I have had a horrible experience with Tan Republic. I had fees added to my credit card two months in a row. I tried talking with the manager, and could never get anyone to call me back. I have been calling corporate Tan Republic, and haven't received a call back. Twice I went in to tan and the doors were locked during business hours. When I called another store across town. They said , the desk person didn't show up to work. Overall, I just really disappointed the lack of customer service. I won't be going back, nor will my friends. This is for the south bend tan ripoff republic. If I could I'd give a negative 5 stars. I called and signed up over the phone the person on the other end of the phone had no idea what or how to sign a person up! It took almost an hour to do that. The online price didn't match the price they charged me as well. This was for my wife as a surprise at Christmas. I made sure they new that, well first time she goes in they have no record of that. She had to call me and have me speak to the front desk. Then she was like opps I see it. The we were going of of the area for a few weeks . I had asked over the phone if I could put the account on hold for a month while gone. I was assured oh that will be fine. So I told my wife to let them know when she went in. They told her oh no you have to email that request to us. Never telling anyone it had to be a month in advance not just a week. Total BS. They also never responded to the email. So I had to call the shop again. I said I see you charged me for the time I asked to be put on hold I get it that happens. I run a business that has monthly billing as well. So I asked her to refund that month she said no can't do that. I asked why she said you didn't do it in time so you get charged. I then asked why didn't someone say that at any point. She said well its in your contract I told her I signed up on the phone and was never given a contract. I said you can look that up. So refund my monthly payment. she again said I won't do that because your email was not soon enough. It was over a week before the billing was due. So then the girl said she was the manager and that she had to go the paying client were more important and had to go. Dirty establishment, poor product knowledge from staff, discrimination, and favoritism from staff. Staff member called the owner and then called the cops on me for coming in without a mask on, yet allowed a woman who came in after me (also without a mask on) to tan. I was on a monthly unlimited membership. As a paying customer, she had zero reason to not tan me. I waited for an HOUR in the establishment for a cop to show up (and do nothing since mandates aren't laws and I have a religious exemption letter from my pastor). What a waste of my time and what an over reaction!!!! Waste of our local police resources as well, all at the request of the owner! The owner then trespassed me for life for having a religious exemption. I was very kind to the employee and recorded the entire interaction on my phone which also shows the woman who came in after me without a mask on being offered tanning services. I have been managing a campaign in Florida for the past few months, but will be addressing this matter when I get back. Avoid at all costs! read more

My wife setup a membership and we had no issues... until we cancelled her membership, following their protocol, March of 2022. We have all email records of this. Since then they have been charging our card twice a month at over $80 a charge (over $160 a month). It is now February of 2023. After multiple conversations via email and phone calls with the staff and owner we are at the point of charging Tan Republic with theft as they are taking unauthorized money and will not stop, and we will be going to small claims court for 100% reimbursement. The better business bureau will be looking into this matter as well. This business has proven itself to be dishonest and crooked. I hope no one falls into their scheme due to this review and acquires a tanning membership elsewhere if needed. read more

Had a mystery charge of $117 applied to my card two days after I signed up for my membership & was charged $10 more monthly then what I was told. They refused to refund the money even though they had no clue where the $117 came from as it wasn't on my account & said I was being charged extra each month was for 'service fees'. I was told nothing about extra charges when signing up. Super shady & not happy at all with what happened. A few of the beds have duck tape to cover up cracks as well, I'm sure that's not up to code & it looks really trashy. read more

After all of the hassles, It is clear to me you do not have what it takes to run a successful business in this town. were you struggling these holidays? If I have a negative balance you can just go ahead and eat that after the invoice I send you for the multiple trips I've made in this dangerous weather at $4.50/ gal gasoline and the HOURS IVe SPENT driving around on a wild goose chase (surely, that's worth something), all to not get a spray tan that YOU PROMISE under my membership/our contract. You and your girls need to get it together. I have made multiple attempts to come in to town and finish my cocktail tan which is what my membership is for, and you are unable to deliver consistently. The last three visits have been incomplete and dismissive of me and my money. I would actually like a refund for all of my hassle and trouble for not having your beds ready and sending me across town on more than one occasion to complete your end of the deal. I have been sent across town 3 times because your south branch can't fulfill our contract due to mechanical issues. On the second occurrence, I asked one of your girls to make sure it's in the notes that the other location knows I'm coming and they don't fucking do it. Not only did I find out later they didn't do it, they closed earlier than stated. Wasting my time. On the third visit, last night, now I'm pissed. How dare you attempt to charge me additional fee for MY TROUBLE under YOUR employees direction to go to the other location...AGAIN. All to find out, my membership was due that same day, and this negative balance prevented me from competing my sessions I already paid for! Did I mention,I completed the first part of my cocktail hours earlier that day?. Do you feel zero duty in fulfilling your obligation after I've already paid a membership fee for your services?!? Do you feel ZERO obligation to fulfill those services at a different location for the price I already paid?!?. You will be getting bad yelp reviews on this one, and Facebook and any Google rating anything and everything I'm making it my mission today to let everybody know just exactly how awful my experience has been . You had the chance to fix it last night, and you told Bailey to charge me for a $6 cartridge to fulfill my needs, and I already paid $30 to drive from DRW (three times) to get what I needed. 1.) More Spent and you get less! 2.) Dark & Dingy, no light to put on your lotion! 3.) No towel, not even a mini towel... When I asked for one, the girl gave me a cleaning rag... Not joking! I visited the East Bend location of Tan Republic and had what I consider the worst tanning experience of my life. To start, I walked in and was greeted by the front desk employee, who was nice enough at first but knew nothing at all and continuously stated "I don't know much, I'm new here". She then proceeded to set me up in the Mystic Booth without explain ONE PART of how to get a spray tan. Luckily, I was a long time Palm Beach Tan member when I lived in the southeast, so I knew how to take off my jewelry, apply the lotion, etc. She didn't explain to me how soon afterwards I could shower, she didn't explain how to stand, or what to do, she didn't explain ANYTHING. Then, I got into the Mystic booth and waved my hands as she told me to in order to shut the door and make it start. It IMMEDIATELY started blasting without any talking or warning and literally took my breath away it scared me so badly. It proceeded to spray about 3 times and then I turned around (from previous knowledge), it sprayed me 3 more times and then the door popped open. It never said one word or anything about what to do. After this horrific "spray tan" I got out to see that there was a MASSIVE black circle on my neck that I ended up having to wipe off with a towel. The employee at the front desk said "that's weird" and offered no solutions or comfort about what would happen next. My body is splotchy with black marks and this is the most hideous and disgusting excuse for a spray tan I have ever seen. This place is heinous, do not go there. I would rather have to spend the rest of my entire life pasty white than have to go back into Tan Republic. read more

Poorly managed unprofessional business. Saw an advertisement over the Thanksgiving weekend which said you could get a free tan. My wife and I went down to check out the place, get prices, etc. Well, my wife was able to get a weeks worth of free tans, which was nice. The attendant told me I was ineligible because I had been in there within the last week. Huh??? Also, they do not have a rate sheet one can take with them. There pricing structure is somewhat bizarre and they do not offer minutes packages. We will be taking our business down the road and see what other options are available in town. read more

As another poster said the tanning machines are almost never working. If they are working they aren't working very well and you look like you didn't even get a spray tan. This post should have been written months ago because the machines have been broken for months maybe even a year. And the north side location sends you to the south side where their machines are broken as well. I even called and they said they were working but when I showed up they weren't working. Just canceled the membership but I am being charged for another full month for a product that doesn't work. How can you operate a business and not have working equipment? It's a joke. Told the girl working there and she said to say something on Facebook. Figured Yelp might be the better route. I'll be looking for another tanning salon in Bend to give my money to. read more

I called the east, north, south and Redmond location and not one out of the four employees I called + one manager (at the north location) could tell me what specific Mystic Tan booth they have. They couldn't tell me weather the booth had a heat cycle. One girl said the booth was "always kind of warm" when she cleaned it (east side) and one girl said they didn't heat up the solution (north). The solution is not heated the actual booth is. I believe there are 3 booths that most tanning salons carry; Versa, Kyss & HD. I can't say say for sure if the HD and the Kyss are the same, because I don't work at a tanning salon . I've never been to or called a tanning salon where the employees didn't know what spray tan booth they have. Now I'm not sure what to do, except drive to three locations and look at them (the south locations Mystic Tan is broken). I already have a spray tan at Apollo Tanning, but I was willing to pay $35 (or a package deal)for a heated booth. The heated booths also spray better than the Versa in my opinion which is another feature I was seeking out. I know for certain the Vera does not have a heat cycle. Why don't these employees know what booth they have? They do at every Palm Beach Tan in Portland and Apollo Salon here in Bend. read more

The Central Oregon Tan Reublics are all ran by the same owner. They are the WORST! The beds barely function, duck taped (literally), and no pillow or towel provided unless you request one. Poor management. They randomly close locations due to weather or staffing issues. Extremely inconvenient. Management will not return emails or calls. Radios are always broken. Beds often do not get cleaned. Platinum beds always have maintenance issues at the Eastside location. When that happens, they NEVER offer to upgrade you to the diamond bed. Instead they'll charge you $12. Gold beds are always full and I've often had to tan in a silver for the cost of my platinum package. The beds are rather old for a tanning salon of this magnitude. Their mystic tan is horrible! Colors you Trump orange and is extremely uneven. It sprayed my clothes with the door shut and ruined my white jacket hanging. Save your $ and go somewhere else. read more
