We had dinner at Tandoori our last night in Paris. It's not just a hole-in-the-wall, it's located in the midst of a lot of construction. Not the best ambience if you're dining outdoors, which we were.
There are a lot of Indian restaurants where I live and it's my family's favorite cuisine, especially as there tend to be many vegetarian options. I can't compare Tandoori to other Indian restaurants in Paris, as it was the only one I visited, but it made us all yearn for our favorite Indian restaurants at home.
The menu had few vegetarian dishes, so we tried most of them. Service was perfunctory, although other tables were occupied by regulars, who got much better treatment than we did. Understandable, just not very friendly. The mint sauce was iridescent green, motivating me to wonder about their use of ingredients.
A few minutes after we got our food, the people at the next table started smoking. And smoking. All right, it's Paris; what can you do? we paid the bill and left as quickly as we could. read more
