There was poor communication to start the project while trying to get a quote but it eventually resolved. They tried to change the price the day of the installation but after reaching an agreement they ended up sticking to the original price that was agreed upon.

I have contacted them about the warranty and company failed to respond even after a certified letter. We have video and photo evidence that shows complete damage to our property, even after they attempted to resolve an issue. The Flooring Company sent out a cleaning crew and painter to attempt to resolve some issue, which ultimately failed. There are numerous soft spots throughout the floors, confirmed by numerous contractors after installation. We aren't asking for perfection but a professional job after spending over $25,000 for flooring. Your business practices we have experienced has been deceptive and unprofessional. UPDATE: Owner sent me an email asking to remove my bad review or he will pursue legal action. Watch out! Deceitful! The photos reflect the condition of which The Flooring Company LLC left my property in after they completed the job. I had to complain and push to get a cleaning crew which was ineffective (I had to spend $400 to get a cleaning crew to come out after The Flooring Company LLC's cleaning crew "cleaned" the property). Additionally, The Flooring Company LLC hired a painter to patch the damage to my walls, which did a poor job. Absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional company. I'm looking forward to The Flooring Company LLC to post the final images and videos of their flooring at my property--which would be downright embarrassing for their company. See you in court very soon!

Todd gave us a good price and was helped us find the flooring that we wanted. Simon did a great job installing the hardwood, carpet, and luxury vinyl tile for us. Simon was prompt about responding to messages, was organized, showed up when he said he would, completed the job faster than he had estimated, and did a very careful and skilled job installing the flooring. The only bad thing is that his schedule is full about 2 months out so you have to plan ahead.

I have used this product before in my home remodeling, and it is excellent. The Floor Trader has Chelsea Plank Flooring for the same (really good) price that it sells for at the actual factory in Chelsea, MI. The folks at The Floor Trader were very patient at answering my questions. They also let me take two large samples home for the week, to compare to my existing flooring. To sum up, I'm really happy with their helpfulness. And, they offer a very good price on this particular product, which I know to be of excellent quality. (PS -- I live right here in Ann Arbor, not in San Francisco. But, Yelp put under my name that I live in CA.)

Ann Arbor Hardwoods - After floor-refinishing. "Red Mahogany" stain color.

Ann Arbor Hardwoods

Five stars. Superb…read more We had a couple of estimates for our floor. Michael, Ann Arbor Hardwoods' owner, was by far the most competent and professional. Pricing was competitive, too. It wasn't the lowest price, but the range was less than you might have thought. During a kitchen remodel, we wanted to re-do the floor as well. It had had 25 years of hard use and abuse, and it was showing its age. Michael walked us through the process, gave us the various options (stain or no stain, for example), all without pressure. He obviously knows what he's doing and his experience with hardwood floors shows. When it came time for the actual refinishing, the crew were prompt, courteous, professional and exceptionally tidy. Sanding floors produces sawdust (surprise!), but the vacuums used during the process kept the sawdust to a minimum. I covered the television downstairs with a plastic sheet (I recommend that), but that was about it. We had no dust upstairs. We had some repair work done at the same time. It was immaculate. You couldn't tell there had been repairs in the water-damaged area by the dishwasher or in front of the closet where the door frame had been replaced. We opted for no stain. That's a personal preference and a bit of a gamble since the wood color is unknown until the old stain comes off. Good choice. The wood looked great after the sanding and the 3 coats of sealant really brought it to life. NOTE: Plan a little time into the schedule to leave the floor sealant to dry properly. A week or so should be enough. You probably don't want to drag a dishwasher over the floor the day afterwards, like we had planned to do (but didn't). After the sealant had dried, the crew replaced the quarter-round edging around the entire area. No problems, no damage and it all looked great. I highly recommend Ann Arbor Hardwoods.
