the sauce, so the butter chicken sauce mostly just tasted like regular red sauce. I would have LOVED it if they had chutneys, raita, etc. available as dipping sauces, too. The service was fast and friendly, and our pizza was ready in about 15 minutes. The owners checked on us and asked how we liked the pizza, and were very warm and pleasant. This is a family owned place with a cute interior. It is on the bottom floor of an apartment complex and faces the Pacific Coast Highway (I.e., a fast, busy road). Parking isn't so great. It is in the back of the building and you have to look for signs and walk down stairs. (In other words, it is hard to "pop in and out.") it was close to our airport hotel, casual and had good Yelp ratings, so it checked all the boxes. We tried one of their speciality Indian style pizzas (one of the vegetarian ones). It was good. We are glad we tried something different. It was really good. I got the Spicy Tandoori Tofu (vegan) pizza. So delicious!!!! The perfect amount of spicy. I removed the ginger, olives and pineapples.
