Now that I've tanned at the other two tanning salons in the area, I can give an honest, relative…read morereview. Tanlines is the best salon. The people have always been very nice, and the salon is clean. I think my only complaint is that one month they said my autopay was declined, so I pulled out my credit card and gave it to her. She ran it for an additional $10 without mentioning it, and it went through without an issue. When i went to sign the slip I asked why it was $65 for one month of tanning, and she said it was because my card was declined and there's a fee for bounced payments. I called Chase right in front of her to ask why they declined a regular ongoing charge, and the guy said there were no declines on their end so it must've been an issue with the terminal at the point of service. She listened to my conversation with the representative, and my repeating what he said back to him, that Chase did *not* decline my payment, it must've been a glitch on Tanlines' end, and still wouldn't refund the $10 so I was overcharged that month, which sucked. That's what made me leave and go to a salon closer to me-- not the $10 charge, but the principle of not being willing to fix the error. Fortunately for Tanlines, my new salon was a bit unsanitary (carpet in tanning rooms?!?!), so I came back. It's worth the one-time overcharge of $10! (....Ok fine, i still wish they hadn't done it, but whatever, I guess.)

I will NEVER GO ANYWHERE ELSE…read more Okay. Full disclosure. The owner of this business was a friend from grade school who I'd say hi to at the grocery store or the mall. When I saw that she was starting a spray tan business I decided I was going to give her a try. 1) because the introductory price was right 2) this girl has freckles. Like me. If there's anyone to trust with a spray tan, it's a fellow fair skinned lady because we all want to look tan, and fear appearing like an Oompa Loompa. I've had spray tans from other local places, and I have nothing negative to say at all about them, but after visiting That Glow Tho, I won't go anywhere else. Krista (the owner), did everything to make me feel comfortable, gave me a gorgeous and comfy robe to get into and then took the time to spray me by hand. I felt super comfortable and she took extra care to mind creasing and was super careful about my hands and feet. Let's get to the BEST PART. I only had to avoid water and sweat for TWO HOURS. I showered and my tan looked gorgeous after it had fully developed (overnight). Not only was I NATURAL looking, I was NOT ORANGE. Historically no matter what I've done my skin peels in spots and the tan just doesn't want to stay, but this tan faded SO NATURALLY, and did not run off or peel off. I looked like I was naturally slowly fading from a vacation for a couple of weeks. Honestly do yourself a favor and give this girl a chance ESPECIALLY if you have fair skin. Krista will make you feel comfortable and also make it look like you just got home from a vacation with a natural tan. Oh-- and spray tans don't give you skin cancer.

Rat maze trying to figure that one out. But not the fault of the salon. There's a questionnaire to fill out in regards to your skin tone/ sensitivity to tanning lights (I only ever spray so I don't apply, but you have to fill it out.) A standard form, laminated, with magic erase, at least they're not wasting a ton of unnecessary paper. The salon I went to previously had theirs down for a bit, and me being frustrated, I have now switched places. This is easy peasy, and their Versa spray booth is newer, and tbh the tan lasts at least a day or so longer for some reason. It's also never cold. The drying method emits heat so I'm not having the shivers. They include hairnets, and actual towels instead of paper towels, as well as nose plugs. It's always clean when I go, and I haven't experienced them being out of any of the amenities. It's $30 a spray which is $5 more than where I was going, so maybe I'll get a package deal next time. It's less hassle than the old place. My only wish is that they could carry paper footies where they stick to your feet so the bottoms down turn dark.

Had a trip to California planned and wanted to get a base tan. I had never tanned before in my life…read moreand counted on the staff to advise the best course of action. After looking at my options, I chose to purchase a week of the top tier. The staff also recommended some men's tanning lotion that ran $35 for a small tube. My first session, the top tier tanning bed wouldn't turn on so they put me in a lower level booth. I wore some shorts and tanned for 20 minutes. I got so burnt that first session I couldn't return until the 4th day. Now, your week runs in succession, so if you don't consecutively use your days, you lose them...no biggie. My second trip i wore a shirt and long shorts to cover the burnt areas and got a decent 15 minute session on the other areas. The staff put me in a lower level booth again...I was a little pissed but didn't raise a fuss. After the first session I was told I could leave my lotion there with my name on it and could use it whenever I returned. I had planned on returning for a 3rd session but couldn't make it snd went on my trip to Cali for 10 days. So I paid for 7 days of top tier, used 2 days and never got to use the top tier tanning bed. Upon returning, I stopped by to grab the tanning lotion because it was so pricey, but was told it was missing. I asked if I could talk to a manager, and the lady behind the counter said that she was the manager. I hinted at what could be done and was told, quote, "We have no way of knowing if you took it home or not." So she was calling me a liar and held the stance I was s**t out of luck. First of all I am a retired active duty Army veteran with 24 years and 5 year long combat deployments...you don't lie in the military. If you do, your career is going to be very short. I've never had my integrity questioned like that. Secondly, I earn over 6 figures a year and could care less about a $35 dollar bottle of overpriced lotion. It was the principle. So pissed at this place...I put my trust in their hands and ended up burnt and ripped off. Eventually, this place will go out of business if the manager continues to treat customers like this. Not even a "sorry we lost your lotion", just an accusation and an oh well. Oh well, I'll tell everyone I know about my treatment and maybe they'll lose more than $35 in business.

Great staff. Great facilities. Great tanning lotion selection. Great prices. Tan here folks.read more

I can appreciate an owner clarifying information; and I definitely encourage people to try a place…read moreout for themselves. However, I stand by my reviews, as I keep them factual, not personal, although, obviously, my experiences factor into ratings. My experience with your staff was fine. I have nothing notable to say about anyone I had interactions with, as far as the people. So, my baseline is not colored by poor experiences with the staff or anything like that, and my review is based on features of the salon itself. I think carpeting is a bad idea in a tanning salon where people are walking around barefoot after many, many others are quickly putting on lotion (you can find lotion streaks in the weirdest places in all tanning salons; I've had to wipe up my own accidental lotion spatters on the floor many times in my tanning life), and people are wearing dirty, wet winter boots on a floor that can't be mopped. If others are not bothered by that-- great! I point it out simply because it is an oddity from my experience tanning at many salons in many states. My mentioning it won't deter people who don't care about that. My opinion of carpet in a tanning salon doesn't change someone else's opinion of carpet in a tanning salon. I understand your level one membership starts at about the same price as other salons, but if the salon doesn't have the same experience you'd get at another salon, the cost is not equal. The same trash sits in rooms for over a week (I know that because I will see the same packet of lotion I used there for multiple visits, and I don't tan that often). There were many times when I went in where, despite being slow and the women up front chatting, i'd have to wait for them to go clean the bed I requested. I've tanned at least once where there has been residual tingle in the bed, and I get the tingle itch and redness on my back from someone else's lotion. These things happen, and they're not that big of a deal as standalone events (clearly, since I didn't mention any of them in my initial review), but when up against competing salons that are constantly mopping floors, and beds are cleaned thoroughly as soon as the customer leaves, and trashes are emptied daily, and monthly EFT memberships include red light therapy, and so on, all these things factor into value and experience. Ratings don't occur in a vacuum, they come via comparison. I mentioned the music selection as just a random bit of information, not as part of my rating, which I mentioned. You are well aware that the door of the stand up cannot be open and allow the customer to get into or out of the room. It is disingenuous to respond as if you don't know what I'm talking about. You must maneuver one door in order to open or close the other. Again, it's just an oddity that i noticed-- a fact; information. I posted this because I depend a lot on reviews when looking for places to do business, and frankly, I appreciate anything that gives me an idea of what to expect with a place so I can either put them at the top of my list, or cross them off. I am not being overly critical, and this is not meant to be offensive to you as the owner. I am simply putting the same information out there that I look for when trying to find new places to spend my money. I am sorry that you find my review disappointing. You seem confident that I am the only customer with this perspective, and if that is true, then this whole thing is neither here nor there. You have the advantage of being the only tanning salon in the immediate vicinity, and the advantage of being attached to a gym. The customers who like it (or its convenience) will stay, and for those for whom it isn't a good fit, such as myself, won't. I decided the drive to Tanlines is a better deal for me, and so I went back since my original review. Win/win.

I am writing this review for my wife…read more My wife had to change her nail technician for the first time in 12 years due to a retirement. She decided to try this location because it is closer to us than Adrian was. While this place is clean and appears to be organized and professionally run by nice people, I must warn you be careful who you get. The younger inexperienced nail techs do not do as good of a job and the ones that really do a good job ( young or older) are never available because they're constantly booked. Also, she said the selection of nail polish colors is substandard compared to the average salon. Just not enough choices. For the first time in 12 years my wife experienced premature chipping. Was it a substandard product or was it a poor application? We do not know. It's going to be hit or miss here ....You may have to break out some greenbacks to convince your way into somebody's schedule, otherwise you may end up with a "lower tier" nail tech.
