Having decided to bring Astra over to you, I spoke to local garage to OK my collecting it etc. and he agreed then late in the afternoon to quickly have a look at the selectors. At first could not see a problem but then noticed couple of selectors stuck together, released them easily and road tested Ok. You were correct with the cause of the problem and that it should be fixed economically. Both my daughter and I want to say thank you for your help, we now have your contact number and you will be top of the list in future should we have need of your skills. Although Jenna is now pleased to get her car back with no big repair bill, we are both still thinking about this local garage who even though he fixed the problem, had only two days earlier told my daughter to find a second hand gearbox and even provided her with two breakers yard numbers to buy a gearbox ?
