It's all part of the adventure ;) besides, it's too hot most of the time anyway -CLEAN, comfortable space for up to 4 people thanks to the 2 futons in the living room: but glad we had it just for the 2 of us ;D -LOCATION LOCATION: it can't get any better than this. SO many restaurants within a short walk or ride! Our favorite though was a bakery in the nearby town of AGUADA, called PANADERIA EILEEN: just follow 413 until you see it. DELICIOUS breakfast, CHEAP sandwiches for lunch, good coffee. The best! Also, Tamboo, just a few meters away from Puntas Tree House, has unbelievable views from the top floor and great cocktails -Reno, the owner, is EXTREMELY responsive: despite being quite the busy guy. Whenever we had issues with the Wi-Fi, where to find the keys/place them, etc., he always got back to us promptly. IN SHORT, our first time in Rincon and 2nd-year anniversary were unforgettable thanks to Reno and the Puntas Tree House. It's just ONE BLOCK away from the beach and a good height from the balcony to check the SWELL. Breakfast is delicious and fresh. The best you'll find in the area. Across from the hotel is Kahuna Bar - where you'll want to be every night. The people who work here are really cool too. Rooms are clean and cool. They come with a mini fridge. There's a small convenience store across the road you can shop at (or go downtown). The shower pressure is great. They also provide pool/beach towels everyday. The bar downstairs serves AMAZING hot sauce. So authentic a 90 year old farmer makes it (I think that's what they told me or else it was my hangover). Start off your day with their Bloody Mary's and you'll be good to go. Barefoot yoga is a 5 minute walk along the beach. So you're covered from surfing to yoga to beach to food to drinking. Honestly, if you stay anywhere else in Rincon, chances are you'll be coming by here. It's where all the action is. Side note: You can also avoid the hassle of the shady property managers at other places by staying here. Please beware of scams others are running around town with. Do your research so you don't get screwed once you arrive and are asked to chalk up more cash regardless of what was agreed upon. Trust: Good food + surfing + yoga + nightlife = good times with good people! Lastly, anyone who has ever been to Rincon would agree that this hotel rightfully defines their rooms as 'suites.' Yes, in middle America they would be considered a standard room. In Rincon (or even NYC) they're called suites. Most other hotels in Rincon will charge you $50 a day for a fridge! Lol. I was super pleased with my two night stay at The Lazy Parrot Inn and can't wait to return! This beautiful family owned and operated hotel surpassed all of my main points when it comes to hotel cleanliness, customer service, noise level, convenience and purpose. I wanted to stay in a Inn that has both access to the beautiful mountains, the beach and the City of Rincon Plaza. The Lazy Parrot Inn is located minutes from the best Surfing beaches of Puerto Rico which are extremely popular on the West Coast. It is also located along Route 413 which is known as the Route to Happiness and folks, it does not disappoint. What is more beautiful is that after a devastating 2017 Hurricane season, the City of Rincon and the West Coast has been on mass overtime ensuring that tourism is quickly recovered in welcoming travelers from all over the world. The Inn which thankfully suffered minimal damage was one of the first Inns to have both power and water. I also learned from my pleasant conversation with the hotel Operations Manager, that the hotel Owners worked tirelessly alongside with the community in recovery efforts and aid. The Owners and staff of this hotel are passionate about being here and ensuring that all guests feel welcomed and part of the family, this is what attracts me when it comes to Inns and also ensures the reason for why I will go back. I know that many people are somewhat still reluctant to come to Puerto Rico, but I am being truthful when I say that Rincon has not messed around when it comes to after hurricane recovery and if you decide to visit, it will be worth it. Not sure why as April is shouldering peak season in Puerto Rico. That said, it was nice to have peace and quiet while relaxing in the pool which we had to ourselves for 2 days! On the down side, there was little to no staff. The bar remained closed the entire time. MINUS ONE STAR We did enjoy the Thai restaurant one evening! The food was really delicious. We had the Pad Thai with shrimp, the spicy papaya salad and chicken curry. Highly recommend this place as a lot of locals were in. This was the one time we did see a lot of people. ADD A STAR The room was nice and had a nice enclosed outdoor patio where we could hang out and dry our clothes after a day at the beach. The beds were comfortable although VERY high! ADD ONE STAR The resort grounds were very well maintained and I enjoyed strolling around taking pictures of the property and all the pretty flowers! Definitely a pretty place. Loved the lookout area that also served at the Thai restaurant. ADD ONE STAR No other food was available for breakfast or lunch but they did have a nice coffee station with many choices of flavors syrups and creamers/milks and teas! ADD ONE STAR They also had a game room for the kids to enjoy. There were also many large iguanas roaming the property where our room was. It was fun sitting outside our door watching them climb the trees! Parking was on a very steep hill across from the Inn. We reserved a table at the balcony right at sunset at 6pm. We arrived and promptly got thru the security and were taken to our table and it was the most gorgeous view ever. We ordered the signature drink, The Pirata, and it was delish, very strong , and came in a coconut. We then wanted to order dinner. But no server or employee of any kind came to our table for over an hour after we got our drinks. We waited and waited and when we decided to give up and go elsewhere then finally a server came. So we decided to order since it was about 7:15 and we figured it would take too long to go somewhere else and order. My bf ordered the lobster mofongo in some kind of soup and I got red snapper in a plantain crust. Then again we waited and waited. I was so hungry I started trying to pick the coconut pieces out of my Pirata drink. Finally at 8:11 our food was served, And we were starved. I was prepared to hate the food haha but it was actually so delicious. So I guess come here if you are not starved and have tons of time.
