I found Tammy Nails via Groupon and I'm glad I did! She is super meticulous and detail oriented! I believe she rents space from an eyelash lady so it is a little tricky to find her! However, she did text me the day before the appointment with the address and points of references, which I appreciated! It was also really fast because she only has one appointment at a time and they do not take walk ins so you don't have a distracted nail tech. The only downfall is that the color selection isn't huge. My gel nails were BOMB but my regular colored toes were sheer and show streaks. I had been meaning to find a nail place close to where I work since I don't often find the time to go get them done, so I went ahead and got the Groupon for a gel mani/regular pedi on a whim. (I used to go to a larger salon, but not consistently enough to actually get the same technician each time) +Communication: I texted her to set up an appointment, she was very polite, professional and friendly, even after I had to reschedule last minute. +Facility: The suite may look small, but it was clean and welcoming and really is just the perfect size considering she's the only nail technician there. Very relaxing and everything was clean and organized neatly. +Pricing: I had originally requested to upgrade to gel for my pedicure, but Tammy said though she is in business to make money, she didn't want to up-sell me on something I didn't need. When I requested a specific design, she told me up front that there would be a small extra charge (of course I was expecting this, but it was nice that she had given me the price ahead of time). Also, even though I used a Groupon this time, I did ask her about her standard pricing which I think is competitive and definitely worth it. +Products: Tammy had a good selection of colors, including newer trends. The colors she has in gel are also available with exact matching ones in regular polish. If you're like me and like to match this is a big plus. Everything she used looked brand new/ well maintained. Trust me, this is a good indication of someone who takes pride in their work. +Quality: Tammy was very focused and paid very close attention to detail. Thanks to her, my nails are flawless. Warning! Do not book unless you are desperate. I would highly recommend trying to make an appointment with this person before actually buying a Groupon to use if you must. She is unresponsive and indecisive. I first messaged on yelp trying to make an appointment, and I received no response. I then text messaged to try to make an appointment on 6/25, and I didn't get a response all day. At the end of the day I messaged again, and she said sorry for the late response as she was busy all day. I understand that these businesses can get busy, but I shouldn't have to text multiple times to get a response from a business owner. I found out that she pretty much only has availability in the mornings on weekdays because of her busy schedule. She said she has both regular customers as well as customers from Groupon which basically told me Groupon customers don't have priority for scheduling. I told her it was too difficult to find a time because I work regular Monday through Friday hours and could not come in the mornings like she wanted me to. On 7/9 I messaged again asking if she had availability Saturday 7/20 at any time. Plenty of time in advance for her to find something for me. She asked if I could come at 11:15, and I said yes and thank you. I did not receive a response from her confirming the appointment. What business owner doesn't confirm the appointment after suggesting it and receiving a yes? Sunday, 7/14 I decide to message her asking if the appointment is still on. I get no response at all. Monday, 7/15 afternoon I message again and she responds saying she doesn't work Sunday Monday and will confirm with me Tuesday once she has the book that she still has my appointment for 7/20. She then messages me later Monday night asking if I can come in tomorrow "Tuesday 7/16". I tell her I cannot as I am flying out of town. I also will not come in at times that are only convenient for you. It goes both ways. I told her that I thought we were confirmed for 7/20 and ask if there is anything at all available for Saturday. I offered flexibility on my diet end, and she said that Saturday she is already really busy EVEN THOUGH she had suggested the 11:15 spot for me that I jumped on. I told her that this situation was getting ridiculous, and that I would be contacting Groupon for a refund. Only then did she say "I'm sorry. I saw the wrong page on the book. Your appointment is Saturday at 11:15.". Friday, 7/19 I get an automated text message asking to confirm the appointment for Saturday 7/20. I respond with yes as it prompted me to. Less than two hours later, I get a call from Tammy asking if I can change my appointment to 830AM. 830AM. I told her that was a ridiculous time to have to go in for a nail appointment. In addition, her yelp website says she doesn't open until 10AM. At this point, I am beyond myself and the lack of professionalism. I promptly contact Groupon for a refund and begin this review that will hopefully save a lot of people a lot of grief. Stay away. read more
